I have a MC6Pro with my Nano Cortex and a H90 wired pre-post. The MC6 makes it all work, including momentary unlatched preset changes. It's a great little rig
I have not done a deep dive into the Nano Cortex to see how it functions & all of it's sounds, fx & capabilities. That being said, your reference to the Nana *not* being able to access all of the patches available is, to me, EXACTLY why I'd be interested in it. After years of fighting the modeler battle, being a necessary evil in direct church playing, I've *hoped* we'd see someone go for more of the "HX STOMP" approach to a unit, as opposed to the death star behemoth approach. The NANO is killer; your midi pedal expands it's functionality for the user. Perfect. Use 4 presets of go for more if needed. Now I will take a deep dive into the NANO; there are times, for me, 4 is all i need.....& then...there's that day I need more than 4. Bravo, Morningstar. I need to learn midi with my GT CORE & get this MC6 asap.
I use a Rocktron All Access midi controller with my Nano and it works great. I have 15 presets per bank at my feet. Saves wear on the rotary switches on my Nano as well.
Hello! This video is gold!! If I wanted to turn transpose, chorus, delay and reverb on and then off with my MC6PRO, could I do this the same way I did with the GT1000 Core? Or do they work differently?
Hi! The GT1000 Core has more extensive MIDI capabilities, and yes you can engage/bypass effects on it with MIDI. We explain that in our dedicated GT1000 Core video here: ruclips.net/video/SAxQemsuLCs/видео.htmlsi=q2vX5XA3TeS6avML
please could you add a command on the software to control UAFX presets via midi bluetooth would be amazing i see some people have created android app to do it , i m sure it is something you can achieve, if you do it every UAFX user will buy your controller that s for sure :) thanx love my MC8
Great unit.. but adding this to a Nano Cortex brings the price closer to a Quad Cortex.. but since I own lots of Neural DSP Plug-ins I might give it a try...
Great! So the solution for this pedalboard friendly unit is to buy another unit that is as big to control it, silly me... why didnt I think of that.....
@@MorningstarEngineering I'm sorry, but even if the MC6 Pro is a great piece of gear.. I think that particular contraption is not ideal by a good long shot... It raises the price to double and also the real estate needed, introduces cables and points of possible failure with that. At that point I consider myself better off with a helix LT or anything other than that nano cortex. But if other people love it that's great.
@@musicsurfandrats This is why I use all in one units. But for those who want to use individual pedals and don't want to tap dance then some sort of switcher is needed. Every setup has its pros and cons.
@@MorningstarEngineering That was my question too!... could you please help me understand what I'd need to do to make the connection between the MC6 (non pro version) and the Nano Cortex given the MC6 doesn't have the Omniports the Pro version has? Would I need a Midi to TRS adapter?

@@MorningstarEngineering OK, fair enough. Perhaps I came in with miscalibrated expectations - the way this was presented seemed to exaggerate the inconvenience/disfunction of the Nano Cortex - especially in regard to its lack of screen and its reliance on an app. To me, the deliberate choice to use an app instead of an onboard screen is actually far superior in terms of usability and efficiency of operation as compared with other many other similar devices with onboard screens. To overemphasize that as a flaw and to then represent your device as the solution seemed to me to be a bit disingenuous - that's all. No doubt yours is an excellent product with highly beneficial applications (and I'm certainly interested in learning more). Where’s the video on how to set up displaying preset names using the preset rename function?

With this you have access to 8 presets right? The 6 on the midi and the two on the nano also correct...
once again, you guys show how powerful your devices are and every musician should have one.

This seems like the perfect add on for a new Fractal product coming out…
👏great work, as usual!
thinking of getting one of these for the kemper player with all the new levels unlocked, will you do something like this for the KPP?
Pretty slick!

Hi!! does the mc6 pro maintain the spillover through changes of presets?
Preset spillover is the default for the nano cortex so adding the MC6 Pro shouldn't change that behavior.
@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios oh ok, thanos a lot for the clarify! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Can you do a video using MC6 pro with fractal VP4?
Did you have to name those presets on the MC6?, or do they just show up from the Cortex?
You have to name them on the controller
But how much is the midi controller….. I’m guessing it’s like 20$ in savings over the quad cortex?
Is the preset change through MIDI gapless on the nanocortex ?
Yes it is!

Yes please!
quick question, so since my main 4 presets will be IA IB IIA IIB, would i be able to use this additional footswitch to access them better?
Yes, you can access those 4 presets with a Morningstar controller, but also you can access any of the 64 presets on the Nano Cortex instantly.
@MorningstarEngineering tbh I'd only use the 4, thanks for the reply
Then what you want to achieve buddy ?

This is for user who are using the Nano Cortex with other pedals. The MIDI controller will be used to control multiple devices.
what kind of Trs cable is that ?? And where i can get one ? Thanks
That’s our own TRS cable design that we offer on our website but any TRS cable will work

Is not that this is unusual. This is unusual at this price point.
MC6 pro + Nano cortex + Pedaltrain nano = 1.89kg
Quad cortex = 1.95kg
Losing a tonne of functionality, for a saving of 60g?

Should have bought a quad cortex 😂
