    Thanks sharing. Great video. I've acetone, oven steaming and boiling. Oven is the fastest but the fumes, acetone can melt your vintage wheels and steam is just hard. Definitely think boiling is the easiest.

      Thank you so much for watching! 🫶 The baking method for me is a huge no go. There just seems to be so much wrong with that method in the way of fumes and it doesn't seem safe to me to bake non food items and then through food in the oven 🤷‍♀️ Boiling has been the method that I have been most comfortable with and has worked 😊

    you did a great job. I also have a set of wheels that I can save using your method. As for your question, I have the small 105mm Voodoo KLR tires on my TRX4. They are a bit too small for the huge wheel arches, but to my European eye they look more realistic.

    This an excellent video. When I saw the title I thought it would be video to preserve the wheels. I race r/c cars and often times the tires wear out, especially running in a parking lot series. But, the wheels are still good. Your method works extremely well for preserving tires. We occasionally break a wheel or strip a wheel hex and the tire is still good. Your recipe card method of instruction is excellent. When you finish removing the tire is wheel still good? Thanks for sharing.

    I've found using bob Smith industries un-cure glue remover works even better. Put it long the bead of glue wait 5-10mins then start removing u can hear it crack and crunch loosing the glue and its way faster . And it's only around $9-$12 a big bottle. The beadlocks on both trucks look great. I'd try crawling w/the tires 1st see how they do compared to the canyon trails B4 I switched back. Good luck.

    This method has been around forever as have the acetone and baking techniques. Btw, you don't immerse the tires/wheels in the acetone, you keep them elevated above the acetone and let the vapors do the work (hence the 1-2 days of waiting). My favorite is the baking method, it's really quick and works GREAT but since you're averse to that I won't bore you (and it does stink the house up!). An alternative, if you're not reusing the tires, is to cut them off the wheel, right at the rim, so there is a small piece of rubber left in the channels. Then, soak the wheels in acetone for about 1-2 hours and the remaining rubber and glue will come right off.

    • @RCprincess24
      @RCprincess24  3 месяца назад +1

      I must have misread then, when I googled way back when the first time I wanted to unglue, it specifically said to submerge the tires till they were about covered. I should maybe brush up on todays methods 🤔 I knew I wanted to preserve the tires which is why I went with this method, but thank you for the suggestion for when I don’t need to preserve the tires! Thanks for watching! 😊

    Or stop the games completely and buy bead locks. I like being able to change when I want and skip the hassle of tire gluing!

    • @RCprincess24
      @RCprincess24  2 месяца назад

      So the point of this video was I had two trucks that came with stock glued tires and wheels. The TRX4 sports come with glued canyon trails. Love canyon trails, not so much the wheels and I wanted bead locks on the canyon trails. Hence the point of ungluing the tires. I agree bead locks are superior which is why I unglued these to use the new bead locks I bought. Yes I could have just bought all new, but that seems wasteful and not everyone can afford to buy new tires, wheels and foams all the time and I wanted to showcase a way that does not require all that. Hope that helps 😊
