    apart from the plug-in version sounding a little more stereo (my guess is perhaps you've panned the mics on the cabs?) they're pretty much dead-on. Contemplating getting one because I can't afford a Quad so thanks for getting me closer to making a choice!

    • @GaryWrightMusic
      @GaryWrightMusic  3 месяца назад +2

      They sounded pretty close to me in the room as well. I didn't make any changes to the mic'ing in the IR of the plugin, but there is a blend of two mics.
      I have a feeling the fidelity of both of those profiles being captured together vs hearing the subtle differences in the plugin itself.
      I am loving the quality of the captures so far. I don't audibly hear any differences in a few of the a/b capture comparisons I have made between the nano and QC.
      Maybe I should make a video outlining that too... 🤔

      I got a nano cortex today and I’m returning it. I thought it sounded terrible. Every preset I tried had a terrible feel. I don’t know if it was latency or what but I tried capturing my favorite plug-ins as well and it wasn’t even close. The captures lost a lot of top end and had a really artificial boxy sound. It was worth a try. I guess I’ll save the money and stick with plugins.

      The arrow is pointing to the headphone out, although the commentary says to use the output at the rear where you would plug into a monitor. Might be worth pinning that.

    Awesome video thank you so much I was just curious Is it best to shut the reverbs and delays off in the neural DSP plugin? And then just use the delay in reverb on the cortex?
    Also any tips when playing the nano cortex through a 1x12 when it's neural capture is usually stereo? Is there anything specific I should do with the mics in the neural DSP plugin?

    • @GaryWrightMusic
      @GaryWrightMusic  3 месяца назад

      Hello and thanks for the kind words! 🙏🏻
      You should disable any effects except distortion within the plugin, as the nano cortex can only support capture of overdrive pedals, amps and cabinets.
      The capture process is mono, so the approximation of what the sound is with stereo mics will be present, but won't be true stereo when captured. If you enable pingpong within delay, you can still very much emulate the stereo effect with a new capture.
      Hope this helps!

    • @dash4786

      @@GaryWrightMusic So what if I wanted a more accurate tone could I remove the distortion pedals in the plug-in, capture it, and then add a distortion pedal in front of the quad cortex? Would you think that would help an accurately getting a better tone instead of trying to capture the distortion as well?

    Hey buddy, thank you for your time! This is insane, how you do it to use this capture with a cabinet, connecting the nano cortex into the loop fx of the amp ?

    • @GaryWrightMusic
      @GaryWrightMusic  3 месяца назад

      Glad I could help! 🙏
      Yes, you can place in the fx loop, or even straight to the input. That would depend on the effect you are going for and the level of gain you seek.

    Great video, Gary!! Very informative. That's the kind of stuff I wanted to know on the Nano Cortex. Congrats.
    Question: Do you think is possible to capture a small plugins chain I use normally in Logic (a FX slot for some Neural Plugin EQ block + another FX slot for some Neural plugin preset ). Thanks a lot!!

    • @GaryWrightMusic
      @GaryWrightMusic  3 месяца назад +2

      Thank you very much for the kind words! 🙏🏻
      Yes! You can absolutely capture an fx chain (so long as it's EQ/distortion/amp/cab sim) within logic. I do this all the time on my QC, and confirm the same applies to the NC.

    Can you leave the "Doubler" on in the Soldano X VST when capturing dude?

    • @GaryWrightMusic

      Nope. It won't be captured correctly, unfortunately.

    • @chromebuoy
      @chromebuoy 2 дня назад +1

      @GaryWrightMusic - Thanks for coming back to me. I suppose you could enable it in your DAW if you were playing to backings and disable everything else in the SLO Sim whilst using the nano for Amp/Cab and effects and record that way. Sounds decent with the Andy James Plugin and then frees up a ton of CPU this way too if I just use a capture instead of 2 Amp Sims in my DAW.

  • @mgdew

    could I in theory do this with my QC as the audio interface, and use the chain back out of the plugin into usb 5/6 etc, then use a blank preset on the QC that has in set to that 5/6 and outputting to the capture of Nano ?

    • @GaryWrightMusic

    I'm trying to adjust the eq on a capture/preset I made and it's not saving. The way to I tested is to load a preset, change the TREBLE, etc, save, go to a different preset, then go back to the first preset and it sounds exactly the same as it did before changing the TREBLE. Is there some mode, etc I need to be in for these changes to be saved??

    • @GaryWrightMusic
      @GaryWrightMusic  2 месяца назад

      Sorry for taking a bit to respond. Nothing special that I am aware of. Are you sure you are actually saving the preset? Are you editing with the physical knobs or virtually with the app?

    When I try to do this all I’m getting is a high pitched ringing, do you know what may be causing that?

    • @GaryWrightMusic
      @GaryWrightMusic  Месяц назад +1

      I would start out by checking your input and output configuration in the plugin. Then check to make sure you don't have any input monitoring enabled on the computer.

    is it possible to capture a preset with doubler ?

    • @GaryWrightMusic
      @GaryWrightMusic  Месяц назад

      Unfortunately it is not. The only effect pedals that are able to be captured are distortion/overdrive pedals.

    • @GaryWrightMusic

      Once you have the neural capture loaded, you have access to the rest of the effects, including the built-in delays and reverbs.

      @@Ibawez_musicyou sit and wait for the device during the capture. There will be a minimal amount of audible noise at the beginning, followed by about 90 seconds of near silence.
