Agree with you EDC must be stock. Factory knows best. Range and competition shooting is play, if you accidential double shoot there's no downside, there's no stress inducing an accidental trigger release etc.
Thanks for the honest review. I have to say, for a bit more ($375) you could’ve gone with a Grayguns trigger job. Grayguns would have changed all those parts plus a lighter trigger return spring. Additionally, they would have nickel plated all the internal parts after minor fitting. Their triggers come out, lighter and smoother because there’s less resistance on all the internal parts thanks to the nickel plating.
All of the stuff Langdon does you can do at home. I installed a lighter hammer spring and the Grey Guns short reset my self. Not a gunsmith, just watched some RUclips vids on how to do it lol
I love LTT, and have had a few Beretta's done by them, but the work that they do to the HKs is something that someone with mechanical skills can do in about 30 mins. They sent you back the OEM disconnector, FPBS and hammer spring. They use the Gray Guns Short reset kit as part of their trigger job. I swapped all of the same parts in my P30s and P2000, only adding the nickel sear spring, and all in, I was at about $110 into it.
Just a minor correction. With the GG kit, the original disconnector is not replaced. The original control latch is replaced and a new one is included with the kit. It's not difficult to do yourself with the help of you tube videos. The kit is well made and makes the reset for a p2000 and P30 well worth the install.
Oh man the p2k. It’s my favorite CCW / do it all gun, but not after tinkering with it for a while. That combat trigger is ugly out of the box. Mine started out da/sa. Instantly installed the gray guns short reset kit. That helped smooth it out a ton. Put in the 10 lb hammer spring by Wolff and that made it light and crisp. But still wasn’t great. After other upgrades, tlr-7a light, milled slide for 508t by wright armory, extended mag release (45c), slim slide releases, and upgraded sights, I still didn’t love the trigger but I learned to shoot it accurate and fast. Then I swapped the da/sa for the 4.1 LEM with short reset kit and 10 lb hammer spring. This is the smoothest my hk p2000 trigger has been. It really is like a bowling ball on glass. 3.5 ish lbs consistently, and no double action needed. 4.1 is reduced take up, and gg srt is the reduced reset. Making it perfect imo. Tack driver now (also 17 round p30 mag with x grip brings it in to this decade. Flush mags without the elephant toe for CCW).
Based on the parts they returned and your dry fire demo, looks like all they did was install the gray guns short reset system and HK Parts 10 lbs trigger spring. Nothing else. Is it worth the upgrade... yes. Is it worth having Langdon install the upgrades... no. They basically charged you over $200 to install the gray guns reset.
I know this is an older video but it was helpful and thanks also for your sharing the info on Langdon. I would be pissed too. Others have said it and I agree the P2000 can be improved to meet your initial expectations by Lazywolf or Grayguns. Both are very experienced with HK's and and do good work. Send it off and do another video for us.
They charged you over $250 just to change a hammer spring. It would have been much cheaper for you to have changed the spring yourself. They did not do a "trigger job". That is why they did not give any detail when you asked them. They did not want you to know that they only changed the hammer spring. You should never buy anything from them ever again.
I was thinking about sending mine in, but the way they scratched up your sights gives me the impression that they don't really care what happens to your weapon because "they think" they're that good. Not anymore.
I briefly swapped between the original and lighter spring on my P2000 and honestly doesn't make enough of a difference to matter. I'm not sure which spring I ended up leaving in there, but there's a very good possibility I have been using the original now for the past 1 year+. Really doesn't matter.
Great job making an honest review. I’m a fan of LTT and trust them, but not saying what they’ve done to your HK seems like a rip off. I like to know what changed in case I run into a problem in the future. If you take the gun to another gunsmith he just might replace your ‘custom” parts with factory parts since they’re different. If you knew what was changed, you could inform the gunsmith not to remove those parts. I like their TJIAB, and doing the work yourself is very beneficial to knowing how your pistol works.
An eight to ten pound double action trigger pull is desirable to make it easier to shoot but safe enough for concealed carry personal defense or a duty weapon. The heavier the double action trigger pull weight the longer it takes to get the first shot off and the harder it is to group tight to the point of aim. Other ways to lighten the double action trigger include Walther’s Anti Stress feature on the P99 and the H&K LEM trigger on the P2000. In both of these solutions the double action trigger travel is still long for safety reasons.
Good review. It's tough to improve these HK triggers in comparison with the berettas. I have a well-broken in usp and the trigger is still meh. A new 92 smooths out much faster. I think with HKs just throw in the match trigger components and call it a day.

