I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.
I love hearing great life changing stories like this. I want to become a mycologist because honestly mushrooms are the best form of medicine (most especially the psychedelic ones) There are so many people today used magic mushrooms to ween off of SSRI medication- its amazing! Years back i wrote an entire essay about psychedelics. they saved you from death buddy, lets be honest here.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Australia don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
YES sure of mycologist Pedroshrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, addiction. Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I'm so very happy for you mate, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.
I just got diagnosed at 57 and started meds this week. O totally understand how you feel. I didn’t realize how much stress my ADD was causing me. I feel calm and so relieved.
I’m 44, and was diagnosed coming up on a month ago. The first day I took medication was the day I found out I had been living with a hurricane in my head nearly everyday of my life, I had no idea what calm seas were like, it was so eye opening. Glad you were diagnosed and are experiencing the same difference.
@@jaymondo medication isn’t a magic bullet, unit doesn’t make all the habits and patterns of ADHD disappear, but it sure does make following all those steps to forming new habits and healthier routines far easier to accomplish, rather than continually finding yourself right back in the same old loops and thinking you just can’t cut it. It also makes looking back at some old regrets a lot easier, being able to understand why they happened for a very different vantage point.
@just shae I am taking Concerta. The effect is noticeable within an hour of beginning to take the medication. I started on a low dose of 18mg, approximately 3 to 3 1/2 weeks into it I noticed a decline in their effectiveness which is completely normal your body adjusts to the medication, when I had my follow up with my doctor the next week he upped my dosage and now everything is back to where it was when I first started taking them.
@Nikos Kalosidis nikos that’s exactly how I feel! 22 now and find it hard to even have a basic conversation.. can’t express my thoughts, stutter a lot and my brain works very slow so spend 99.9% by myself
Hey, I'm also 17 and hopefully I'll be starting on my meds soon, can you tell me about how your life changed after medication? Specifically when it comes to school, are you able to pay better attention now? Have your grades improved?
I was just recently diagnosed at 36 and the meds have completely changed my life. I can sleep for the first time in my life and I wake up feeling refreshed, my social anxiety is dissipating, I enjoy menial tasks. Pretty much everything is better. Not perfect but so much better! It drives me crazy when people deny that it's a real thing. Good luck on your journey and strength to all who are going through the healing process!
Hii, do you mind me asking - did you pay privately for your diagnosis? I've attempted to be referred to a psychiatrist via my GP but was knocked back for treatment under the NHS because apparently my symptoms aren't severe enough.
@@mariastone2505 and so after all of the needless ADHD rant information I just gave you, I will attempt to answer your question in a helpful way. Disclaimer: I have no experience with the American Medical system and I am not a health care professional in any country. My varied experiences with the Canadian system have taught me: Be consistent and unwavering in your request (in your case, your ADHD diagnosis). Make it easier for them to oblige your requests than not (very politely harras them)...make persistent phone calls etc. obviously don't be a jerk, just reasonably insistent. Inundated them with accurate information - give them literally binders of any medical journals you can find online that support your perspective. Believe me, med students and Dr.s are so tired of reading that stuff that they will pass at any chance to have to read more of it, but your due diligence holds your case and since you have done actual the research yourself you will likely know if the diagnosis fits you or not.
I got goosebumps when you mentioned the waiting list in the uk, that makes me so sad :( considering i have been diagnosed a couple of weeks ago and my life has turned around for the better in such a big life changing way that I fucking hate that people have to wait so incredibly long for that, and have to keep struggling
It’s such a horrendously long time to wait - I completely understand the high demand but considering the condition and how debilitating it can be - it’s so tough for people
@@MaximusWallis Yeah this is a load of shit. State universal healthcare is infinitely preferable to shit privatized healthcare, but the Tories know that the latter can make lobbyists richer so they've been bleeding the NHS dry for them.
Yeah, I feel exactly how you described before meds. I am 22 and feel as if I don't really have memories nor have really lived so I'm doing my best to make money and buy those same meds! Keep it up, brother! never stop fighting!
Got diagnosed at 39 and holly hell finding the right meds has been amazing. I primarily struggle with executive dysfunction (didn't even know that was a thing prior to getting diagnosed). In my country, only the fast acting methylphenidate is readily available (in stock, they still regulate it heavily and only specific pharmacies carry it, but at least it's affordable and getting prescription isn't an issue). When I first started on the meds, the difference was subtle when the meds kicked in, but when it wore off was when I realized just how much of a difference it makes. Am lucky enough that the first dosage prescribed to me works with some but minimal side effects. What I had to learn and figure out was when to take the meds and timing it around meals. Wishing you the best of luck, man. Subbed.
