After watching your video , and a few others. You guys gave me the confidence to remove my tire from the rim which had a bead leak on it. I was finally successful and cleand up the old rim and treated it with Ospho which is drying over night and then I can paint it all over before I put the tire back on. Thanks Samers!! It is for a wood splitter that I have restored. LOL

I use the receiver hitch on my SUV as the weight. Scissor jack base is exactly like a wheel presser foot. Toss the deflated tire under the receiver, place the jack and give it a few cranks.

Wow...I watched 4 videos of people using 4×4 wood and a vehicle, a scissor jack under a car and a floor jack with ratchet straps. Each one had me cringing thinking something horrific would happen. But this video with the wood form and rod with scissor jack is an engineering marvel that tops all I've seen. Good job!! I may go high tech with mine using a longer bottom wood to keep the complete tire level or add angles to that to keep it from rocking. This idea will cause me to stand the tire up, put the wood thru a spoke and lay it down level. We'll see how it goes?

This is a great video, I watched dozens and this is very promising and very economical. Don't listen to all of these RUclips Monday quarterbacks. If they had great or better ideas, they would not be up on RUclips making negative comments. I was looking for a solution to avoid going to the tire shop to change out 4 tires. I also did not want to spend $100, or $200 on the Harbor Freight specials, only to modify it, use it one time every 5 years. Shade tree mechanics and weekend warriors buy these, not your professional shops. IF I build this and it does not work that great, its not like I am losing a lot of money. Its worth a trip to Menards. I even have a jack that uses a bolt so I can use my impact gun.

Just stellar! I've just watched about 8 videos, and this guy gets it. And makes that wood frame and bolt setup to do it better, and more accurately than driving a car onto a long 4"x4" piece, or to struggle too long with screwdrivers without using that small block of wood for leverage, etc. Some forget to use soapy water. Others forget to put something down to protect the face of the alloy wheel. BRAVO!

I modified your design a bit, using 2 M6 threaded rods as side columns because I didn't hace wood long enough, and putting two big pieces of wood on the top and the bottom (without threaded rod there, but my jack is a bit different to yours), worked just as well, and can be taken apart pretty fast :D

Nice job! I do this same way, 20+ years ago.
    1. Your tire is soft, its more easy to do this.
Try this metod with soviet old tires)))) or when you outside in winter.
    2. Some time tire "glued" to rim wery strong and you must put the bar below the jack.
