Once again, Lorelai being completely selfish and rude. First, you KNOW what a Godparent is. You are not a child. And if you really didn't you could have looked it up before meeting with the reverend. To be so flippant and silly with him when Sookie chose you to do this is just rude. Then to walk out with the children in the middle of the ceremony on a hunch about Sookie having that phone number is beyond selfish. A hunch which was wrong!
@@debbieb1719 She was trying to get an estranged mother and daughter to talk. Hardly manipulative, especially when she was such a close friend. Also, Lorelei didn't have an issue with Sookie. She had an issue with Rory and while Rory had behaved like a brat, Lorelei had to be selfish as usual and make everything about her. Walking out of a ceremony to have a personal argument, like it was perfectly acceptable.
@@debbieb1719 honestly, you make a good point. The reason sookie wanted Rory as another god parent was because she wanted Rory and Lorelei to make up. Because Lorelei wasn’t gonna set a date with Luke on a wedding while she was still fighting with Rory. Sookie did this to get them to talk it over, she wasn’t thinking about her kids or her friends, she just wanted the wedding to happen as soon as possible. People hate on the Gilmore in this scene, but really Sookie only has herself to blame!
It's a comedy show. If Lorelei behaved all the time you would have a show about nothing, no one would watch. Any show or movie has characters that are deeply flawed or extraordinary and do/say things that most of us refrain from doing/saying. Nobody acts or talks like Lorelei or any of GG characters in real life. Nobody is that witty and funny and quirky or rude and neurotic. They are all caricatures, not full fledged characters. It's mind boggling to me how some of you take these silly shows so seriously. 😂😂😂 Of course she will go outside with the baby and give silly answers to the priest, she's quirky and funny, she's there to make you laugh.
@@al3220 but saying an actual MAIN CHARACTER in a show has that is a little stupid wouldn’t you say? and her world was rocked she thought sookie was speaking to Rory behind her back since she changed her phone number I wouldn’t really care about being a perfect guest at her function either.
@@alexisjane977 actually, no. It's not stupid. You are confusing main character syndrome which describes a set of narcissistic behaviors with the role of a main character in a story. A main character in a story does not necessarily mean they need to be narcissistic. These are two separate concepts.
I don't remember this epospde and I am horrified😮 How can you behave like THAT? As the godmother of your best friend's children? No matter how much you have your own worries, you have to pull yourself together for a short time. Just incredibly selfish. Could be a reason to terminate a friendship. Sure, it's just a TV show, but how can you identify with such a person or find them likeable?
Okay, so I understand why Lorelai did this as she was upset about Rory and the rift growing between them, but she could and should have waited till after the ceremony. Unfortunately Lorelai's an emotional person person and well... Edit: I just realized that at end, Rory attempted to offer an olivebranch to her mom and Lorelai rejected it. Poor Rory!
Seriously, they can't even be present for the baptism as God parents. I'm sorry, I know this is a show, but I'd seriously change my mind in the middle of the service about who my child's God parents would be. I can't believe that level of narcissism.
Even if they were on excellent terms with one another, this would still be the most awkward conversation in the history of both the Gilmore family and Stars Hollow. Unrelated topic, really, but just how far away is Stars Hollow from Sleepy Hollow and its resident Ghost Rider?
This show was set in Connecticut, iirc. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is set in Tarrytown, in the Hudson Valley of upstate NY-- Washington Irving is buried in the cemetery there.

The problem was Sookie using her kids baptism to be manipulative.
this is a really funny comment

I love Lorelai but she has such main character syndrome ALL THE TIME - even when it's clearly about her best friend's children and not about her!

This was when the writing went waaayyy off kilter. Lorelai in the earlier seasons would have never behaved like that. That's Emily behavior.

Lorelai's ugliness really showed in this episode.
Sad that religion is so skewed in media.
This show Lorelai is so selfish all ways
😅😅😅😅
I felt so bad for Lorilie she was missing her daughter so much

Lorilie 😂
Lorelai is a freak of nature. Never see such a selfishly written character
