Super super helpful. I ran my brand new Vorteks 3s straight into concrete at almost full speed and got out lucky - broken bearings on the slipper clutch, bent motor plate, and the feature part of the video a stripped spur gear. It was a total relief to just get it going again... this video helped make it happen. I'm excited to get back to bashing. Thank you very much for being intentional, slow, and descriptive of how this needs to go back together the proper way, from a newcomer.
Really good and well edited video but I absolutely hated the music I think you could do without it but if you insist on it turn the volume of it down 50% or more from this video. Thanks for the help with the spur I had no idea what I was don't
My arrma is a stock 2s NiMH 4x4... Whats the best way to upgrade to a 3s Lipo? Do i have to get a new ESC And moter? Besides just the 3s Lipo and new charger...
Man Ive done the spur rebuilt the slipper.. rear diff not the front diff and replaced the bearings in the transmission.. I cannot for the life of my figure out what is slipping . I can slam the brakes from full no issue no slip.. of ground and rev the shit out of it and its absolutely fine but from launch its screaming.. the transmission sounds perfect to me.. the diffs are working fine and aren't slipping.. to me it has to either be a broken motor somehow or they'res something wrong with the slipper I didn't pick up on... Driving me nuts took me ages to source the parts 😆
Oh and the spur at most has .2 play in it so I'm fairly certain it's seated right it's comming into each tooth seemingly well no catching or anything.. one thing I did note was rather then the top motor bolt and lower bolt are on opposite angles to where they are from factory.. didn't think much of it but with the 16t it was the only way it would let me get play in the mesh 🤔 I don't want to spend my weekend doing it again lol I wanna bloody drive it 🤣🤣
I am happy to help. Rapid direction changes can cause this so avoid trying to force a wheelie by going from reverse into forward. Also hard impacts can cause the motor to shift and strip the gears. On these models dirt getting up between the gears can cause accelerated wear and tear so make sure to blow out your model regularly.
@@Hobby365 Great advice, I'm guilty of rapid direction changes already. I have an Arrma Typhon 3s. Any reason to think a 11.1V 8000mAh battery is too much for this machine? It's the most powerful 3s battery I could find on Amazon.
@@justinroach768 no reason to think you battery is causing it. 8000mah is your runtime. Not your power output. 11.1v is the proper voltage for your model.
That is hard to describe in words, but I will do my best. The slipper should take alot of pressure before it slips. When it slips you want to see it kind of skip rather than slip. So apply constant and steady pressure to your slipper assembly and look for the Skipping slip. Hope that helps
I assume you are talking about the pinion gear on the motor. You could try some Loctite. Make sure all the threads are clean apply only a small amount of blue Loctite to the threads before installing the screw.

Showing how to set the gear mesh (not too tight, not too loose) was very helpful.
So glad it was able to help you. It is a difficult thing to describe best to be seen.
Great video and thanks very much. I am 68 years old with a new Arrma Vendetta (love it lol). I learned alot from your video.
Great video, you just saved me $40 by only having to buy the Spur Gear.
Phenomenal explanation…thanks! About to install the metal spur gear on my son’s Typhon 3S!!
you are very welcome. So glad to be of help
Nice mr philip I always have this problem and my dad is busy so now I know how to do this on my own 😎🏁

Thank you for your complements. I'm glad I was able to help you.
The spur bearing was really hard to get out of my old gear and had to be tapped into new gear. Yours just popped out lol
Nice walk through probably the best one I've seen on here. SUBBED!
You done a very good job just what I needed to see thank you. S.C

Nice video. It was a little hard to hear you because the music was a tiny bit too loud. Good job though 👏 👍!
That is great feedback and I will make adjustments for future videos. Thank you very much for commenting.
I kinda liked the music :)

How come you not upgrade to metal spur
Note: you should be able to put a piece of paper between the gears due to Plastic expanding when rotating.
Thanks, got the new spur in but when the car goes slow its fine but when i hit the throttle it pops sorta, brand new pinion, and spur, idk why
Check you gear mesh again. Sounds like it might not be quite right.
Seems it would be easier to take the drive shat off before prying the motor out ? Maybe not ?
I Cant take apart the spur gear because it seems to me that the senton is different from yours
Well done, brother. New to RC, and this happened. What type of driving causes the spur gear to get rounded off on the tips? Thanks so much.

How can you tell if that center screw (1.5 turns out) is too tight or too loose?

@@Hobby365 Thanks! That makes sense! I got it back together and seems to be running good 👍
Wish there was no music, so I could actually hear what your saying 😢
My gear just keep getting Loose and it does spins
