The HK P2000 and P2000sk have a robust history and reputation of durability and reliability. The HK P2000 in .40 caliber was selected after a incredible three million round torture test by the U.S goverment, in 2004. As the largest government law enforcement purchase in history, the U.S. government bought sixty-five thousand HK P2000 pistols, for the then new Department of Homeland Security, ICE, and Border Patrol agents. That speaks volumes of the quality of the HK series of P2000 pistols. Yeah, sure, it is an older model, but it is still carried by German Police today. I carry the P2000 V2 (LEM) 9mm. Tritium night sights. Great ergonomics and just the perfect size for concealed carry. I have three 13 round mags, and one 17 round P30 magazine that fits perfectly with the XFactor mag sleeve. Fits perfectly in my form fitted Vedder kydex OWB " Lightdraw" holster. Outstanding pistol.

One of if not the best compact firearm ever made. People are sleep on HK’s engineering particularly it’s bigger brother the USP. Most will chose a Glock 19 which isn’t a bad option at all but the extra money you will spend on an HK is for premium. Glock is Chevrolet, HK is BMW. These are the ONLY pistol brands that I will ever own.

It'd be good to see the cleaning tear down. I'm betting the recoil spring is the reason it shoots so smoothly. My USP 45 and P2000 in 9mm shoot amazingly well. I'm thinking about the P2000sk as I'm in California and we are so limited in what we can carry.

You will find that after trying Micro’s and compacts , that the P2000 is the best ,especially if you upgrade the trigger and trigger pull . Try the Straight paddle trigger for the P2000 and the trigger job kits from Gray- guns. Also ,take advantage of the Gun’s strength, load your own rounds ,and may I recommend a Pro-Grip hand strengthener , the Key to success with the SK is grip , get all that and your posture right and the gun will seem to aim itself .

I have a P2000 V3 in 9mm. I've been happy with it. Only thing I dont like is how long the trigger reset is. That said, I can shoot it better than I can my Glock 17. Plus the VP9 15 to 17 mag conversion kits work on P2000 mags, since they're the same magazine housing, so I turned the 13 round mag that came with it into a 15.

Does it reliably and accurately send rounds down range? Yes? Then it ain't outdated. I've heard my USPs are supposedly outdated, they work just as well as my HK45, VP40, and my Gen5 G20. A P2000 is on its way to my FFL right now, so I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but I am pretty confident it's going to rock and or roll just fine.

Hard to beat German guns. In the past I had narrowed my choices down between one of these in .40 CAL and the PPS classic .40. I wound up getting the PPS classic .40 Awesome gun. One of the reasons I didn't buy it is because it's a bit thicker than the PPS classic but I'm considering getting one of these anyway.

Food for thought: there’s a one pound or less difference between a Glock trigger and the SA trigger on the P2000. It’s putting a lot of stock into the mostly worthless Glock trigger safety to label a single action trigger as unsafe. A Glock is in reality carrying a single action with no safety.

I was thinking an HK P2000SK V3 in .40 S&W and a HK P30SK in 9mm would be a nice carry rotation. Wish HK would make a HK45SK. That'd be a decent carry trifecta, pretty much guaranteeing ammo could be found. In the '80s

something people dont realize is that HK and SW are the only two mfg to make 40 cal pistols specific to the 40 cal. basically every other mfg just scaled up their 9mm. If you run enough rounds through a 40 glock, youll realize they basically shot themselves to pieces after 8-10k rounds. the rales scrape up, the mag lock chips smooth, the recoil springs get weak and lower the reliability, and the barrel stops stabilizing rounds. its just too much pressure and mass. the original hk USP was actually designed around military trials which is where those stats of crazy reliability come from as a supressed pistol. i believe only the p2000 had similar military trials done, but the sk version has similar trials done with the boarder police in germany i believe. where they easilly surpassed 20-30k rounds. an interesting fact about the p2000sk is that it was actually the first firearm to incorporate a staged recoil spring. HK used to have their own patents on the spring inside of a spring and now you see basically every non fullsize firearm has copied it. the only thing i wish they would have done was incorporate a polygonal barrel for better velocity at the expense of accuracy. probably would not have been as reliable at those higher round counts though. thanks for the heads up, i think ill pick one up from psa

Exactly , which is why H&K & S&W 40s don't wear down as easily. Sig did make some pistols specifically for 40S&W . But truthfully I had a Daewoo DH40 in the mid 90s until 2000. The P2000 is so smooth and manageable my fiance is new to firearms was on target her first time using it and only her third visit to the range

    "It's different".
It can be difficult to explain the differences between a hammer fired gun, and a striker fired gun. Especially when it comes to the trigger. Especially when the mechanics of a hammer fired gun *necessitate* a bit longer reset, and longer travel. Which, especially with modern pistols with triggers like the GX4, Shield Plus, VP9/VP9sk, etc etc etc in striker fires.... have much better triggers, that simply have to let a striker do it's thing.
This is no offense to ANYBODY. But, if the only thing that you have shot in your life, is a striker fire pistol, getting a hammer fire, will change you. Once you can master a hammer fired gun, going back to your striker fired pistol, you will see a LOT of improvement in your trigger pull. And thus, in your groupings.

Absolutely, positively and entirely hated it. I owned it less than a week. After 500 rounds of a caliber I don’t own, I think it’s safe for me to say I hated it as much as I hated my Px4 LTT model. Another one I wanted to love, I really wanted to.
I hate the DA trigger, I hate the width, I hate the back asswards whatever finger groove thing they tried to make do only teenage mutant ninja turtles with 3 total fingers can fire it, I hate the length, the capacity, it’s just as snappy as a Taurus th40 without that better th40 texture/stippling.
I hate the p2000sk in 40. After 500 rounds of the most unpleasant firearm I’ve ever fired that’s not as disappointing as the LTT Px4 but man if it was any more expensive it would be tied.
I bought a p2000sk in 40. Nope. It went to a new home that will also love it for an hour then rehome it too.

How H&K can still demand almost 1000 for polymer pistols is outrageous. Alloy or metal framed is one thing, but that’s just crazy on polymer. CZ and even Beretta have polymer DA/SA pistols at almost half of what a HK costs

    The Trigger.
(Redacted). Ok, as a 3x HK owner, I was going to post a rant. But, reading back through it, it was kind of offensive to some.
So, I'm just gonna say that when it comes to hammer guns, Triggers are NOT HK's strong suit. They need to work on that.

    • @user-im6fy4qp6m
      @user-im6fy4qp6m 8 месяцев назад

they are fine. i dont know what you idiots expect. these are not target guns for olympic one handed match shooting .2" groups at 50 yards. they are combat sidearms for duty use and reliability. because they are hammer fired guns they use strong springs to ensure a strong hit for reliable ignition regardless if there is dirt, mud, or snow in the hammer channel while also being safe enough to cradle the trigger with gloves in single action and not accidentally discharge. if you want a 1 pound trigger go back to your jammomatic 1911 with 3lb hammer strut spring.

    A 40 caliber , DA/SA, subcompact is definitely a waste of money.
    Here are the reasons:
1.) 9mm subcompacts have less recoil and are less costly to shoot.
2.) H&K has very little aftermarket support compared to Glock or SIG.
3.) You will be like most shooters - you will NOT practice with the DA/SA trigger.
You should have spent the money on something more useful.

Lmao this is a review channel my man. I have everything. It’s a great handgun and I trained with it both ways for hundreds of rounds this last week in TN. On top of that, I have many handguns in .40 that I carry. They are more effective and that’s just a fact.
