    Thank you. I am beginning a DIY rebuild of a 1977 GMC Eleganza. I want to move the toilet location but have concerns about moving the black tank. Your comment about a macerator toilet not required to be over the black tank answered my question. Still a ton of research to do regarding which macerator toilet to buy, but relocation desire at this point empowers me to move forward with positive expectancy.

    The holding it down for 10 seconds, two modes thing I would’ve never known. Thanks for your video so much thanks!

    That was quite interesting. Seeing macerating toilets in more Rv’s lately, I think mainly due to the freedom of being able to locate a toilet against an exterior wall (outboard of the frame) or to otherwise avoid conflict between where you’d want the black tank vs hydraulic slide mechanisms and cross members.

    That plastic piece that was stuck in there looks like an invisiline plastic retainer for straightening out your teeth, they even have that little bar code.

    Working on that toilet is so much nicer than working on a regular toilet in a house. I originally was thinking are you crazy! But seeing it after the fact I can see it is so much easier! The difference in toilets really should be explained when you pick up the rig as that could be the cause of a really expensive bill.

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  Год назад

      Absolutely, agreed!! It's much simpler, and I was so glad to see that. I think that our tour guide when we picked it up mentioned it but we didn't go in depth because a lot of folks don't actually know what a macerator toilet really is and does! Until you get in to one like this, of course.

      I had a lot of concerns about them being complicated and having a lot of fancy parts that would be super expensive should something go wrong, but this has alleviated all of my concerns and I hope it can do the same for others!

    You may want to check into if it’s okay to put bleach down the toilet, I was told never do that to my boats head, vacuflush with a macerator because of the seals

    Wish there were more videos on macerator toilets. Issue I have with mine is it will not flush at all. I press the foot flush, but no motor sound and water runs, but does no drain even with valve open.
    any ideas would be appreciated!

    • @CozyLivingMachine
      @CozyLivingMachine  3 месяца назад +1

      If you pop off the cover to take a look at the control board for the pedal, it should show you a light that will blink an error code. It also may be as simple as a blown fuse or a blocked sensor telling the system that the tank is full. I would completely reset the motorhome with a full battery disconnect for 30 seconds and reconnect, then check all fuses, tank sensors, and then that little board for any flashing codes after attempting to flush.

      @@CozyLivingMachine Thank you so much for the quick reply!, I have a 2019 Bounder 33C with what I thought was a macerator toilet. Turns out its a Dometic Vacuflush toilet, but I'm still going to try your suggestions. Again, many thanks!

      @@vernonetheridge6359 that’s a completely different toilet system and you will not have results with what the author here has suggested. We have a Fleetwood storm with a vacuum flush toilet and getting rid of that and going with a macerator. Vacuum flush system require a lot of maintenance.,