Thank you for explaining. I was diagnosed early a couple of months ago with autism and ADHD and they suggested meds but til this day, I was unsure. But thanks for the explanations, my guy! I’m looking forward to trying them.:) Update: I’m taking meds started very short but I actually managed to do more stuff, focus and somewhat control and not have much mood swings, :’)
OllieEdward I’ll keep you updated once I get it! Again thanks appreciate it a lot. At the moment my main nurse which we have on Norway have gotten permission. What’s left is getting them but I’m curious on trying. I’ll edit this message and give results!
This is a really helpful thing to listen to as someone currently on the NHS waiting list (it’s been over a year) who is hoping to eventually get access to medication too. I really appreciate you being honest about the ups and downs etc
I’m sorry to read that it’s taking so long for you to get an assessment.. it really must be so frustrating! Let me know when you get an assessment date 🤞
Have you heard about Psychiatry UK. Apparently their waiting lists only take 3-6 months and you can get your GP to refer you to them through the NHS. I’m not too sure but if you go on psychiatry UKs website and look up “right to choose” there’s more information there
@@hiralmakhecha5542 I just used them through the nhs choice scheme, only had to wait 3 weeks, one 1 hr appointment I was diagnosed. I really recommend this to people in the U.K.
It must have been something I've always dealt with, but over the last couple years I've been struggling more and realizing that I almost definitely have ADHD. It's good to hear that it is something meds can help with. I'm looking at options to get in to see a doctor right now.
I'm so glad I found this video. I was diagnosed recently at the age of 46. I've had wrong diagnoses of depression and anxiety disorder despite telling my GP that I'm not depressed! My anxiety is as a result of my ADHD. My head is cluttered, my mind races at a million miles an hour, I have the attention span of an ant. My life is chaotic. I start a project and then abandon it. I interrupt mid conversations unintentionally and change the subject. Its hell living and feeling like this. The relief to know there's a name for what I've struggled with my whole life is immense. I've been offered the choice of 3 meds. What is the chemical name for the one you are on? I've been offered a choice of dexamfetamine, atomoxetine or methylphenidate I'm glad meds are working for you. Its my last hope to feel 'normal'.
Hi Karen, I'm 43 and my recent visits to a Psychologist believes I might be a clear cases for ADHD. Sadly, the waiting list here is 7 months before I can see anyone. I will put my super ADHD powers to the test and see if I can sneak in earlier. I suffer from exactly the same as you and I wanted to know what medication you went on in the end and how do you feel now that it has been 10 months? (according to the post time stamp).
Great video mate. I got diagnosed a month ago at 40 while at university. It has made so much sense of my life now, hope to see more vids of your stuff.
@@richardbrown3055 doesn't ever, my view has changed alot especially with in myself. Im learning more and more about the condition so i can be happier in life, Its tough though.
Commented on one of your other vids today. Man, I’ve been struggling for so long, my 26th birthday is tomorrow, and I honestly can’t go another year without help. Really appreciate your story. I’m quite nervous to go in for my appointment, but sure this is the right path right now. Thanks again.
Just got diagnosed at 36. Been struggling my whole life, especially as I became an adult. It was challenging for me to function in my daily life. I just got my meds today. I am hoping for the best for anybody going through their ADHD journey and wish you all the best of luck. Mental health is first and foremost important to continue through life by making it a little easier to maintain.
I was diagnosed with ADHD a few days ago after waiting 10 long years - that’s 5 years to get my GP to make a referral and 5 years on the NHS waiting list.
Damm... You made my sittuation look like a cake walk. I had to convince my GP for the referal... After a heated discussion due to her ignorance on the matter. Best comment from her was "not alot you can do for adult adhd". Anyhow. 8 months later i was seen(last week) and will start meds next week or so. I feel for you, best of luck
From AZ, USA Thank you for the perspective. 37 and was finally fed up with the feelings and was shocked to learn I might have it and I'm getting tested this week. Was recently diagnosed with depression and anxiety, but something still feels off. I sought out therapy and it's been an eye opening year already for me. Thank you again for sharing your point of view and across the pond. ✌️🙏
Hey man. Thanks so much for the kind words! Sorry to hear that you’re experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression alongside the possible ADHD - they unfortunately often come as a package deal! Please keep me posted on how the assessment goes. If you need someone to chat to send me a message whenever!
