    The soft side of a small piece of Velcro (or a small chunk of tire foam) works great as an applicator/sponge and allows you to control the CA without the risk of it running down the tread or face of the wheel 🤙

    We use Gorilla Super Glue brush and nozzle. Just brush it on, spray accelerate/zip kicker like spencer does here in a cup or container. Dries clear. Works good

    Silicone camping cup from Walmart will work for onroad all the way to 8th truggy tire gluing when using kicker. Just something small to add to your bag that definitely helps

    I'm a big fan of the glues sidewall,
    gives it that little more rotation without the traction roll.
    Hey it was a pleasure to meet you up at PDXUnderground,

    Hi Spencer. Thanks for the video's it's great. Question for you is why do some guys run front tyres without inserts or half inserts and 4WD front inserts in the rear tyres . What will this do to handling of the car. Thanks.

    On 4wd do you do the rears too,,

    The cup trick.. . so using that. Keeps the kicker from getting all over the place.

    Are both sides of the tire glued to prevent traction control or just one side?

    I am having traction rolling issues with my stadium truck, would using a closed cell insert be an option or is gluing the sidewalls a better option? Or maybe try both?

    So in the case of gluing all the way up into the tread... if you know you have to do that could you glue the inside of the sidewall and just the outer sidewall leaving the tread of the tire clean and achieve the same result?

      @spencerrivkinracing 2 года назад +2

      The way it’s shown on the video is the best method. The glue helps take away front traction in this case which is what we are looking for.

    How often do you reglue on the side walls?

  • @sotorc1448

    How long does this take?? Too glue and dry completely. Also just the fronts right?

    This might sound stupid i just started into rc so do you still glue the tires like normal and then do the side wall. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

    • @glavos7536
      @glavos7536 2 года назад

      Yesh you still glue the tire on the wheel as normal. This trick is just an addition to tuning your car if it's too twitchy or has a tendancy to want to flip in tight corners.

    Stupid question, all 4 tires?

  • @Hondeer
    @Hondeer 9 месяцев назад

    Why though? Couldn't you adjust roll center and caster to take full advantage of the carcass or is it a 'cheap' tire with a flimsy outer sidewall? Why not make the sidewall stiffer on one side? Fuzzbites are directional as is.

    Does that work good for off-road racing also or just good for carpet?. And is it only a 1/10 scale trick or can you use it on 1/8 scale Truggys too?

      I think for all high traction situations it should work well.

    • @bigbuckoramma

      This is primarily going to be a carpet thing. I can't see many situations there this would work on dirt.
      The main reason that I understand for doing this, is that it prevents the sidewall edge of the tire, from folding under, and causing it to dig into the carpet, and traction roll.
      By applying the glue, and creating a glossy surface by utilizing an activator, first the sidewall will be less prone to fold under from being stiffer which will reduce traction. Secondly, with the smooth surface, the tire will have a tendency to slide over the carpet, rather than dig into it, further reducing traction mid corner. This not only prevents the car from traction rolling, but also reduces the amount of steering it puts on the outside wheel, effectively numbing the car a little bit, and making it more forgiving to drive hard at the absolute limit.
      Where as for something like indoor clay where we are running full slicks already to try to get more grio, unless it's REALLY gripped up, there isn't much need for trying to reduce front grip. Though I am sure some have done it successfully. Personally, I don't see the point, when I can do plenty of other things to numb the front of the car, that don't involve reducing mechanical grip.
      For 1/8 scale, the hot ticket is foam gluing, helping to reduce the slip angle in the tire, making it feel more direct.

      Yes I’ve used this in off road, mainly four the 1:10 slick track racing. But can be Applied for 1:8 too but not common.