I purchased a trigger job in a bag from them for a beretta px4 9 in 45 ACP. To make along story short, the juice wasn't worth the squeeze - I returned it. In comparison, I purchased a drop in trigger job for a SA XDM from Powder River Precision & it smoked the Langdon stuff.... The difference between stock & the PRP was like night & day.
To me the Trigger is fine straight out of the box. I have one it’s a a great firearm and it’s very accurate one of my favorite pistols . but if you really want to feel a difference in your trigger just install a. LEM trigger ..
Good honest video. I have the P30 and P30SK. The guns are super reliable but as you said the triggers are just OK. I have about 6000 rounds through mine and the trigger smooths out nice but it’s still not as nice as my CZs. And the P30SK is noticeably worse than the P30. But with practice I’ve been able to get acceptable with my accuracy. All that said, I trust the HK’s more than any other brand i own, and I have or have had most all of the brands over the years. I am thinking about trying the grey guns flat trigger though. It is s opposed to break at vertical which should help my issues because I have giant gorilla hands.
I bought the V2 LEM w/nite sights and the trigger pull is fine. The LEM is what you seem to be wanting in your P2000 and your prices you mentioned are low not todays going price.
I'd have no problem running through competitions with their work; but for home defense and legal carry, I would never touch the factory set up, never unscrew anything, never do anything beyond a field strip. For safety and legal liability reasons. Buy one, break it in for 500-1000 rounds, then never shoot it, dedicate it to defense - buy a second for the range. We live in a rich enough area that two of your core defense pistol is not unreasonable. Last mag on every training session is your carry ammo, for practice. Everything has a lifespan. I would not want to dedicate a pistol to self defense AND range training. Every magazine is another step towards eventual failure, not to mention gunpowder and grit in the action. But I don't believe in voodo gunsmithing. Doesn't look like they were gentle with your pistol and that grease blob is disappointing. Thank you for sharing with us.
By the time you pay everything, it just doesn't look like it's worth it. I heard LT does some decent stuff but in this case I sure don't think it's much of anything for the money spent.

Yes, that's a joke. There is some promotional material HK put out many years ago that shows the same thing. If you put "HK bullets backwards" into Google then the picture will show up. You might not be the first person to notice, but you're the first person to mention it.

Thanks for a great review. If you are not familiar with the trigger components an explanation of what they did would have been meaningless. Weigh the da/sa trigger weight and measure the da/sa trigger travel before and after the work to know objectively the results of the work. Shoot before and after the work to know the subjective results.
Hk p2000 and usp are combat (s,d) pistols meant to put holes in things (being politically correct here) they are not meant to be target pistols putting one bullet on top of another.
Hk da/sa triggers are terrible but the the guns themselves are the best on the market. I have an expert 45 with the match trigger and a p2000 40sw variant 3. The expert has about a pound lighter da and slightly shorter reset probably because of the reset screw.
It's ok if you always keep the barrel aimed in a safe direction. Such as your thigh, calf, foot, random bystanders who might be hit by a richochet off the sidwalk or patient, in fact anything at all we didn't intend to shoot.
Doesn’t look like it’s worth the money. Honestly my P2000 collects dust in the safe. All paid reviews cream over the LTT guns. PX4 is an expensive price of junk. I am spectacle about there P30 models.
One of the exact details they don't share is that they mar your sights with a hammer.

Right, that's an attachment point for a Blackhawk Omnivore holster. I put it on most of my handguns and they'll all go into the same holster.
The problem with the P 2000 isn’t that its not smooth, its that it has way too long of a trigger reset.
