    Viviscal absolutely does work - however, if you are prone to fibroids, Viviscal is also known to affect them, and make those suckers grow. It’s awesome for just keeping your hair in the grow phase - no resting phase, no shedding. But somehow, fibroids seem to be on the same wavelength. I was consistent with my Viviscal usage for an entire year - I got the usual 6 inches of growth (accounting for trims) PLUS a triumphant 5 extra inches. Unfortunately, I got something else I hadn’t expected - real terrible pain from the fibroid growth, so much, so pronounced and so fast that I had surgery as fast as I could to remove them. So user beware. But lol yes, it totally does work!

    • @RundownwithRachel
      @RundownwithRachel  2 года назад +2

      Oh my gosh! I am so sorry to hear that! Thank you for sharing! Fibroids are so common and we are all better for knowing this. More reason to go with a different option. Any idea what active ingredient causes that fibroid growth?

    • @lovelyreen9936
      @lovelyreen9936 2 года назад +1

      @@RundownwithRachel well, I did some looking up on what makes either grow - if I made a Venn diagram on where they overlap, it’s estrogen. The marine complex in Viviscal happens to produce or at least deliver a nifty boost of it. So that’s the magic, and the problem. But I have to stress, everybody’s body is different, and my body included both fibroids and apparently a sensitivity such that it did all sorts of interesting things with it, making its own little perfect storm. As with anything, your mileage may vary!

      That’s good info, I take Viviscal Professional but ironically I started AFTER I had a complete hysterectomy for fibroid! I was 56 so I don’t take any HRT and post surgery so I experienced hair thinning like post pregnancy.
      I’m 65 so far no adverse hormone related issues from taking Viviscal
      I agree if you’re not post menopausal you need to be cautious

    I’ve been a consistent user of Viviscal Professional about 9 yrs. It’s higher dose of biotin and the marine complex. I only take one tablet a day. I had a complete hysterectomy at age 56 don’t take any hormones noticed my hair was thinning. This has significantly helped. I stopped taking it prior to my brain surgery in December and am now starting to take it. I did notice with surgery and all the meds I was on my hair growth really slowed down. I attribute most of that to the brain needed more energy to heal not hair lol. I have about 2 inches of hair growth where the incisions are.
    I’m also using Guerlain scalp serum it’s calming my scalp which is dry and it’s also making my hair a bit thicker looking. Do some research it’s expensive but I needed scalp relief.
    I’m 65.

      Kris. Wow. You’ve clearly been through a lot. I hope your recovering well and feeling better. Thank you for sharing your experience with viviscal always helpful. It’s funny that you mention the dry scalp - I’m dealing with that myself. It’s taken me a while to notice that dry shampoo doesn’t agree with me. Guerlin is a great brand and sometimes it’s worth it to spend the extra money. I’m working through a different hair oil and the verdict is still out, but I’ll be adding that to my list.

    Looked up that book at the library...it has 344 holds on it and it was written 4 years ago! How have I not heard of it? And what are you getting at? You were an adorable child! Don't be self hater. You're a doll! My mom takes Nutrafol and it definitely is helping her. You think you shed? No. She SHEDS and has very thin hair. This stopped her shed. I don't think hair came back necessarily but it stopped her massive shedding. She said it took a few months for it to start working (keep in mind we all have different baselines). Also, I bought an AquaBliss shower filter. Filtered shower water is a good thing. (I'm not about to put in a home water filter because we'll move in a few years, but these smaller ones are great.) I felt a difference in my hair quality and sometimes I thought I was shedding less overall. On a similar but tangential subject... brushes. I recently ditched my Wet brush for a Denman brush because I have wavy/curly hair and now I have way less poof and frizz and more defined waves and curls. Its not a soothing brush, but maybe the stiffness helps. Hair quality, you know?

      Thank you, thank you, thank you! So much great advice. I have heard great things about Nutrafol, too, and will be curious about the active ingredients. @lovelyreen shared that Viviscal has some potential side effects to be aware of. Seems to be a trend with the things that actually work come with actual risk.
      You are so right about water quality! I have no doubt that it can reduce breakage, too!
      Then for the brush - thats so good to know about Denman! I hadnt heard of it before but will be looking into now!
      So many factors that can play into it. Thank you again! Or should I say "so much thank you to @notsomuchthankyou 😂

    I started Nutrafol awhile ago and it's helped a great deal. Hate taking four pills a day but you do what you gotta do right? It was better when I wasn't using testosterone (I'm on alllll the hormones, dang menopause) but I'm not balding so I'll take it. And OMG I have that device! I used the wand once and thought meh...what could it be doing? But now I'll try it!! I do use it for at home facials like you tho and for any acne flares which it works great with. I believe part of that is to kill the bacteria on your face, so I can only assume that's what it's doing on the scalp which will stimulate hair growth. Thinning hair drives me bonkers so if it gets worse I'll go for the shark bones also 🤣 (which is probably for collagen purposes so it's a good thing). ❤️ Thanks as always! And you were an adorable child so stahhhhpppp it 😜

    I am still trying to answer you about your the video where you talked about branching out and covering different topics. Well thinning hair is a good one. I have thin hair as well and I can benefit from your research.
    This is off topic, but do you want any input from us or questions about topics ...I am becoming a Tracy Anderson nerd 🤓 and I wonder what is the average age of Tammers, how long before people see results, what is the age range of Tamers. How long do people stick with the program. Can you interview life long Tammers. I love that you read and try to answer every one's comments!
