  • Do You Do This in a Deep Clean? It's easy to skip some areas of the home because they are out of sight, but getting these areas means less dust in the room to breathe or that will be scattered around a room when the heat or air kicks on.

    After I do that I like to put newspapers to keep oils from penetrating the porous wood often up there. Then I can just remove, vacuum and replace next time. I have found the dust stuck to grease too many times, so difficult to remove from raw unfinished press board cabinet tops.

      Awesome idea! However, if it’s the first time going to a clients home and you do have to clean the tops of the cabinets, what do you find to be the best degreaser?

    • @LaurelCanyonMojo
      @LaurelCanyonMojo 10 месяцев назад +1

      @marian6542 I like a citri-solve type cleaner(an orange degreaser), undiluted. Extra water can kinda soak into a press board. It's a difficult task. Scrub with a brush, wipe up quickly with a big absorbent sponge.. rinse well with the hottest water.

    There's often so much thick greasy build up that I start with a plastic scraper with a wide blade.

    Oh I've got one! How do you clean those tops when it's that weird rough unfinished surface and it's become almost sticky or clings to the top? Probably from cooking and years of neglect. Something a vacuum won't suck up!

      Oh yes, it does and we don't realize it because we rarely take a look up there. Out of sight and out of mind. It gets greasy and gunky because it also collects dust. Thanks for watching!

    Absolutely! I actually hand clean and with soap and water as needed. My Swiffer catches most of the dust and a damp microfiber gets the rest.

    In my training, I was instructed to first scrape the top of the cupboards with a plastic scraper when doing so in a kitchen. Your thoughts?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  Год назад +3

      Using a plastic scraper to scrape the top of cupboards during kitchen cleaning can be a useful technique to remove built-up grime and dirt. It can be an effective way to ensure thorough cleaning in areas that are often overlooked. By scraping the top of the cupboards, you can remove any accumulated grease, dust, or debris that may have settled over time. Just be mindful of the type of plastic scraper you use to avoid scratching or damaging the surface of the cupboards. Overall, incorporating this step in your cleaning routine can help maintain a cleaner and more hygienic kitchen environment.

      @@ticaforever1972 If you have the budget, look into the Sebo canister vacuum line. They are premium vacuums with commercial grade components. I went with a premium vacuum after years of replacing.

    This doesn’t look realistic to me. The grease that you find up there 👆. Lightly going over it with a steam tool, wouldn’t remove. Are you just prepping before you scrub?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  8 месяцев назад +1

      It depends. Sometimes you need to scrub in addition to using a steamer, and in other cases, steamer works pretty well on its own👍
