Standard E for fusion/rock/shred Drop D for ten year olds Drop C for teenagers Standard B same as E but more dynamic range if using 7 string guitar Drop A for edgy teenagers Drop G for not needing bassist anymore.
This is what I love about you Nick, it's not only thick riffs, it's tasty and "feely" and you can't but smile when you're hear the sh*t you make. Bravo! Thick Riff Nick is all you need a Thursday 👏
Man, I just know we grew up on the same music because a lot of your riffs on thursdays remind me of 2011 melodic metal like old Volumes/Elitist. Lots of pretty cleans with a fast catchy riff with the kicks matching to the chugs, with a hint of modern Plini-like solos. Love your stuff dude.
@@nickbroomhallmusic right? Also, I love that I heard you mention The Contortionist - Exoplanet once in an episode. They're from where I grew up, grew up in high school watching them play those tracks live for the first time. shit was wild to observe. So heavy, so sci Fi. Have a great day man! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Dude, this is my favorite. That melody structure has been my favorite to play for years. I love that Open, 2,4,7 scale with the added dissonance! I would love to jam on something like this.
at about 13:40 you hit a pinch harmonic on one of those first solo notes that i so desperately needed you to put in the final! fuckin killer as always though man
Killer track dude. I’ve got one of these on the way if nothing more than to capture the amps that come through for my demos. Oh and for the vibratos, I think it was Vai who said something to the effect of touching the string like you’d caress a woman’s delicate flower. Watching Steve’s vibrato 100% shows that much slower movement.
I think you should capture your 2010s Djent Riff setting on Neural Nolly X. I definitely think there should be more presets from the plugins captured for the Nano. I would like to capture all my favorite Nolly presets and even break up the gear pieces and capture them to mix and match later.
Hey Nick, I was at work today and we have a Nux MG-300 for sale, I gave it a listen and messed around with a few settings and I think you should give it a try for a video. Sick riff BTW
It'd be really cool for you to do a TRT focused on the drum plugins/libraries that you like. I love the way your drums sound. Have you used the Fairview kit from RS Drums at all? I'm interested in that one.
I've been thinking on pulling the trigger on this one, I have a dark terror as well and tbh I don't use it at all and bringing it back to life using the nano cortex would be something cool. Please make a video using the capture mode.
Great Video! Thanks a lot!. I would like to know if it's possible to capture a small plugins chain I use normally in Logic (a slot for some Neural Plugin EQ block + another slot for some Neural plugin preset ). Thanks again!
“I’m not ugly. I just need context.” Here’s your new justification, fellas.
😂
NDSP should have paid you to do the main marketing for this launch. an organic approach to what this can be used for
Like 99% sure they did, otherwise there wouldn't be links and such a focus on it in the title and whatnot
"Djent guitarist once again finds himself circling back to Drop G#"
E for thrash
D for grunge
C for metalcore
B for prog
A for death
G# for djent
....give or take
@@jnboveeE for thall (before pitch shifting)
@@jnboveeG for Numetalcore/Hardcore stuff

I appreciate the kind words, man! 🥹🤘

This reminds me of the first time I heard Volumes Via. thanks for the nostalgia Nick. you the man
One of my fav albums of all time 🙌

Kinda reminds me of Edge Of The Earth by Volumes. Sweet nostalgia ❤
Thank you, Nick, for every TRT!
sounded exactly like it I had to double take because this was on another screen and I thought I was listening to that song lol
Tune ended up sounding like a riff from 2010s era djent
Reminded me a lot of Periphery 2

When he busted out the clean octave tone I instantly heard Jetpacks was Yes
The golden days
@@akimbo.1887 same LOL
That clean has Tesseract stamped on it 😍
Kickass riff and video dude!
Man that sounds like a professional mix in the final song. Absolutely insane results
You did NOT watch the entire video 🙅🙅🙅🙅🗣️🗣️🗣️🚫🚫🚫🚫🚫 go back and watch that shit NOW 🔥🔥🔥
Your writing is bonkers man. I love these videos, super inspiring. Thank you dude!!
Aren’t they just? They never fail to get me in the mood for writing riffs and I’ve picked up some clever production ideas too.
I love the intervals in the “ugly” chords. The major 7th contains such heavy emotion when layered with its tonic
Dude, this is my favorite. That melody structure has been my favorite to play for years. I love that Open, 2,4,7 scale with the added dissonance! I would love to jam on something like this.
this idea absolutely must be made into a full song!!
Has to be hands down one of my favorite tracks you’ve done so far! Reminds me of early Novelists
at about 13:40 you hit a pinch harmonic on one of those first solo notes that i so desperately needed you to put in the final! fuckin killer as always though man
That comment is so true
I second this comment. So true
Absolutely...beautiful! 😢❤

