  • Here I show how to avoid getting cement stains at the base of fence posts during installation. This is a common problem when using a dry cement mix such as postcrete. You can obviously use a hose or bucket of water to wash off the concrete, but these are not always available and also they tend to flood the hole with water which can create a proper mess and actually weaken the mix.
If the posts are installed and the concrete is left to completely dry out on the fence post, it is nearly impossible to remove the stain and can look very unsightly.
The best way I have found to combat these problems is to use a small portable water sprayer. This creates a small high pressure jet and totally washes off all the concrete without flooding the hole with water. It works very well for this and is very cheap and extremely portable.

So basically you just wait for the postcrete to set off a little and then spray with water is that portable jet washer :) ?

Yes, my own portable jet wash πŸ˜‚ Seriously though, the point of the video is to show a handy little pressurised water dispenser that totally washes off the concrete when installing fence posts. If you use a hose (if available) or watering can / bucket, it just ends up flooding the hole with water and creates a right mess. If you use this little dispenser, it is so much easier and does not smudge or smear the cement into the wood which causes stains.
