because that's not rock, that's shoegaze and they're actually pretty famous in their genre, but yeah, not as famous as the beatles or the rolling stones that everyone knows even people that are not rock fans, not sure why tho
nah.... they're pretty rated. Boo Radleys, All the Saints, Pale Saints, This Mortal Coil, Dead Can Dance, Jeff Buckley all more under rated than Ride. idk. They had a good run! I collected 3 eps when i was a kid in 91. Lost them all, somehow. So glad i can find the songs here
One of their most underrated tracks. It’s a shimmery summer slice of pop perfection. Brings back nothing but beautiful memories of Oklahoma summers. No school. Just driving in my beat up car, heading to Dallas to see them with Lush. Just a pure good thing.
Would you keep a room in your house empty and with the door locked incase one day someone wanted to stay their and tried to get in? I don't think so. If you wanted a guest, you would make the room nice inside and the door would be open. This room is your heart. The experience that you have described is clearly very painful and hurtful. These feelings will last, but they will also diminish if you try to keep that room in good condition for other people.

I dont belive somebody who really loved someone could put it in the past. It wasnt love. same goes for somebody who left you back. move on and realize it wasnt true love.
I used to sing this to my son to get him to sleep at night. The song is love. Pure and simple. I found the song on a Sire music sample CD called "Just Say Yes" or it was "Just Say Da", it's been so long I don't remember the title. Thank you Alan Mcgee. Thank you creation family for changing my life in so many ways from 1990-1998 I was transfixed and transformed never to be the same again.
I get you. I remember around 1996 I was rearranging my CDs and noticed that a huge amount of my favourites (then and now) were on Creation (Ride, MBV, Boo Radley's, early JAMC, early Oasis etc). What a label!
Liam Evans You forgot Slowdive, their album may not earn good reviews back then, but now they are true masterpieces and benchmark of the dream pop genre.
Oh quit being so prissy now the entire essence of the record is just simply embellished with magnificence and a unique enveloping magic which is undeniably woven together by each track. Perhaps the tracks could have been divided in half as parts I&II akin to chapters in a novel. I see the album or at least the second half as a story book of yearning for a long lost drifting love sequestered out at sea under a deep blue sky as the cover compels me to daydream.
This song, right here. My God... I used to listen to this with the top of my head pushed up against the boombox, eyes closed, and just... get lost. So good. So many incredible memories of the early 90's. I was a fool, I was young, I was in love. Man, life is AWESOME.
I remember being in Churchill, Manitoba one summer, I went on a bike ride during a sunny day, played my music on my headphones and went up to this hill overlooking the whole town and the coastline while this song started playing, one of the most peaceful moments I’ve had.
Wild being in churchill Manitoba as it is, even more wild of a tale considering there’s probably literally nobody who listened to ride in Churchill Manitoba 😂 next you gotta listen to polar bear by ride while watching polar bears in Churchill Manitoba 👍
Which one were you at? I was at both in NYC, Webster Hall and Brooklyn Steel. Was SO much fun! The Charlatans were good at both shows too, but... RIDE! Just awesome!
it takes 3 minutes for this masterpiece to be uveilled when the drums get in and then another minute before distortion makes it gigantic. after 5 minutes it becomes the greatest rock track you have heard.
I just realized why I love these guys cuz they picked up where echo and the bunnymen left off with unfinished business, these guys took it to another level!
I would say that Shoegaze itself is underrated. People who never got into it or have never heard of it simply don't know what they're missing. This is some of the most beautiful music ever written. Tell your friends!
Reminds me so much of being 21 in '90 and looking equally as young and playing Rickenbackers in student bands - these guys were simply awesome and a others have said, seriously underrated... Loved it then, love it now 30 years later
This track would sound great in a David Lynch movie. Especially the last couple of minutes where it goes really trippy. I imagine some seedy club with all those Lynchian colours and atmospheres happening on screen. Some scene from Fire walk With Me or Lost Highway maybe.
@@londonguy73 also closes the EP perfectly, as Vapour Trail does the album. I never liked The Fall EP but listening to Nowhere and then the Today Forever EP is just heaven. this is the best closing song

Great ending to an amazing album! I really enjoyed Ride's sound, it's like a different perspective on shoegaze, it's more alt rock like and closer to britpop. They're full of energy, nice melodies, outstanding drummings and beautiful guitar tones.
You know this is a great Ride song because Andy Bell stares blankly. And Loz Colbert is the greatest drummer ever. And Steve Queralt the greatest bassist. Period.

I thank God all the time for that. We were BLESSED :)

UK had the best alternative rock bands!!
Ride are actually Mesopotamian! Pretty sure the Akkadian language put out the tightest beats.....
I want to be young again. I was still sad back then. But at least I was young and sad.

These guys knew that Shoegazing was 80% in the songwriting, 20% in the sounds/effects. The songwriting is the key to great Shoegaze style music
You absolutely spot on. That's why I love Ride and Catherine Wheel - they knew how to write actually good song, not just bunch of noisy effects.
They balanced noise and melody perfectly
