    So much good information. Great series. John and i learned so much about the macerator toilet from the three videos. We've been using pods but we won't any more!

    Thank you for breaking down this toilet. I have the same toilets in my 2020 Bounder 35K and really love these motorhomes and the floor plans are awesome. My toilets just stopped working and I believe its because of dirty black tank sensors. I will try to back flush the tank to get the sensors working again and your preventative maintenance plan sounds like the key to keeping these toilets working properly. Thanks for sharing you knowledge

      Thanks for watching Larry, the tank sensors on your 2020 Bounder are external sonic sensors they are not in tank. Try to reset the system by turning off the Aux battery switch for 30 seconds.

    Quick question for you my friend and thanks for the helpful vids they are much appreciated. You helped answer a question here about 6 months ago and I now have a different issue that has arisen so hoping you could help. I noticed that our foot pedal is now pointing straight up vertical so it’s hard to even grab without a weird angle with the foot to press it. The toilet is also flushing inconsistent as a result with some flushes using the added water and others being the dry flush without doing anything different at all. I am assuming this is related to the position the pedal is now in and wondering how it got there and if there is a way to get it back to the standard position? Any help is greatly appreciated once again. Thanks so much, Jake G

      Thanks for watching Jake, The foot pedal has a spring that returns the pedal, what happened is there is a plastic tab stop (on the foot pedal) that has broken allowing the pedal to go almost to the 90 degree angle. This is a common issue. Call Dometic and see if they will send you a new assembly.

    Is it possible to add a wall switch to the Masterflush 7640? I'm having trouble with the foot pedal switch (the cam & butterfly get out of alignment with the circuit board. The circuit board and switches are fine), and can't seem to find the replacement parts. Wiring in a wall switch would be one solution.

    • @johnherthe1193
      @johnherthe1193 2 года назад +1

      No it would not be, due to the circuits and 2 different flush modes. Try calling Dometic directly, they should have the replacement part.

    Thanks for the great video here John very informative and helpful information. I just recently returned from a vacation and dumped black water tank and flushed and confirmed empty on Precision Circuit Gauge. I went to add some happy camper powder as you recommend to keep tank fresh and toilet wouldn’t flush. I took covers off back of toilet and noticed a red light that would flash once when I tried to flush and nothing happened. I assume it’s the issue with the float from what you are describing here. Do you think it’s worth trying to flush the black water tank again to see if that fixes it before disconnecting the wire? Also, if last resort I have to disconnect the wire would there be harm in doing so? I assume it’s there for the reason of not overfilling your black water tank and this could lead to problems later on? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for any further help here

    • @thecasualrver
      @thecasualrver  Год назад +1

      You can flush and drain again, and also shut off the Aux battery disconnect switch for 20 seconds, I most cases that will regain the flush function. If that still does not resolve the issue, then disconnecting the yellow wire will be necessary. You will need to monitor the black tank level closely once the yellow wire (s) have been disconnected. Hope this helps.

      Thanks for watching Dorothy, Water is the toilets best friend, so you need to add more water to the bowl and flush a few times. I will tell guess how to use the system, that it's not like the toilet in your home.

    Hello John, great video about the macerator. I have an 2015 Newmar Dutch Star with an Dometic toilet with a macerator. Over the last several months, I noticed the water in the toilet would slowly drain out after use. I assumed it was a seal gone bad but after taking the toilet apart, I could see the leak in / at the macerator. I took out the macerator and filled it with water and it is leaking on the underside of the blades through to the motor drive shaft. I assume there is a rubber o ring or gasket under the blades around the shaft. Does the white cap on the blades come off? Can the blades come off? If so, what kind of tool do you need?
    Your help/knowledge is much appreciated.

      There are no seals not like the typical gravity dump or Vacuflash that holds the water in, The macerator pump is not serviceable, the pump itself would need to be replaced. I would contact AquaStar Distributors they only carry OE Dometic parts plus they are great to talk to about the issue. www.aquastardistributors.com/product-category/toilets-and-replacement-parts/macerating-toilets-and-parts/

    Hi John,
    I have 2 Dometic 7640 Macerator Toilets in my 2020 Discovery 38W. One toilet works great in both flush modes. The main Bath toilet in either flush mode does not maintain the water level. I have taken both toilet base covers off and I cannot see any difference in the installation. I do not see any water seepage on any of the outside of pipes. Could you advise me as to what I am missing and what I would need to do to hold the water level in the one toilet, Thank you , Vince

    • @thecasualrver
      @thecasualrver  2 года назад

      Vince, The discharge tube assembly needs to be straight up vertical coming out from the macerator pump, and not at an angle, if not it could work as a siphon and pull some of the water out from the bowl. there are no seals to leak pass. let me know what you found, it's an easy adjustment,

      I took both toilets apart and did not see any difference. I have 2 pictures of the toilet that does not hole the water. We still use the toilet it just does not hold water. I don't see any differences between the two toilets. How can I send you the pictures? Can you email me an link to send the pics?

      That depends, if the toilet is still flushing properly now, then it should be ok, just remember, make sure they are 100 % dissolved before flushing.
