Wood is a lot more resistant to compressive forces when you put the grain vertical instead of horizontal. This time it worked, but who knows for next time. Try it the other way and you will notice a difference.

Do not do this to a nice new alloy wheel, unless you desire many scratches and loss of paint finish. Now you will need to get your wheels balanced since have different tires. Also some risk of damaging the tire sidewall strength and seal. This method does work if you are in a quick Do-It-Yourself fix without going to a tire shop.

I have these all over my house. This process looks pretty tedious guess I got alot of work to do lol
