    People say that we are overmedicated or associate our medication with our daily living, yet they forget the fact that before we were medicated, we dealt with all of this negativity in terms of getting out of bed and not having any type of energy or motivation or psychological motivation to actually get out of bed and go about our days, they forgot that part that we were having those issues way before we got on medication❤❤❤❤

    • @TjallieBrrr
      @TjallieBrrr 7 месяцев назад

      Yes very much so!
      Its like that or developing a problem during medication use and only noticing that problem afterwards.
      But i also think a big part of this problem is because medications like Dexamphetamine have a lot of stories going around where they cause euphoria in a lot of people who are prone to that and mostly in people who are straight up misdiagnosed.

    • @mb7626
      @mb7626 3 месяца назад

      @@TjallieBrrr I find it a bit funny or mysterious to make claims about (which makes it fun to me!) because diagnosis is tricky and I don't entirely believe in its basis a lot of the time, like a disorder is effectively just something where people sat down and were like 'these symptoms make sense to travel together', and these symptoms are the same thing we treat with medication, so I'd argue if you simply have 'relevant symptoms' diagnosis under some kind of disorder sort of becomes inessential.
      I've never been on straight dex but I've been on Vyvanse and I think the presence of some 'euphoria' helped the efficacy, part of the problem for me is reward dysregulation (atypical depression etc) so something that can interact with that system seems to help, if I have more energy but I still feel like a robot then what's the point, etc. For me the more acute short term effect vanished in a few weeks but then I sustained a therapeutic effect just with the 'euphoria' of a generally lower and less consistent grade, which was perfectly fine or actually seemed generally more functional.
      I say this just because I find sketching the boundaries around this stuff rather difficult and just the attempt to understand it is enjoyable, but I think these agents could potentially help a decent variety or assortment of people, just that chasing euphoria definitely becomes a trap, and in part to help prevent this I think you'd want to pursue the lowest dose with significant clinical benefit. Chasing hypomania or whatever has to be risky for anyone imo. But then once you do this sorting or adjusting, you'd think that really only primarily those with a relevant condition being treated (of whatever kind) would find the motivation to persist at this low/therapeutic/boring dosing regime. Like those with something to gain will just naturally be more compliant, while others will find more that they can 'take it or leave it'. At least this is what I'd expect to be.

    I’ve just been diagnosed with ADHD and Autism, I’m 51, it explains a lot about my past and my mental health issues. I suffer terribly from a lack of motivation to do anything and procrastinating, some days I achieve nothing and this pains me, I have so much to do and so much I want to do but nothing happens. Really appreciate this video. I'm on month 4 of Elvanse. Started on 30mg up to 50mg, though 50 was too much. So on 40mg now. But noticed the drop at 5 hours so on a split dose of 2 x 20mg daily which is better. I completely relate to your review. I notice it if I miss a day feel zero motivation and completly fatigued. But the pros are life changing. So glad it's worked out for you. Hoping I settle more as the months go by. 🤞👍

I can concentrate, stand and listen to conversations without walking off, retain what’s said to me and remember other things I need to in the moment, haven’t asked what’s someone’s said 1 minute after they’ve told me something, I’ve even walked in a busy shopping centre on payday weekend and didn’t get overwhelmed or over stimulated!! I just kept talking to my friend the whole time, total tunnel vision!😁 must admit, felt a bit anxious the first week and have headaches which are common side affects. I’ve noticed I feel now it’s been over a week, I may need a slightly higher dose. But overall, so glad I took the decision to try medication! Life feels easier when I take it😊

    Dude, im 38 and just got diagnosed with ADHD 3 years ago. Every medication under the sun, all shit. All made it wayyy worse. I take vyvanse now and at first i would take it then not take it or over take it or under take it because my impulsivity control was non-existent. I would go through periods of wicked hyperness and then just crash hard. But crashing for me is my body being exhausted, not my mind. That never stops. I have been taking the vyvanse 30 mg for 5 months consistently along with another medication and it has helped me drastically. When I dont take it, my mind tells me I dont need it or everything is fine but in reality, its not. Its just a vicious cycle that never ends. I started meditating, doing yoga daily, started school, left an extremely toxic 20 year relationship. The downside, for me, is the acne, the anxiety if I have coffee with my medication, def cant do that. My heart rate is always high but my blood pressure is low because im usually dehydrated but other than that. The impulse control, the motivation, the ability to focus and really internalize and think about things has made life worth living again for me. I thought medication was a horrible idea, i still do, even though I know the benefits of it. Are there terrible things about medications, yes. But benefit out ways the cons for me personally. Maybe in the future I wont need it but what ive learned is that my quality of life is based on how i feel and taking care of myself. I hope this helps someone. Peace.

