I'm going through the exact same thing right now. I had Covid last 2 weeks of December then, long haul Covid / intense migraine headaches the entire month of January. My fever lasted 3 weeks and I lost 20 pounds. I was diagnosed by my dermatologist. My hair started falling out the 2nd week I had Covid probably due to not being able to eat and losing weight w/in 2 wks. 2 wks ago, my hair started falling out and I've been saving it too, handfuls of it. I got PRF hair treatment just on the crown of my head 1 wk ago, baby hairs on top of my head are awake now. BUT, the rest of my hair is falling out like crazy!!! U just made me feel better. Even though my dermatologist said it's temporary, it will grow back, you still feel like shit. I bought a red light panel (2 different rays by platinum) which helped resolve my migraines and stopped my Covid cough (you get your Vit D from it too). I noticed that the red light therapy helped my hair from falling out but, it made my melasma worse even if I used sunscreen. Basically, when I stopped the red light, the hair loss went into overdrive. I did Viviscal along w/ prenatal pills and it stopped. But when I did my PRF treatment, you can't take certain meds / supplements, etc. So, now I'm at this stage. No matter how much people are telling me to stop stressing out how can you not. Your giving me hope, you made me laugh and cry at the same time. Thank you for posting this video!!!

Hey! This video happen to show up in my feed. I am so happy to know I wasn't the only one that lost a lot their hair after covid. I had covid last year may 2021 and 2 months later I started to lose clumps and I mean clumps. I was so scared to wash or even touch my hair. I went to doctors and dermatologists.. I was told I had teleogen effluvium.. I was also told that after covid a lot of people had complained of this same thing.
To make a long story short I started using Bondiboost HG shampoo and conditioner, upped my iron, started talking gnc women's live well vitapak, and made sure to keep my circulation going on my scalp. I literally thought I was going to go bald. I cried and cried and felt hopeless. My hair is now back, but coming in white with the growth in the front and on top of my head... no matter the color, I am still thankful for any growth. Please don't give up, anyone that reads this, there is hope for sure!

EVERYTHING you said in this video that has happened to you has happened to me as well. First of December 2021 I lost my nephew in a semi truck accident which was totally devastating. Then I had covid the end of December. I too have lost 75% of my hair. I have been using Divi for two months and have finally started seeing new hair growth. I will be adding the four things you mentioned plus the shampoo and conditioner and some of the supplements that I am not already taking. One supplement that I have been taking that I don’t think you mentioned is extra zinc. I have had to cut my long hair to chin length because it was so thin. My hair is the consistency of cotton candy. It is heartbreaking, embarrassing and scary. I do not want to go anywhere because I feel so ugly. I am sure you are struggling, as am I, with trying to move on from the loss of your loved one which is so hard to do. I feel like I am still in the mourning stage but need to somehow keep it out of my mind so my hair will grow back. It is such a struggle.😭

I watched this video like a month and a half ago. My hair started falling out in the middle of August. It’s not the end of November and it’s stopped shedding. I can run my hand through my hair and not get eight or nine hairs, only one or two. It was so bad to where you can literally see my scalp. I probably lost a good 40-50% of my hair. If you’re reading this, and you’re going through this, it’ll stop and it’ll come back.

I'm watching this in tears right now. You have no idea how badly I needed to find this video and read these comments. I had covid on Christmas and was sick for about a month with really bad pneumonia from it. I started noticing more hair when I brushed but a switch went off about 3 weeks ago and I was noticing a TON of hair (just like what you showed) coming out. I have long thick hair and it unfortunately, really has become part of my identity. I have cried every single day, have had a pit in my stomach and to be totally honest, have gone almost a week without showering because of the intense traumatic experience that showering now poses. I'm going to come back to this video every time I'm having a particularly hard day to remind myself that there IS an end to this. Honestly, thank you for posting this. I genuinely think you helped save my life.

I’ve been there Ashley. My hair was the only think I always liked about my appearance. It was my identity at some point. It is devastating having it stripped and having it happen so fast. Trust me when I tell you I was in that dark place and just months later I’m feeling back to my old self. I promise you, it gets better. I know right now it doesn’t feel like that, but hold on tight. You aren’t alone.

