Thanks Gary Yes guess I caught you in time and thanks for the reply. I purchased a midi pedal that has 4 switches to use with my Nano. I’ll follow your instructions and hopefully it’ll work out great. Oh and by the way the Nano is a great sounding unit hands down.
Hola GAry! opdrias hacer u video sobre el cambio de bancos via midi desde una PC o Netebook ? Es muy facil de comprender cuando explicas los pasos a seguir. muchas gracias
Hello and thank you for the support! Please check out my example of using the Nano Cortex with a DAW, which includes sending midi signals to the device. ruclips.net/video/STofsEC8hFI/видео.html
Thanks for this info. I was wondering. I have a midi foot controller with an expression input. Do you know if i can connect the expression pedal to the controller and then assign it to level control?
@GaryWrightMusic figured as much. I did try the new mvave plus midi pedal with the midi host plug and was able to keep the expression and change patches with the mvave
You're welcome! Yes, the NC only support 64 presets in memory. I can only assume they are planning on further expansion of midi controlled features with the remaining values.
It seems Google doesn't know the difference between a 1/4in and 1/8in to 5 pin MIDI cable.. Any suggestions for the 1/4 - 5 pin MIDI cable needed for the Nano?
I know, right? Make sure to search for midi 5p to TRS. Here is an example. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/VMTCRR12--vertex-effects-vmtc-rr-12-1-foot-midi-to-1-4-inch-trs-cable
Great question! Unlike the Quad Cortex there is zero lag when switching between presets, both local on the device or via midi. I discuss the topic with some demos in my NC unboxing video too. Feel free to check it out!
Thanks Gary. Do you know if the Nano can act as MIDI footswitch? I have a few MIDI compatible Strymon pedals and I would love to be able to control presets within those pedals through the Nano. For example, I'd have a clean ambient tone using a clean amp capture in the Nano and specific presets in my Volante and Flint, then with one press of the Nano, switch to a heavy amp capture and different presets in the Volante and Flint.
It can only send from the Nano Cortex via usb-c. So your midi triggers would need to junction through a DAW first. Quite a letdown on the midi output front...
Is it possible for the Neuro Cortex to use a 1/4” TRS connection for the expression pedal while simultaneously using the USB-C port to receive commands from the Morningstar MC6?
Hello! Thanks for stopping by and a great question. I just confirmed that you can indeed send midi messages via usb-c to the NC, while using an expression pedal. The pedal is fully functional and the PC preset changes work without any conflicts.
Thank you very much for your reply. This has been very helpful to me. The Nano Cortex is an excellent product, and your introduction video was very detailed.👍
You definitely _should_ be able to. I am receiving my vp4 on Tuesday and can confirm for you. If you are looking for a straight cable to go from the NC to the VP4 , you will need something like this. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MBQtrEight--modbap-modular-audio-patch-cables-angled-3.5mm-ts-male-to-1-4-inch-ts-male-2-pack-5-foot-black?mrkgadid=&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=&mrkgbflag=&mrkgcat=&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=92700080454169776&lid=92700080454169776&ds_s_kwgid=58700008743176691&ds_s_inventory_feed_id=97700000007215323&dsproductgroupid=2309494159094&product_id=MBQtrEight&prodctry=US&prodlang=en&channel=online&storeid=&device=m&network=g&matchtype=&adpos=largenumber&locationid=9010670&creative=705256640092&targetid=aud-297527862170:pla-2309494159094&campaignid=21453452330&awsearchcpc=1&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiArby5BhCDARIsAIJvjISODPXSLWTE82eBt393Isepc7jvevWXEmAQ0Be4G93GyRZczHZiRD4aAuSLEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
I just bought the m-vave chocolate and it actually works wonders!! But I have a problem that I can't solve: the chocolate has 8 banks with 4 buttons each, so I can only assign one switch for the first 32 presets of the NC. Does anyone have the solution to be able to load the remaining 32? Thank you.
Great lesson your videos have helped me out man thanks
Glad to hear it! 🙏🏻
Are you going to make a video, demonstrating the process of setting an expression to perform single and multiple actions? :)
Great idea. Will add it to the list, once I am back in town.
Thanks Gary

Hi can you share the TRS/Midi cable you used? Thanks
I sure can!

Thanks for this info. I was wondering. I have a midi foot controller with an expression input. Do you know if i can connect the expression pedal to the controller and then assign it to level control?
Unfortunately, you currently have to make a decision on midi OR expression pedal control. So, this will more than likely not work.
@GaryWrightMusic figured as much. I did try the new mvave plus midi pedal with the midi host plug and was able to keep the expression and change patches with the mvave
Thanks for explaining midi on the Nano. Is 64 the max number of presets you can switch on the Nano? Midi PC messages usually go from 0 - 127.

How good/bad is the lag when switching between presets, especially going from a clean to dirty tone?
Great question!
Unlike the Quad Cortex there is zero lag when switching between presets, both local on the device or via midi.

Has anyone been able to issue PCs to a Nano Cortex from a Fractal VP4 and, if so, what cables did you use?
You definitely _should_ be able to. I am receiving my vp4 on Tuesday and can confirm for you.
If you are looking for a straight cable to go from the NC to the VP4 , you will need something like this.

I have confirmed this indeed works as advertised. I tested with the below cable sending from the VP4 to the NC.
I just bought the m-vave chocolate and it actually works wonders!!

Thank you.
You should be able to access any preset slots from PC 0-63. Are you only able to assign the first half 0-31?
That's right, it reaches switch 8D and returns to 1A.
If anyone could help me solve it I would appreciate it.
hi can you control the effects with midi ccs? like turning them down/up send trap tempo etc from an external midi controller?
You cannot. The only values controllable by midi receives are preset changes. Midi sends from the Nano Cortex are limited to USB-C output only.
@@GaryWrightMusic ok so i cant for example with an external midi controller turn the effects on and off control the delay mix etc etc
@@electronik808unfortunately no.
@@GaryWrightMusic Or even just enabling delay or reverb? Disappointing, but maybe in a future release
Does it have midi taptempo?
Unfortunately, it does not. The effects are not compatible with midi. The only control over timing would be with an expression pedal.
Thanks for the reply, keep us posted if they include the taptempo 🙏🏽