      ADHD is 150% real, we struggle so much, but there is no actual shortage, it's almost like a way to test people's psychological barriers to suicide and staying alive, I don't even consider myself a conspiracy theorist at all, I can't stand conspiracy theorists to be honest with you, but I feel like this is definitely a method to keep people's sanity to a test, either they deal with being not medicated or end it all, that's how serious ADHD can be to somebody that is not taken seriously❤❤❤

    38 years still yet untreated. Just figured out recently that I might have ADHD. My doctor thinks I have symptoms of that. But it needs to be confirmed by a specialist. And getting a hold of them in Germany is hard.
    Interesting how you describe the grogginess. This is like the first hard test for me every single morning. To make it even out of bed. And my brain cannot think straight for an 1h or so. I need to wake up at 7 but I am not functional before 8:30 or even 9am. So I am always late to work. This thing has cost me several jobs on top of my bad attention, forgetfulness, and messing up on the details time after time. People have a terrible perception of me because of that. So hearing how the medication helps you to get out of bed when you need to is great news. I hope it will work the same way for me. But even if it turns out that I do not have the condition I now know by now that the situation is not normal, and that I need to find help in some shape or form.

    Inattentive type here, I've just tried elvanse 30mg for a month and dont feel its done much at all except increase anxiety a bit and some days a bit of fidgetting i never had because im too stimulated.
    Ive never got on with caffeine or felt the benefits of it like most other adhd people.
    Wondering if non stimulant types may be better and why they seem reluctant to prescribe them in the UK.

    Hi Olie I just started my elvanse medication 5 days ago 20mg. The first day I took it, it did feel like someone switched the lights on in my head and I didn’t have anymore intrusive thoughts and images which I always have in my head. But I did notice the slight come up from it after an hour or so and it only lasts for 5 hours and after I get such an increased anxiety and increased heart rate which lasts for 30 mins and after a crash. Is this how it supposed to be and will it get better those side effects as the anxiety and the heart rate feels like scary. Or do I need a higher dose?

    So I was not long diagnosed at 27, and early days of meds (concerta)
    First few days on 18mg I had this euphoric come up and super elevated mood throughout the day, went on day 6, and haven’t had it on 36mg either! Super gutted and wondering if this is normal because my belief is that means they’re not working properly.

    How long do you need to wait to get the diagnosis through NHS in the UK and how or can you go private and the cost ? If anyone knows answers please ???? Thanks in advance !

    • @matheuspereira8634
      @matheuspereira8634 5 месяцев назад

      My GP told me 4 years of waiting through the NHS.
      I had my assessment through a private psychiatrist. It cost me 825 pounds for the assessment and 110 pounds for the private prescription.
      During the titration period, I have to see my psychiatrist every two months, and that will cost me 150 pounds for a 15-minute appointment.
      After 6 months, my GP will take over on prescribing the medication, but I still have to see my private psychiatrist twice a year for follow-ups.
      Good luck!

      I’m 31, was on concerta from 13-18 years old and stopped as it made me feel Horrendous. Tried to go back on concerta after struggling with focus over the years but couldn’t get past one day on three separate occasions as it made me feel horrendous. Heart palpitations, very anxious, didn’t want to speak to anyone.
      Started Elvance 30mg and the first day was incredible, so focused with no side effects. All my tasks were done effortlessly that day. However, after that one day it done nothing and left me frustrated that I was back unable to focus. I’ve been upped to 50mg one week later and taken this today, again got a slight increase but still can’t really focus.

      Hopefully its not long lasting and getting better.
      I also have very nasty side effects of ritalin both times i used it, with a good 15+ years apart from each usage.
      But the guy in the video uses vivance which is a slow release form of Dexamphetamine and not ritalin.
      I now use generic dexamphetamine and have almost no side effects either besides a dry mouth and slight anxiety like a cup of coffee too many.
      I hate ritalin, it did what it was supposed to do only slightly and the migraines and physical side effects where atleast twice as bad as any good that it did.