Thank you for this!!! I can SO relate to the points you touched on about having hair all over your clothes and having to check everywhere when you were cooking!! It was awful! Also the extreme change in texture. I, like so Many others who have commented here, Truly felt that my hair was hair was a HUGE part of my identity ( I was a big haired 80s chick who should have purchased stock in Aquanet. Lol) . I had to reframe the way that I thought about myself. I flipped it around and and decided that this was the universe's way universe is way of telling me that I needed to concentrate what was on the inside and not focus so much on the outside. (Sounds great in theory, no? Not so easy to practice though). It's good to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that there are so many other people who are experiencing the same thing. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!!! It helps to know that I was not crying alone...

What hugely sucks is that so many people don’t understand how losing your hair like this so quickly can shatter your mental health & confidence instantly. I’m always reminded of the quote from Fleabag when she says *“Hair is everything! We wish it wasn’t, so we could actually think about something else occasionally, but it is. Its the difference between a good day & a bad day. We’re meant to think that it’s a symbol of power, that it’s a symbol of fertility, some people are exploited for it and it pays your bills! Hair is everything!”* thank you for helping me feel less alone in my hair journey, it really means a lot❤

I also went through TE; but not from covid; just stress and an ED. It was hell. If you are watching this please please please listen to her when she says to stop stressing. I thought I was listening when my hair started to fall out in late September/early october 2021, but I wasn't. I was still letting stress run my life. I was alone and in college and I just thought that I could handle it myself. Spoiler alert: I could not. It was honestly one of the most traumatic things I could imagine happening to me at the ripe old age of 20. I really felt like I was watching myself physically and mentally crumble into nothingness. Hair is a very emotionally important thing for women- and as someone whose whole identity was wrapped into being that girl with the super thick, sun-kissed, waist-length hair, I really felt like I was losing myself. In a way- I was, because I was letting the stress of the hair loss compound upon what I was already experiencing. I was rarely happy during the time. How could I be, when I was quite literally falling apart, and felt that it was all my own fault?
Basically; please do not do what I did. Namely- ignore it or think that you can handle it yourself. You are human. You need, and most importantly, you DESERVE to be supported and loved, especially when you are going through something traumatic. That is the only way you are going to get through this, (along with eating enough, resting enough and replenishing nutrient stores.)
I was so embarrassed by my hair loss that I didn't see a doctor about it until March. Luckily for me- I started to get my butt into gear in December to get back on track nutritionally and emotionally. By the time they did my bloodwork in March- my panel was perfect. To the biggest relief I have felt in my entire life- my hair stopped falling out a few weeks ago (April 2022).
When braiding my hair, I sometimes wonder how much I would still have if I had just advocated for myself. Even though I was blessed with very thick hair and have no obvious bald spots, I lost about half of my volume and 1000% of my self confidence. I am working on all of that stuff now- and I know that I'm on the right path, but it is a difficult journey.
If there is anyone reading this going through a similar situation, I just want you to know that you matter. You are not alone. I know it feels endless, but you will get through this. I did, and I am rooting for you to do the same.

I cried everyday too just like you and my family and friends kept saying it's stupid because it's "just hair" and they can't see the difference but we do when it's 50% of our hair! People are trying to make us feel bad by telling us it's superficial but hair is so much more than any other physical aspect of a person! It's part of our identity and shows a person's health, which helps making them look better... It makes me feel validated to see all these comments.

I experienced chronic telogen effluvium and I had a hair puncture done and he said six months to six years. It took six years for me to get my hair back. Then upon hearing news of my father’s cancer which made a lot of stress, my hair started to fall out again. Any time I am under stress my hair falls out. It is the weakest point in your body that is my body. I have struggled with this for 23 years. Each time I lose it it gets thinner. I decided to start my own Wig business. I am now in full beautiful human hair wigs that look just like my own hair did so as no one really knows except my clients. I have tried everything. I am extremely healthy and very holistic minded. I take extremely good care of my body. So all I can say is be prepared. I’ve lived in hope of it would come back... and honestly it did come back three times. But then when I lost my sister, my husband lost his job. Well that’s when it all started again and it really never came back. But I think this young lady for her knowledge. God bless all who are going through this stay strong. As you get older you realize it’s really not the most important thing on this planet. Knowing the Lord Jesus and knowing that he died for our sins is more important. Our eternity is more important than external looks.