@ollieedwards hey, I wanted to give an update on the process. I've been fortune to be on Family Medical Leave for a little over a month now, seeing my psychiatrist, psychologist, and primary care provider all regularly at least once a week each. I'm still waiting for a new medication regimen to start over after a few trial and errors. I've been trying everything I can and finally feeling some sort or relief from depression, but lots of questions still for the diagnosis, which has not been an easy task for someone like me. Thanks for the support!
For those who are in the UK that are reluctant to pay for a private diagnosis... The NHS operates a “Right to Choose” program whereby if your GP is willing to refer you to a local mental health team, you have a right to choose who can provide that service. There are certain private mental health firms that are registered with the NHS that can diagnose ADHD for no extra cost to either the NHS or the patient. I’ve just been diagnosed (at 28) and although it took a couple of months to be referred by my GP, it only took a matter of weeks for a diagnosis and it’s apparently a 6 week waiting time for medication.
I’ve been trying to get meds since last fall because COVID has taught me that my coping strategies doesn’t work. Unfortunately the doctors and psychiatrists around me are overburdened with suicidal patients in the hospital. I’m diagnosed in 2019 with ASD, ADHD, and repetitive behavior disorder.thanks for sharing.
Update, I am pushing now to go to a private clinic, with my doctors referral. This has gone on too long. Now that I have been taken off my anti-anxiety med because of a hospital stay, just to detox my liver, it is a good time to change my meds to something that actually works for me. I mean once it is safe for me to do so.
hej, i don't know where you are now on your journey, but i wanted to leave you some encouraging words anyway :) what i have learned over the last 8 months on meds (been diagnosed with 25) is that no, my memory is not magically a lot better, but the plus in capacity i have gotten is the groundworks for putting up and maintaining all the systems to help with that. take the improvements you feel and build on them to for example actually keep up a journal where you write in the important stuff or other externalised systems that work for you! i feel like the help we get from meds is the little stepping stone we can use to reach the things we want to move in our lives. i hope you are going the way you want to
I'm 51 and got diagnosed 2 weeks ago, it's such a relief to be able to focus and retain information, my meds get reassessed in two weeks and will be changed a little. I can't believe how emotional I've often become, purely due to my new ability to focus and pay attention.
I’m 38 and just been diagnosed! I’m awaiting starting medication and I can’t wait! Glad I found your video 🤩thank you for all the information, it’s really given me hope! Xx
I’m due to have my assessment on Monday, it’s taken approx 2 months for the assessment via the NHS. I’m glad I spoke to the GP otherwise I’d have thought I’d be stuck waiting for 2 years.
So happy to see others being open about Rx(s) especially CONTROLLED MEDS shown to be not only associated with junkies and addiction, how BENEFICIAL they are for those of us who need them!!! Also - may I ask, what was the titration schedule?
For sure you can - I will refer you back to my first 3 videos on this channel, they cover my titration period in much more detail than I can write here!
I've just had a diagnosis and Im having a further consultation for medication on 10th October and looking forward to seeing how this will help me become better at my job and studying.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’ve recently switched from Concerta to Elvanse and start on 50mg tomorrow.. I’ve found your videos very helpful 😊
I always try to describe taking my ADHD meds that it’s like driving in the middle of nowhere (at least in the US idk if this does or has ever applied to the UK to be honest bc it’s so small) and you can’t find a radio station with clear music playing but then they kick in when you’re coming up on a little patch of civilization and you find a station - with no fuzz/clear as day & your favorite song is playing.
Its crazy to me how widespread the issue of getting mental health care is in the world. The cost is certainly dissuading in almost every country I've read about. I've heard Canadas is okay, but just from one person I know from there.

Hi mate, recently just been diagnosed myself at 29. I was in the same predicament as you where I was told it would be 2 years before I was seen. I managed to get in with a private psychiatrist and got my diagnosis this way. He mentioned to me that he more than likely will be able to set up a 'Shared Care Agreement' with my Doctors Surgery, this would bring the cost of the meds down. Well not bring the cost down but mean that I wouldnt need to contact private for meds. Is this something you're aware of? All the best and enjoyed the vid.
Can you please tell me how much I can expect to pay roughly if I go with Anchor Psychiatry? Mostly interested in knowing the initial cost and then how much can I expect to pay for meds/check-ups on regular basis. Thanks a lot! And thanks for sharing your story with us!! Happy holidays mate.

@@ollieedward643Thanks for your reply, Ollie! I just finished watching the video - very helpful! I also found the website of the practice you go to and now know what to expect in terms of the assessment cost and all, but what I am still not sure about is how the pricing for the medication. What I found online is that GP could agree to take over prescribing the meds from a private clinic but I am not sure if that's true. What's your experience with this?
