  • Learn how to make candied peanuts right at home! Super easy, quick and so much cheaper. You can use any nut you wish including peanuts, pecans, almonds, cashews, etc. as long as they are raw. Be forewarned, these suckers are addicting!
**Click 'show more' to see full recipe and all info below**
    What you'll need:
2 cups raw peanuts or cashews or almonds or pecans or any other nut you wish
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/3 cup water
optional - vanilla extract, cinnamon, cocoa powder, chili powder, sea salt, etc.
In a large heavy bottomed skillet, combine all 3 ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Once up to a boil, continue to stir and cook over medium-high until the water evaporates and the sugar syrup seizes and crystallizes. Continue stirring and the crystallized sugar will start to melt and caramelize. Stir this to coat the peanuts until all the sugar has caramelized and no more granulated sugar remains. Remove from heat and immediately stir in 1 tsp vanilla extract if desired and then turn out onto a cookie sheet lined with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Sprinkle with cinnamon, cocoa powder, chili powder, sea salt, etc to flavor to your tastes. Let cool completely and then break up nuts into individual pieces. Store in an airtight container. Makes 2 cups of candied peanuts. Enjoy!!

I love that I was finally able to find a video tutorial for this goodness!! I'm going to attempt making jalapeno-infused nuts by adding fresh slices of jalapeno while the sugar is melting. I've had them store bought and am soooo in love. If I can make them from home... Life will be AMAZING!! They'd make great gifts regardless of how you prepare them. 🧡

Out of all the videos out there this one was the best thank you. I wish I could take a picture of what I made. I added a little more sugar then you did but product came out so good I made a big pot and took them to my family thanksgiving dinner as a snack and they refuse to believe I made them that’s how good it came out. I did peanuts/walnuts/almonds mix and it came out very well.

Just made these and they turned out good. Actually used roasted and salted peanuts, because we had a lot leftover from trail mix my wife made for holiday treat bags. Still turned out tasty, although I'll try raw nuts next to see the difference. I'll also say the "don't let it sit too long" tip is no joke. Realized toward the end I'd forgotten to lay a silicone mat on my cookie sheet. The minute I spent digging it out of the cupboard with the pan off the heat was enough for the peanuts to harden and stick together, making them more difficult to spread out and break apart after cooling. I'll definitely organize myself better next time. But I can't wait to experiment with different nuts and seasonings in the future.

    @meazlesgolf3455 6 лет назад

    Oh my God!
This recipe is spot-on with the ingredient measurements and process.
I made an ever so slight modification in that I use 1/3 cup of water mix with butter and I added the vanilla flavoring with a few drops of red food coloring during the mixing.
I had my fire on 5 to 5.5 on an 8 to high dial stove. The time it took stirring through all phases were much longer than you suggested it would be but I persevered and they came out looking VERY professional and tasted fabulous.
I almost made a mistake on using a (shudder) plastic spoon; not realizing how high the temperature the melted sugar would generate. I quickly switch to a metal utensil but will use a flat wooden spatula going forward.
I used one of those non-stick skillet/pan they advertised on T.V. and there was virtually no-sticking at all; just to the stirring utensil which the sugar broke off rather easily once it cooled down.
I decided to use some butter spray to lightly coat a glass container to receive the final product and that worked out well as my total clean-up was a breeze.
I am guessing the entire time it took from the first stir to the last in "my" case was about 20 minutes which is most acceptable for an OCD-Positive guy (Optimal Creative Diligence).
Crouton Crackerjacks may not read this post but for you "Johnny-Come-Lately's" like me, it may prove to be very helpful for you.
My wife is going to love these and I plan to make another batch tomorrow as I have some more Raw peanuts left.
Finally, I purchased a 1lb bag of raw peanuts for $2.99 and with this first batch, I was able to fill and seal one of those 6.5 X 8" zip-loc sandwich bag and expect to get the same amount out of the remaining peanuts. I also saw these "French Burnt Peanuts" selling on eBay for $12.90 per lb. which includes shipping.
By making these yourself will allow you to bypass any added preservatives.
Enjoy and thank you again Crouton Crackerjacks! :).

Awesome! Used almonds I chopped up and added vanilla and a smidgen of salt delight! Next time, who knows, liquid smoke and a bit of salt?? Yummy! Thank you so much! For those with electric stove with coiled burners, there is a lot of off the burner, back on the burner as you stir during the caramelized part so as not to burn--- just be advised! I used #5 on my stove top and reduced to 4 during caramelized phase so as not to burn...and stir like crazy 😜 😅

Thank you so much for such an easy recipe. ❤️ I half the ingredients and roasted my peanuts first before adding them into the sugar and water mixture. Thank God it did seize up without burning I kept stirring them under medium to low heat until the sugar melted again for second time.
At this stage, things got little bit tricky but I managed to get all the nicely sugar coated peanuts out before they burn in the pan. Then I sprinkled some salt and added a dash of vanilla. Heaven!
I will definitely gonna try making other flavour next.
