Great video, keep up the good work! I'm from the UK and into quite a few forms of RC racing, But the biggest thing I struggle with is setup. How about some in depth videos/series on how to setup a car? like how you would go to a new track with a base setup and what you would change and in what order, some footage of what the car is doing wrong and what to change etc?
Good stuff. Really enjoy the trick with the heat gun. So many tires I've purchased from any manufacturer has that dust on them. Such a pain to get off.
@@spencerrivkinracing I bet when you became a pro driver you never thought spokesperson, director, editor, and set designer were also part of the job! 🙂👍
Interesting, I have known for a long time now that you are suppose to glue the bottom/flat side of the bead and I have tried to a few times and I have actually ruined a few tires trying to do it. I end up getting some glue on the side wall of the rim and when I let the tire go back into the rim, it catches on the glue on the rim and instantly bonds and the tire bead is not seated in the wheel properly leaving a lump on my tire. I really only glue the side walls on my 1/10 tires. I never had a tire come unglued on me but I’ll try to glue the bead again next time I am gluing up some tires; thanks for the tips
Hi Spencer, I'm great fan of yours from over here in the UK. 1. Can you do some vids on front shock positions on the arms and towers,, what effect this has on the car on high / low / slippy / bumpy tracks. 2. Lengthening and shortening the front turnbuckles,, what effect this has on turn in. Over here in UK we mostly race on Astro because of the weather, mostly 2wd B6.1, very little 4wd stuff, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Tommy
Hey Spencer. Your videos are great and are full of good information. Just wondering if you can make a video on shock building. Keep up the good work and good luck on your next races 👍
Do you suggest the heat trick for other tires like the carpet /astro units. I notice mine are always coated in the white stuff. Do you not clean those as well?
Spencer put a light (same light you have on your left and right) on top of your camera the lights on your left and right are good .. I think you need flat lighting for this type of videos... just a suggestion . Awesome videos... BTW... do you do the same thing with outdoor tires for wet tracks like Hot Rod Hobbies Raceway?
Hi Spencer great video, very helpfull, if you can do a video sometime on esc settings(boost, turbo, frequency brakes ect) that would be awsome. Many thanks Steve.🍻👍
If you have a clogged tip, put it in a container with acetone on a rack above the liquid level with a sealed lid for a day and the fumes melt the glue. Same concept for removing tires from wheels
When I wipe the excess glue, some of it gets on the tire sidewall, is hard to remove before it starts to dry, and rurns whiteish. Looks ugly. Any tips for that?
Holy crap it's a magic heatgun! O yea and also has anyone ever experienced when wiping the glue with normal white paper towel the glue heats up so hot it burns?
Great video Spencer! Wish more pros took the time to do this for the club racers and fans of the hobby like myself. IMO Ryan Harris has great production quality, i know his a big Peter Mckinnon fan who has some great tutorials on everything from lighting, camera settings, audio to editing. Worth checking out his channel if you havent already!
One year later of me beginning to learn these things, and I came back to recap. You could update this video for content with a slowed down version with better camera angle of inside and side wall glue process. Thx 😁
The hole punch is for what reason and the two holes in the tire do what????? Dude enough with Facebook WTF are the two holes in the F IN tire for please enough with the Hollywood BS
Tire ballooning is caused by centrifugal high speed rotation , not air pressure We need a tire company to build 2 ply or 3 ply tires That would help the problem
@@Ledsrule1 rotation causes the ballooning, the holes allow the air to escape more quickly when the rotation slows so the balloon deflates faster. Hope that makes sense.
That world champ flex intro 🔥🔥🔥
can't flex like that yet ryan
Flexers recognize flexers from miles away.

Great video 👍🏼👍🏼 Mabie tips on transmitter settings on next video 👌🏻💯
What's the purpose of punching the holes in the sidewalls? Do the holes in the rims not allow enough air to be displaced?
Good stuff. Really enjoy the trick with the heat gun. So many tires I've purchased from any manufacturer has that dust on them. Such a pain to get off.
Nice work. Thanks.
Cool tip with the heat gun! The videos are coming out with really good quality. Nice work!
Thank you so much! Trying my best

If anyone is curios acetone really really really does work very very very well. Like melting ice off windows of cars during the winter time.
Great video. Tire prep would be a great video. Keep em coming!
Thanks for the Info Spenser! Neat tire Gluing tip's! I need one of those glue tip's!

Great video .How mm is the holes? and should i cut holes for 2wd front tires? Thanks
Love the videos! Keep them coming! It’s interesting that you don’t punch holes in the foams or cut V’s in them.
BaboonMF but he still punched holes in the tires?

I'm in UK too and 4WD appears popular to me, are you talking club or regional level?

I would like to hear your thoughts on the TLR tuned Typhon.. enjoyed your video man there is more to racing than you think.lol
Very nice 👍 great video! Keep them coming!
what do you prefer running at hobby action? the gold ellipse or aqua? that’s my local track as well.
Thanks Spencer great showing 👍
I love the illustrations, I run a rc8b3.1 keep it up big fan of U,by the way I run Dirt webs, lol.
Spencer bro, great vids, hey up here at LSR we run silvers, heat gun ok on silvers or only heat golds?
Thx man great video helpt me a lot😁
Hey Spencer have you ever done short course truck tires they are pretty challenging? Looking for some tips and tricks?
Do you suggest the heat trick for other tires like the carpet /astro units. I notice mine are always coated in the white stuff. Do you not clean those as well?
I was wondering the same thing. Do u do the same thing for the other compounds out there? I run aqua compound
Thanks for the video, really helpful. 👍👍

acetone melts certain plastics
Thank-you, great video
Probably best to do the heat gun before the foam goes in, no?
Would you recommend gluing sidewalls for 17.5? Or mod only
Hey Spencer do you have a link for that heat gun. Thanks

Thanks for the vid. Is there a reason you puch a hole in the tire?
It’s so it can breath and not blow up like a Balloon
Going to be doing my first club race at HA tomorrow night. How should I prep my tires tonight Liquid wrench?
Awesome man! Yeah use LW Yellow and let it sit for 15min. Every time you run
Hole punch the sidewall or right into the tread?

wins world champion status, youtube videos at sub 1k. this is almost not fair, i wish pro racer videos would end up getting way more popularity
Thank you

Oh yes, that has happened to me but with the blue towels, if you get it glued onto your finger; yea look out for that
New to rc racing, what are the holes in the tire for?
For venting, to let air in and out
Great video Spencer! Wish more pros took the time to do this for the club racers and fans of the hobby like myself.

Why the holes on the side? (and why on a single side?)
What model heat gun is that please?
One year later of me beginning to learn these things, and I came back to recap. You could update this video for content with a slowed down version with better camera angle of inside and side wall glue process. Thx 😁
Why put holes in the tire?
What is the hole in the sidewall of the tire for ?
It’s to help with air flow so the tire doesn’t balloon.
It’s never worked out that way for me
How long do you let the medium glue dry?
I would just keep an eye on it. It really depends on the temperature. There’s no set time limit.
Tire break-in video??
your RC stuff good , could use a much better mic for vid
how did you get the thing from 7:56 ???
the blue one
All tires should come premounted
Do you have a job?
The hole punch is for what reason and the two holes in the tire do what????? Dude enough with Facebook