I had cv in September and lost 80% of my thick beautiful hair and the experience was surreal, frightening and devastating. My psychological well-being was daily affected and I had to talk myself out of depression and carry on. The thing that helped put things into perspective was I was grateful I was not loosing my hair due to cancer. Those dear folks that go thru that due to cancer are precious. I am blessed to now be healthy post cv. My son almost died from cv at the same time I had it. We were in separate hospitals and I couldn't go see him when the doctor called and told me he wasn't going to make it thru the night! All I could do was pray like a warrior and Jesus saved my son, and me as well, Praise God! .. I am now otherwise healthy but it is still traumatizing for me and my son to loose our hair. My collection of dead hair was the size of a California dessert tumbleweed... and I finally threw it out. My temples are naked, the back of my head is so sparce. I didn't cut off my remainder of hair; I just couldn't. I bought a wig and wear it out and to work. My hair texture is feeling less-dead and I see fine grey hairs growing back in patches. I'm hanging in there. I am so grateful for your tips about how you are dealing with this. I am already taking some vitamins but I'll add a couple of your tips as well. thanks again. God bless all of you.

@@catrinrhodes4582 Hi, happy to report there are small hairs coming in...growing around my temples and forehead hairline that are now very wavy and are different texture, and grey. About 3 inches long. Bald spot on back of head is gone. I didn't lose all my hair but at least 70% of thickness is gone. Feels weird. Hair line receded around temples pretty bad. I wear wig to work, but on weekends don't wear it now because I clamp my hair up. It doesn't look bad. I got one haircut a year later since hair fell out! With my thin hair that was left, I kinda comb it forward a little to cover temple area and then pull it up and clamp it in ponytail. it is growing in again. No bald spots anymore. LOL. I'm thankful to be alive, and that God saved me and my son. We refused the jab(s) though. I've researched so much about those, that I said HELL NO. Sorry you are experiencing side effects. Unfortunately there are extremely serious (even deadly) side effects being reported, but mainstream media is forbidden to cover it. Very sad. I wish you health... hopefully your hair will come back. I've heard folks who got jabbed should definitely take good vitamins every day inuding Biotin, vitD3, folic acid. Etc.... but I'm not a doctor... just passing along that bit of what I've researched in medical journals. You can research for yourself what "informed" doctors and immunologists have found. You'll need to dig for truth because they want "truth" hidden unfortunately.. Anyway, take care and I wish you well.

I am 53 and have been steadily losing hair for 20 months. It is now coming out in huge clumps and I am beside myself with grief and anxiety. Mathematically I don’t have long until I am truly bald. I’m scared to wash my hair, scared to style it or even run a comb through it. It’s a 24/7 nightmare that you never get any respite from. I’ve had Covid twice, reconstructive foot surgery and am post menopausal. I had no idea anyone else was suffering too. I’ve tried everything but the DR’s dismiss me. One even told me that hair loss doesn’t make me depressed! Dermatologist waved me off like I was being vain.

Thank you for making this video! After testing Covid positive in August and being extremely sick for over a month I started experiencing hair loss in October.. November and December was the worst! I also kept my hair to keep track; I think it’s a smart thing to do.. I thought I was going to get to a point of shave my head and I was OK with that however I was so afraid of what other people were going to say or think.. After having anxiety, depression and insomnia because of this hair loss I knew I had to take control of my life.. A day before New Years I chopped 14 inches of hair into a bob.. Best decision ever!! I wanted to welcome the new year with a fresh positive start.. It was such a weight lifted off my shoulders.. I started meditating and taking many of the vitamins you mentioned.. End of January I can see little baby hairs growing all over my head.. Right now baby hairs are about an inch and a half long and it’s giving me so much volume! Im loving the volume..It will grow back! It was one of the most traumatizing experiences I’ve been through.. Specially at the beginning not knowing why it was happening, it really caught me off guard.. BUT that’s life and you have to roll with the punches.. Make the best of it, learn from it and know that it’s just a season and it will get better! 💓

Your story is practically identical to mine. I also had the cooflu in Aug, started losing massive amounts of hair in October. Nov/Dec were the worst. Lost about 75% of my hair volume.
The shedding finally stopped in Jan (lasted almost EXACTLY 3 months), and the re-growth started shortly thereafter.
I can tell that the bare spots are filling back in, and I’m starting to get SOME of my hair volume back (especially on top). My hair has always grown pretty fast, so I’m hoping that it won’t take too long to get my full volume back. But I’ve read that it can take anywhere from 6 to 12 (or even 18) months.
The young woman who made this video is correct when she says it’s a traumatic experience when you’re going through it! I felt like I was a cancer chemo patient and was wondering if I would have to shave my head (to stop the matting & severe tangling), and/or purchase a wig.
Thank God the shedding ended after about 90 days and the re-growth has begun! I finally feel hopeful again, no longer traumatized!

