I think I have had canenmial seizures. Because I had my first seizure when I was 17 years old. I had my first seizure when my menstrual period first started.

I want to add to my email. My menstrual periods was real heavy. My menstrual would stay on for 6 months. I had to start taking birth control pills to regulate my menstrual period. I have tried every type of seizures medicine I have a vegal nerve stimulator and nothing has helped me get my seizures under control. I heard about canenmial seizures on Utube. I think that is a reason I haven't been able to get my seizures under control.

I would keep a journal and see how you are feeling when your cycle is about to start. If you are seeing a pattern, write down the date, any symptoms you are having, and if you did have a seizure. I don't have catamenial epilepsy, but I had a bad hormone imbalance. I had a hysterectomy, which helped greatly. I would talk to your neurologist about it and if they feel necessary, your OB/GYN to see what options there are.