Sitting in my studio and watching this video feels like looking over the shoulder of a good friend. I love it!
Thick Riff Thursday has become my morning coffee...Sick video Nick! You've helped inspire me to start making my own music again!
Love watching you cook man 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Easily one of my favourite TRT yet! Loved this, and might have to invest in a Nano Cortex!!
That solo was insane 🤯
That riff brought me back to my college days. So awesome and thank you for the demo of the Nano Cortex. Amazing work as always
Mannnn that solo was unreal Nick! Loved this one! 🤘😎🤘

Dude that solo so so Andy James and I am all for it
This just answered what I wished, I just wished the Ndsp would come in a smaller size, and now here it is, defo getting this
Great work dude! Amazing writing and performance!
It’s such a dream wake vibe. Absolutely love it
What the hell, this may be one of the nastiest things you've written! Absolutely love it
Love the content Nick! Always looking forward to Thick Riff Thursday! We need a funky friday! Lol
Usually the chords with the "ugliest" tension end up being the most engaging. Killer riff as usual 🤘🏻🔥
Nolly X tones are so rich and full, so great.
Whoa, "Clean My Dreams" sounds great.
I haven’t seen anyone compare this yet but heavy old school erra vibes in this one! Shit is SICK!
that solo went kinda crazy! props bro
That clean tone is fire
The talent is real
At 3:38 all i can think is “i like your funny words magic man!”
Awesome
Sounds a lot like Angel Vivaldi, it's amazing. Love that solo section.
I too enjoy chilling on the flat 6th of literally every key
so good brother
Killing ❤
dude you are incredibly talented, your stuff blows me away. PS I really want a video of you capturing your Orange Dark Terror!
AND IT GETS DI !!!
I think you should capture your 2010s Djent Riff setting on Neural Nolly X. I definitely think there should be more presets from the plugins captured for the Nano.
I would like to capture all my favorite Nolly presets and even break up the gear pieces and capture them to mix and match later.
nailed it!
Gosh that tesseract tone!!
You're annoyingly good at these. ❤
THAT riff would make Aaron Marshall sweat...that was sick. Nice job!
Nick. This. Sounds. Awesome.
Damn now you made me want it more
oh yeah this going on the album
I hear the early Spiritbox but I can also hear a little for the fallen dreams in there too!
awesome!
Your writing is actually insane, solo reminded me of novelists 🤘
Jeez that was fricking beautiful🔥
Finally they didn’t send a QC but FINALLY!!!! You legend!
Seriously contemplating picking one of these up. I’ve been on the Helix but the app control is selling me. Sick jam as always brother 🤙🏽
Every single week!
Periphery vibes!!
Duuuuudeeeeeee Dope

I was really hoping today’s video would be of the nano cortex lol. Hell yeah dude.
love your vids dude. you inspired me to write some djent/thall albums
sounds sick
13:40 my jaw dropped…you are cracked my man 😂
Hey Nick, I was at work today and we have a Nux MG-300 for sale, I gave it a listen and messed around with a few settings and I think you should give it a try for a video. Sick riff BTW
The dude said he's not writing solos 😂 but it sounded 🔥 nice take on this one 💯
"Demure "😅😂
100% Dreamwake vibes!
This definitely gives me some Periphery vibes as well
Biiiiig Intervals A Voice Within vibes on this

If anyone ever asks me what music I would listen to all the time if I had to choose, I would show them this video specifically
Modern Day Babylon type bop
I’m getting some serious “Via” from Volumes vibes here
sick dude!!
This has some 2010 bulb vibes
I've been thinking on pulling the trigger on this one, I have a dark terror as well and tbh I don't use it at all and bringing it back to life using the nano cortex would be something cool. Please make a video using the capture mode.
Damn I'm so early.
This tone is so good.
Now do the exact same thing with a Joyo Cab Box.
Great Video! Thanks a lot!. I would like to know if it's possible to capture a small plugins chain I use normally in Logic (a slot for some Neural Plugin EQ block + another slot for some Neural plugin preset ). Thanks again!
I guess I gotta listen to Volumes. Sounds like Intervals tone a bit to me sounds great.
Would’ve been cool if they made this nano cortex just for all of the plugins only to play on the go
