More pro racers need to do these kinds of videos. Love how polite, helpful and humble you are. Its rare to see in alot of people at the top of their sport unfortunatly. Think you and Ryan Harris should colab on creating a perfect audio/video rc vlog setup for you. Keep up the great work.
Please do a video on how to make slicks from regular non-slicks tires and also on how they are preferred over ready made slicks. Thanks for this great video!!!
Would've been funny if you walked into Home Depot and asked the guy, "Excuse me sir, can you tell me where you keep your Pro-level RC tire sanding machinery?"
I figured you’d like that ;) As I said in the description, I wasn’t able to add that part on how I make Slicks. It just got too long. BUT, it will be in my very next video! :)
Great video Spencer. I have always sanded my tires in one direction I have never tried sanding in the opposite direction. But makes sense to keep tread height even.
love the video... keep those tips coming. Would be cool if you record yourself during a race showing us the progression of your setup from qualifying till the main.
No worries on the “interruption”. You picked the power tool brand of champions! How appropriate. 🙂 Since you were talking about tires, I had a question about tire selection. When you go to a new track, how do you decide what tires to start with? Do you field suggestions from any available local team drivers, or do you have a base tire/compound that you always start with based on the track tape?
Great question, I first like to ask the locals to see what they say because they ultimately know what’s best for their track. Or I would look at data from previous races there and see what it shows for the best option
Thanks for the reply! I had to ask, because I’m getting ready to take up the hobby after an almost 20 year hiatus, and even then, I could probably count on one hand the number of times I ran off road (on road was my main discipline). For my new RC life, I really want to give off road a try, even though I also plan to race on road again. As it was back then, off road still dominates in popularity when it comes to racing.
20 bucks says the drill didnt die yet its a loose connection. You cant kill a dewalt drill that easy.. And it worked and then stopped. Dude you can fix that shit EZ. SOLDER the wire that fell off inside the drill. They are super simple inside to work with. Awesome vid though!!
Chris Green if the rules said straight from the bag how would it be better? You still have different cars, motors, esc, lipo, spring rates etc. End of the day the above items might be out of reach due to cost, beyond a racers control... something like sanding tyres is in my opinion like setting camber, toe or ride height. It takes time but costs next to nothing and the guy that wants the win the most will put in the effort...

Pop pop Panda King, great video, your dog gave your drill his eye powers, no more sound you will make :-)

Thanks for the great advice Spence! I like how your doing your own videos without sponsored content. Keep up the great work and keep the vids coming!
Great video. Very informative. Now my dad and I can properly break in tires
Glad I could help!
Informative and entertaining. I think the dog broke the drill.
Loved the tag along to home Depot 👍 But what about slicking them out 😥

Spencer Rivkin what was it u was saying about why u prefer grinding down tires to make slicks vs just running purposely made slicks?
Great video Spencer. I have always sanded my tires in one direction I have never tried sanding in the opposite direction. But makes sense to keep tread height even.
Awesome thanks u for take time out of your day to help racers
Awesome drive along to H.D. makes me now wonder how many Ryobi Corded drills that will be sold due to your great video and tips... keep it up

Great video.. Do you prep the foam at all? cut ribs? punch holes?
Awesome thank you…!!!

Cool video Spencer! I need my car to hook up on the curves!

Hey there, did you sand/scuff your holeshots for the worlds?
Where can I buy that adapter for the drill?
“Oh hello... didn’t see you there... Hi, I’m Spencer”
How do you cut foam inserts for more tracktion
Can I just use a sandpaper sheet?
Spencer Rivkin I looked you up on Facebook and sent you a question via PM. Looks like you are in my neck of the woods.
How many runs do you get from a set?
chuck leinbach same question from me Spencer.
@@rbc626 I don't think it will be a good answer.
Could you do a video on how to build the shocks on a b6.1?
It’s coming :)
Yes please
What tires are these?
Would it be possible to do a video on the dog please.
I like the part with dog
Dog got your drill man, he really didn't like it.

Why not mount the tires on your car and go drive it a bit on the pavement?
Tyres should be used from the bag not this much faff!
There are definitely some steps, but if you want to be competitive, this is simply what you have to do.
But if the rules said tyres from the bag then this should make it better

Ryobi drills suck!!! Porter cable makes good stuff if that ryobi goes bad on yuh. Just my opion as I've had several ryobis go bad!
I love mine. I’ve used mine thousands of times now. Works good for me. Lots of others have them too and people like them.
@@spencerrivkinracing Ryobi needs to come in and sponser you guys.
That drill purposely waited until you made a video to do that…jus sayin🤷🏻♂️