For anyone who had a relatively mild case of Covid but still experienced hair loss afterwards I strongly recommend getting your ferritin (iron storage) tested. Even if it is technically just within the “normal ranges” low ferritin can cause hair loss and Covid drains your ferritin! This is exactly what happened to me….it apparently gets missed by a lot of doctors who aren’t specialists in hair loss and just test your iron levels. I never realised this before and only found out why this was happening after my second bout of Covid!Sharing my experience here in the hope that it may help others avoid this/get a diagnosis earlier

Im in the same situation, thanks for this video. Here’s something I’ve started doing that might resonate with some of you, I say daily positive affirmations about my hair - ‘my hair is growing thick and strong, my hair is abundant, my hair follicles are healthy and productive, my hair is long, thick and shiny, my hair is my crowning glory’ - I say this like a mantra on my daily walk, I try and feel the emotion of having beautiful, thick healthy hair. Since doing this I’ve noticed it’s stopped shedding and I have l o fine baby hair coming through. I don’t know if it’s because of the affirmations but I’m going to keep doing it as it stops me stressing about it so much.

It's so freaking devastating. I had Covid last November, 11 months ago, and it's so frustrating when people say that Covid isn't real because not only was it terrifying not being able to breathe for a week but I lost 40% of my hair in the three weeks after I was sick with Covid. I would be sobbing in the shower with clumps coming out. For the last 11 months I've been able to see my scalp and I'm probably not even halfway back to where I was. Like I've had maybe 20% of my hair come back. People don't realize how absolutely gutting it is to lose your hair all of a sudden. Especially when you feel like that's one of the best things about you. 😢

6 weeks post covid my hair started to fall and heaven forbid I ran my fingers thru my hair as I was shampooing and conditioning bc it would come out in clumps. I got so worried I cut it to my shoulders. I did everything: massage, vitamins, modere collagen, switched to organic natural shampoo, Nioxin, slept on silk pillowcase, rosemary rinses and even saw palmetto. Hopefully this passes. I had a horrible covid recovery and experience at the time.
Update April 4, 2022: just this month my hair quit falling. I still take vitamins and collagen and I kept the natural shampoos. I might lose 10 strands at most during a shower. Gosh that was such a stressful few months.
Update April 22, 2022: hard work and consistency has been slowly paying off. I used to hate the little new growth hair that always stood up around my head but now I just let it stand up and enjoy the fact that anything is growing at all. At most, maybe 10 stands fall in the shower still and I use a soft scrunchie to hold it back.

I’ve continued my usual daily vitamin supplements and have been more conscious of my nutritional intake. OMG - I went - still going through the same thing. I had hair in the dryer vent, all over my pillow, all over my clothes. I too cried all the time. I have never experienced hair loss like that. My hair texture changed too and I was afraid to wash my hair because it would just knot up and then when I went to comb after I got out of the shower I would pull clumps out. I was also using so much conditioner and leave in conditioner that it had no life, so then I would just where it up in a messy bun or something. I am pretty sure that mine has lasted longer than 3 months, because I had covid in October and I am just now starting to have it slow down a bit. But I also think that my hair loss may have been retriggered when I had to get the vaccine for work after I just had covid. My hair dresser recommended taking multi vitamins (good ones) and when I was there last another one of her clients recommended some thyroid supplements. So my list of vitamins now is multi, magnesium, evening primrose, zinc, vitamin d3, sellenium, iodine. I also bought a prewash hair oil by fable and mane and that seems to help keep it from knotting so bad. Thank you for this video!! I felt like when I said anything to someone that they thought I was crazy. My hair dresser was the only one who understood.

I started using Rogaine for men (foam) as recommended by dermatologist along with iron supplements to help me keep what I would refgrow. Within 1-2 months, all my hair follicles filled back up and my balding scalp was looking full. Once I saw Rogaine was working and regrew my hair. This is happening to me right now after a 5 year eating disorder! I didn't lose much hair during my ED, but as soon as I started recovery I swear I lost 50% of my hair at least. It's so common with eating disorders, I know so many others who have experienced the same thing. It's interesting to hear how it can happen for so many other reasons too!
I'm trying the homemade rosemary water twice a day, no idea if it will work given my body is still recovering from all the damage (It's probably got more important things to do than regrow my hair right now!). I also had severe anaemia and deficiencies in vitamin D, zinc, and probably some others, and I'm treating those as well. I've seen some really encouraging regrowth stories from my ED support groups, I have faith it will definitely get better with time