@@petergreppel2195 good to hear Peter! So the medication costs are difficult to estimate depending on where you are in your treatment. If you are in the titration period, you will be responsible for paying for the private prescriptions (mine ranged from ~£35 to ~£105 depending on the medication and dosage). You can expect to pay this much every other week/every three weeks roughly whilst the dose is being altered. Once you’ve finished the titration - you can now ask your doctor if they’re happy to put you on a ‘shared care agreement’. This means the psychiatrist will contact your gp with the dose you’ve settled on and agrees to check ups every 6 months. Your gp will then be able to prescribe the medication at the much lower NHS prescription fee (~9.20?) indefinitely! Hope this helps 👍
How are you doing now? What subtype of ADHD do you have? I have it all. The Combined subtype. I haven't started meds yet. They are also considering estrogen therapy since I am 52 now (the reduction of estrogen as I went through menopause, among other factors, is what triggered my downward spiral that finally diagnosed me, a good 4 years after I started failing at life). Even though I've had it since birth, like most people, I was always able to manage, to varying degrees, over the years with jobs requiring hyper-focus, high stress, and raising my kids alone (which also required intense focus and immediate consequences). These things kept me on top of it. But when these things were taken away, and I also had developed osteoarthritis, anxiety, and went through menopause, my world collapsed. Yet it was only recently that they figured it out. Now the medication issue of taking away my current sleeping pills, reducing my pain meds, adding ADHD meds, and hormone replacement therapy...it's alot!! Overwhelming! I am looking at advice from people who are actually taking meds to see what their experienced have been. Thanks for the video!!
Hey man I was wondering how your medication has been effecting you now these days? Honestly struggling rn exactly with the struggles you had.
Where do I reach this dude? If possible can I find him on Google
I just got diagnosed at 57 and started meds this week. O totally understand how you feel. I didn’t realize how much stress my ADD was causing me. I feel calm and so relieved.

I’m 44, and was diagnosed coming up on a month ago.

My varied experiences with the Canadian system have taught me:
Be consistent and unwavering in your request (in your case, your ADHD diagnosis).
Update?
I got goosebumps when you mentioned the waiting list in the uk, that makes me so sad :( considering i have been diagnosed a couple of weeks ago and my life has turned around for the better in such a big life changing way that I fucking hate that people have to wait so incredibly long for that, and have to keep struggling
It’s such a horrendously long time to wait - I completely understand the high demand but considering the condition and how debilitating it can be - it’s so tough for people
It's the NHS :(

Subbed.
Thanks so much for sharing your story Andie - good luck with everything 🙏

My memory have always been garbage. This could seriously change my life 😭😭😭 all of this i relate to
For those who are in the UK that are reluctant to pay for a private diagnosis...
I mean once it is safe for me to do so.
hej, i don't know where you are now on your journey, but i wanted to leave you some encouraging words anyway :)
what i have learned over the last 8 months on meds (been diagnosed with 25) is that no, my memory is not magically a lot better, but the plus in capacity i have gotten is the groundworks for putting up and maintaining all the systems to help with that. take the improvements you feel and build on them to for example actually keep up a journal where you write in the important stuff or other externalised systems that work for you! i feel like the help we get from meds is the little stepping stone we can use to reach the things we want to move in our lives. i hope you are going the way you want to

Sure Peter, you’ll find all the information on the cost within my videos - namely the one titled ‘private ADHD diagnosis - what to expect’. If you have any further questions after finishing this video, send me a message!
Thanks mate, and to you.
Great video. I just spent more than £700 to get an assessment and if I am diagnosed it will cost more for those meetings. :( It's crazy.
It is really frustrating.. it’s such an expense but hopefully it’ll be worth it for you in the long run 👊
That is a lot to be dealing with! I am doing well thanks - mine is inattentive ADHD
how long was it before they prescribed you Elvanse from the doctor ?
Who did you see in the UK? I’m struggling with NHS bud
its light wearing glasses for the first time
Hey man I was wondering how your medication has been effecting you now these days?
Honestly struggling rn exactly with the struggles you had. It's difficult for me with uni and I've been trying to get support and I was hoping to know the long term effects of the medication? Does it wear down? Does your brain get too tolerant with the stimulants?
Cheers man hope you're doing well
Hi Jonathan. I recently posted a video on my 1 year review of Elvanse! It's up on my channel now, so check it out
My daughter is 8 with ADHD and I can't make my mind up if giving her medication is the right decision. Any advice would be appreciated.
