The Duro is a dead set legend and the default quartz, dive style watch recommendation for less than $100USD. But it is not the only watch in that category. Can the Timex Allied Coastline wrest the crown from the MDV-106? Well, no. It is pretty good, and ifyou can find one cheaply then it can make an excellent quartz beater. And don't forget the INDOGLO!!! But the Duro is still the king. For now. Cheers, Jody

I love it when somebody cares enough about detail to synchronize both watches. Props for you Jody 👍👍

I think the Timex has an absolutely amazing hand set, personally.

I have the Duro. It was given to me as a Father's day gift. It sat in my watch drawer for two years because I thought it was a bit plain. Decided to wear it one day and realized less is more. I really love this watch. One of my favorites

I kind of like the Timex better. The dial is more interesting/has more going on without being illegible. It might not be a proper dive watch, but it looks like a great desk diver. :)

That dial would give me a headache, Duro is a cleaner design. Timex isn’t a bad watch, but Duro wins for me

$50 absolute winner. $170 hell no! Love the design on it, has a bit more character than the Duro. I did enjoy reviewing the Duro though, brilliant watch for the price.

Wait...the second hand hits the minute markers perfectly?

The Timex is a great option but it's the Casio hands down for me. I prefer the cleaner looks and it's greater credibility as a tool watch.

I’ve owned this Timex in this very color way for a few years; I have over 200 watches in my collection; I pulled it out to dust it off and wore it yesterday. So it was a weird timely surprise when I saw my watch in your thumbnail. Jody, you are amazing and scary at the same time. (keep it up)

I have a 16 year old Timex Expedition, and most of that time it was my daily. With Indiglo it's still going strong with only 1 battery change. 50m water resistant, been swimming with it many hundreds of times (not scuba) and no leakage. So I don't expect this would have any problem with casual use in the water either.

I actually like the exact Timex you featured, especially at $50. And I love that handset and strap!

The Timex takes it for me because of the Indiglo feature. The one thing I always lamented in the 106 was that Casio removed the "Illumuninator" LED lights found in my beloved MDV102. This Timex, though I'm not a fan of skeletonized hands, will be a superior night read.

Another great vid Jody. Thanks for noting how they sound, a much appreciated detail. I honestly don't mind a quartz watch but it has to be dead quiet. I had a Timex Milano for all of a week before I let it go as it was so noisy at certain angles!

Great review as always Jody 👍🏻. I wouldn't worry about the Timex battery life. I bought an indiglo explorer for work about 7 years ago, im a welder so it's had more than average abuse 😂, and it's still on its first battery and still keeps perfect time. The novelty of using it as a torch soon wears off. Very robust watches are timex. 😁 Take care matey 🇬🇧

The aesthetics of having both seconds hands in sync made my day. Good on ya mate!

I like the overall look of the watch. I do agree though it’s more a field watch dial on a diver in this case but they have better dive style dials available. The indiglo function is superb.

Another exceptional video Jody, please keep up your excellent effort on this superb watch channel. For me, the Duro wins hands down as the quintessential tool dive watch. Cheers to everyone here! 🍻🍺🍺🥂🍷🍷
