I made this twice already, after seeing it on the site, my local grocery store didn't have beans that were labeled as barbecue beans; I used 'hickory smoke' beans, came out GREAT!! The 2nd time, in a bit of a pinch, I used the crockpot ground beef that I now keep in my freezer, instead of stew meat. It was PHENOMENAL!! Might get brave & try cut up pork loin next time; we here LOVE us some pork!
another delicious looking recipe,, thanks for yet another winner!
Look so yummy
So glad I got to see your Yorkie, he's so cute.
Awe Octi is so adorable. Yorkies are my fav dog breed. I used to have a 2 lb yorkie many years ago.
This looks so good!
simple but delicious looking. going to make this tomorrow. you make me laugh.
Twins! He's a cutie! The stew looks yummy!
OMG I love your doggie. I have a yorkie and Jack Russel mix. She is the love of our life.
"Dude, do not cut off your hand off camera, we need that footage." LOL Cris, you crack me up! Adding beans seems odd but I'll try almost anything! Hi little Octavius, tell your momma and daddy to give you a little scratch behind the ears from Crock Posse Kim! Thanks!
Too cute...the dog that is...LolStew looks so good.
I would love to try this but I hate beans. Is there anything else I can substitute with?
Can you do a video on how to cook a boneless leg of lamb. Never made it before but would love to try it in my crockpot.
can you cook on high for 4 hrs?
I did this recipe but mine was way more liquidity then yours what did I do wrong
i always use the polish sausage the best skinless cooks better for my taste
Yummy!!!! Awe twins!!!
What recipe would you recommend for sitting back and watching some episodes of Bonanza or some old westerns?
what about adding just a jigger of the jack daniels flavored whiskeys we have the apple flavored whiskey which i will try and let you know how it turns out.
Could you onion powder cuz I don't like onions great by y'all
Awwww what a cutie...and you are too Mikey LOL Ask Chris how long you would bake a Coca Cola cake in the casserole crock instead of using a 13x9 pan in the oven? Haven't experimented with conversions...my mind is too old and tired to bother :)
Cris says that you shouldn't use the casserole crock for this , but rather a regular one. The casserole crock tends to have a hard time cooking the center. A 6 quart slow cooker works best if it cooks evenly! ~Mikey
Looks delicious guy's. I think I would double up on the ingredients. That way you could eat on it for a couple of days. lol
I would triple up
cris in the background in the intro...lol lol
Was considering using (plain) canned beans + sugar-free BBQ sauce to lower the carbs (and sugar!) a bit, instead of a can of baked beans. Do you think that would work? Do you have an idea of how much BBQ sauce would be needed in that case?
+Nicole Mazza Not sure. As we've moved into the world of low carb/sugar free I've noticed a difference in flavor. If you try it, please let us know how it turns out.
Will do! Hope to cook it in the next week or so. :)
UPDATE: We made this the other day and it came out great! (Not sure what it would've been like with *regular* canned baked beans, though!) What I did for the "baked beans" was (roughly): 1 cup sugar-free BBQ sauce (I used G. Hughes Sugar-Free Hickory Flavored sauce), 2 cans of beans (pinto and kidney -- 15.25 oz cans), about a TSP of Liquid Smoke, about a TSP of Worcestershire Sauce, a small 8 oz can of plain tomato sauce, and some minced garlic (a TBSP?). I mixed it all up and let it sit in a bowl overnight in the fridge to let the flavors meld a bit. And then I used it for the stew. We all thought the beans were awesome and definitely a good low/no sugar option! :)
Well You Tube is acting up for me this evening. I can't hear anything on any video I watch. Everything else works just not You Tube. Will try to watch this again later or maybe in the morning.
I would eat that with the big wood spoon
I gotta go get me some cowboys so's to have a reason for making up a big crock of this stew.
Howdy ill take a big bowl please
Hmmm....good with homemade baked beans I bet! Molasses...salt pork....
Makes me think of Lonesome Dove... WITHOUT the fried grasshoppers!! LOL
OH!! OCKIE! With a tiny doggie cowboy hat!! He will come on the cattle drive; if we could have a horse-less drive, with only trucks & ATV'S, that is! (I have always been afraid of horses...)
2 thumbs up because of the co- host. He needs to co- star more often. Do you think corn would do okay in there for 8 hrs?
+Kimberly Pilkington He is one GOODe lookin' pooch! I don't think it'll hurt the corn at all in my opinion!
As GOODe As It Gets I found "Moonshine" BBQ beans. Yoooou betcha imma use those!
where are y'all from?
lizstafford2013 they live in Indiana
Hoosiers, born & raised!
As GOODe As It Gets
vols:) born and raised! I love y'alls videos!! I would love to see y'all make a coconut cake in a crock pot.
you goofed, my man. ALWAYS brown your meat before slappin it in the crock pot. brown it in the same pan as some veggies (carrots, onions, bell peppers, etc). doesn't need to be cooked all the way through, just a nice color and get it warm. you get a lot more flavor and the meat is even more tender.
priceless I love your fur babies name Octavius... I have three shih tzus a female named Isis my oldest boy is Osiris and my youngest boy is Aries.... I love the fact that you guys included him in it I always listen for him clicking around in the kitchen floor with his toenails.. now my next question would be is what do you think about Mesquite flavored baked beans yummo
sharon Gypsy dove I think mesquite would be fine. I live the smoky flavor from it! Is it a sweet mesquite bean though?
Yes I think it is but if it doesn't turn out to be I can always add a sprinkling of brown sugar.... as odd as it sounds I love Hickory but I have found that the beans that they put Hickory stuff into are too strong for me or maybe the word I'm looking for is too sharp... I do have Hickory and Mesquite flavoring here that I add to my brines when I make brisket and turkeys and jerky in my smoker I can probably just buy regular canned baked beans and Doctor them up...
I love yall's videos but I wish the wife was in the video, it aggravates me how she corrects you and talks over you, I know that's part of the charm, but sometimes comes across as negative, however, love yall!!
Was not a big fan of this one. Maybe it was the baked beans I used
Stephanie Kopf What kind didja use so we can avoid'em?
Mikey, Mikey, Mikey, you didn't wash your hands after you touched the raw stew meat!!! Shame on you!!