Give her medication. I’m 42 and because my parents decided not to give me medication, they have ruined my life. I now suffer with so much mental issues and it’s been hell for me. I had to do my own research and figure out what was wrong with me. Now at age 42 I am so anxiously waiting to get prescribed adhd medication. Hopefully I can live the rest of my life in peace
Yes! As long as she doesn't become a sad zombie
Tha k you both for the advice I chose to go with the lowest does or ritalin, she seems to be doing alot better consentrating and school work has improved, she says it tastes horrible and gets headaches sometimes from the medication. But so far so good.
@@REVONEWS1I would recommend a smoothie of frozen fruit..almond milk and Greek yogurt (protein) to take in the morning.. I'm 21 and I use to miss out on breakfast before school al the time . A smoothie would of been very benfitial
I have been wanting to know... I've been hesitating the medication... I was told that I wouldn't be able to sleep, having sleep issues. What was your experience? Did you have any sleep issues/ inability to sleep issues?
How long do you have to see the doctor before they gave you the medication?
From what i can remember, i started to receive my medication about 1 week after i was diagnosed. This later switched medication, but the initial treatment was surprisingly fast.

Does anyone get seasonal affect disorder especially in winter feeling overwhelmed sad mood and body feeling fatigue?
How do I start the process ? Iv been partially diagnosed but nothing official. What’s the next step. Cheers
I'm unsure what you mean by you've been 'partially diagnosed'?
Anyone else start meds n think it's life changing, but then a week later you realize it was just an amphetamine high and your life is the exact same
Nope, still feeling great 7 months on! 🙂
Can anyone help me to tell this please?
How long ADHD medicine take time to work? However, it starts after 30 mins but I have ADHD last 15 years but did not diagnose but now it has been diagnosed recently. Moreover, I started taking Rubifen 20 mg last 10 days but it made a little changes in my daily life but not too much. Please suggest.
Have you spoken to your Dr about possibly changing medications? It may not be the right one for you
@@ollieedward643 not yet and thanks for the reply.
@@akkijayant5746 if I were you, I would ask them to try a different medication as this one isn’t having any effect!
And well done to you! Work and educations have felt impossible.
If someone says a door code at work even 4 digits it just sounds like a different language. It doesn't go in.
I've felt like a complete idiot for the majority of my adult life. Especially in a working/social environment. Turning up to work on my days off. Taking the safe keys home by accident at my new job recently. They must think I'm some sort of cat burglar. I re-sat my maths GCSE with flying colours as an adult. I'm OK with maths on my own.
But I've a customer needs change my mind is a complete blank. I went through x3 manual driving instructors who all pretty much fired me as their pupil 😂. I had to and passed in automatic though. I hate feeling like I must look so stupid. I feel like I've been trying to boot my brain up for every day tasks whilst the more I know it needs to be on it only goes more blank. Feel it's held me back...I'm 34 now and Just about to start methylphenidate. Don't know why I'm so anxious about starting.
You do know that "medicine" is speed?
This video gives me hope. Just need to get my unfocused ass into the psychiatrist. Cheers from US.
How did you get your meds ?
What do you mean Robert? How did I get them prescribed? Or where do I collect them from?
@@ollieedward643 yea like how did you get them prescribed. I’m looking into a therapist cause I was diagnosed when I was younger but never took meds.
@@robz75rr I went through a private psychiatrist at Anchor Psychiatry. They were brilliant - check my video out on private psychiatrists if you want more info on it: m.ruclips.net/video/d8u2sjG1CR0/видео.html
@@ollieedward643 Ollie thank you very much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Has anyone here tried neuro feedback therapy? I just got diagnosed with adhd at 27 years old and I’m thinking about going this route but not sure how effective it actually is
How long was the diagnosis process?
I think all the information on the timescales is in this video - I don’t remember exactly. From memory, I think I waited ~4 weeks from enquiry to the assessment appointment, the assessment lasted ~2 hours and I received my medication the next day. Hope this answers your question 👍
I really don't know how much of it I'm just not a good person and how much of jt is adhd....I like Ti blame the adhd because I try so hard to change so much I try to find hobbies I tries changing environments....but no adhd ruined my life has left me depressed and suicidal and rhe only thing keeping me now are some memories and a mix of drugs
Does the medication affect your genitals at all? I heard some ADHD medications can cause ED
Not that I have noticed, no. But you’re right - I’ve heard of that too!
I'm on Methylphenidate, no problem but on amphetamine's my D goes on baby carrot mode and will not work at all 😁
i really need to get medication because my grades are just complete shit i can not focus on schoolwork at all i can try but it never works no matter how hard i try
I have adhd and am happy with my motiron. Have heard that Elvanse should next be the same as cocaine and be quite expensive, I would not dare take it.All the best to u.
