Those jaws on the handle side are used to pull the wire tight when you're trying to tension it. Placed against a post and draw the wire up (usually barbed wire)
DeWalt makes a good one too... It'll go good with your 16oz DeWalt hammer. FYI... If you're a contractor or handyman who works on mobile homes these are a must. They have staples top to bottom
My stepfather has a couple pair of (probably) ChanneLock brand fencing pliers. I've spent several hours using them, and they have saved my fingers a number of times!
The video is great, this kind of tool is still very practical, not long ago, I bought a renhotecic brand pliers, it is very convenient to use, it works very well. Everyone can use a tool
Those things are next to useless for most jobs, chap hardened material with a hammer and it'll shatter. (Seen it happen! ) Use as hammer to drive steeples every time . Knipex end cutters will remove steeples, cut any wire and sit in your back pocket, all for £15, just my opinion though! Good informative video!
Thanks for the comment, I only really use these for removing staples and cutting wire and to be honest. I think they are fantastic, especially for removing staples (the main reason I bought them). I don't use the hammer as it is not really meant to be used frequently, I think it is there only as a back up to get you by if you don't have a hammer with you. The wire cutter function is actually a lot better than I expected, they cut through some substantial wire due to the long high leverage handles. I have knipex end cutters too, but I think these are better at removing staples in my opinion but each to their own. Thanks again for the comment 👍
I dread to imagine how many times I've hit various pairs of these with hammers to get behind an over-driven staple or pull a rail off a post and I've never had a pair shatter. In fact I use them almost exclusively in that way, because on most makes I find the jaws aren't sharp enough to get in behind a staple.

I wandered what they were for - thanks for the comment ! 👍
Great over view of using the pliers with the usual excellent quality made german tool
Thanks 👍
The beginning of this video was me a year ago before I discovered fence pliers. On round posts driving staples is even harder without one.
Same here mate !

Orbis Fencing pliers are also well worth the money and also made in Germany. Good video.
Thanks for the comment, I will have to have a look at those 👍
Me gustó mucho el trabajo que realisa el producto
thanks
Very nice vid. Helpful tips. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful! 😀
I like the brand Diamond or Crescent. I'm not sure if I've seen CK in the US.
CK are German made and are readily available here in the UK. Thanks for the comment 👍
Are they made in China? The Chennellock brand looks the same and is made in USA. A nation with decent labor and environmental laws.
CK are all made in Germany
Learnt a fair bit - Thanks a lot
Thanks for the comment Gerard and I am glad the video was of some use to you. Thanks again for the comment, much appreciated ! 👍😀

Gad it was helpful and thanks for the comment ! 👍😎
Good video
Thanks for the visit and glad you enjoyed it ! 👍😀
...es un buen alicate ...pero el martillo necesita más práctica 👍🏼😉
Thanks Sergio ! 👍😃
Why’s your hammer got a hammer??
Because it is a hammer ? 😬
Reasonably priced wire fasteners you could put in with a drill driver would be nice.
Post bounciness is annoying.
Come on gripple, make something up.
Thanks for the comment
First mistake: staples should not be nailed with the grain of the wood.
Thanks for the comment
You need too learn how to use the hammer
😎👍

Dude really needs to learn how to use a hammer.
I'm still learning, just can't seem to get the hang of it 😜
Other then removing fence staples from wood post I found this tool worthless .. sorry !!
That is the main thing that I use it for too, but just thought I would show the other uses as well. Thanks for the comment 👍
They're great for contractors and handymen. Especially for working on mobile homes. They use staples in almost everything
I use it for everything. I even fixed my bike with mine.
Mumble mumble mumble...
Thanks !