I got Covid on December 18, and I started noticing hair loss by the week of January 24. It started slowly, but February and March were the worse. I'm on week 12 now and the shedding is finally slowing down. This was so far a traumatic experience, I was afraid to touch my hair, I saw little dots from my roots and all along the length of my hair, I figured out later it was my hair pulling out from the roots and tangled with the rest of my hair. By mid-March, I've decided to take matters at hand, starting by cutting my almost tailbone, thick hair into a bob to avoid the tangles and the breakdown trying to detangle everything. Like yours, my hair texture has changed a lot. My hair used to be shiny and healthy, I ended up with a matted, tangled mess and with my naturally curly hair, it was the worse, it was lifeless. It's still the same texture now, but it's kinda improving. At least at the roots, where I've noticed some regrowth for a few days now. I've lost 75% of my hair, which I lived like a loss as you said, it's exactly that, it was a very very painful experience. I came upon your video in late February, which had me decided to have my blood work done to find out any deficiencies, took multivitamins and supplements. Also, I treated my hair with rosemary tea rinse, I added rosemary and peppermint essential oils in a pre-shampoo oil to detangle my hair, and I added the same essential oils to a daily hair spray I use every day to soothe my scalp and calm the itchiness which also drove me crazy. I've binge watched videos of people who went through the same to sort of cope during the worst phase and tell myself it's gonna stop. And yes, it is going to stop, just make sure to find out and eliminate all underlying causes and focus on healing from the inside and the outside will follow.

    • @heriandria
      @heriandria 2 года назад

@@jradandt531 Sure. You just boil some rosemary leaves in water, fresh or dried ones, it doesn't matter. Then you keep it marinated in there until it cools down (I usually let it sit overnight), strain the leaves and store the tea. I followed instructions from this channel for the preparation ruclips.net/video/XBcO52ZdNT4/видео.html and on other similar channels. For the use, it's up to you if you'd do it before or after washing your hair. In my case, it was the final rinse after washing and left it there until next wash day (just use a moisturizer after since rosemary tea has some astringent property and it may dry out your hair, especially the ends). I did that religiously every 4 to 5 days for 3-4 months, along with oiling my scalp for at least 1 hour before washing (I mixed 15 drops of essential oil for 6 tbsp of carrier oil). Hope it helps!

I had two chronic teligum effuvium episodes. Chronic TE means it lasts longer than nine months, mine lasted two and a half years both times. The first one was from years of genuine extreme abuse (in all categories) and malnutrition and the second episode is when I gave up seven straight years of taking birth control pills. It takes years to grow back depending on the severity and how your hormone and stress levels are. Praying to God, taking the right multivitamin and taking ashwaghanda with using marijuana with CBD and changing your diet to a much healthier one and also finding the right shampoo and conditioner as well is a game changer. It doesn't grow all back at once, take it one year at a time. My sympathy goes to you, I have had to deal with loss and horrific events as well, it does it get better. God bless you all ❤️

I have exactly the same issue. I have always had really thick and healthy hair, but back in 2020, I started noticing more hair coming out when I washed it. This has been one of the most devastating things that has ever happened to me. I went to a dermatologist with it, and he explained that since I was menopausal that my body was producing a male hormone called DHT. He also said I had alopecia, which to this day I refuse to believe that. Mainly because he never even looked at my scalp nor did he even run any tests on me to confirm I had alopecia. And he said it was hereditary, which no one in my family is bald, so I begged to differ with him on that. Then as I was paying my bill and about to leave, there was a notice on the billboard of the Epiphany dermatology stating that the dr was retiring in two weeks. So I guess go figure. He didn’t even take time to examine me, just blurted out that I had alopecia bec of the male hormones. Anyway, I did my own research and found out that there is a dietary supplement called Saw Palmetto that will block that DHT so it can’t block the hair follicles. I’m using it now for about one week, and it seems to be working.! Less hair fall, and I can already see small hairs coming back in. I tried VIVISCAL but it did not work, and I will never use Rogaine because once you use that, or minoxidil or finasteride, then you’ll have to continue to use it the rest of your life or the hair will fall out if you stop using it. Anyway, I wish you the best on your journey, and I pray everyday to God to pls stop my hair from coming out. I will pray for you as well. :)

I also experienced Telogen Effluvium a few years ago due to a VERY LOW CARB LIFESTYLE - I highly DO NOT recommend this diet anymore! It was great at first, I lost 70 lbs in 5 months (major trauma to the system.) And then I had to have a tummy tuck due to the loose skin, and surgery/anesthesia is also a major trauma to the body. So two strikes against me right there. I already had baby fine, somewhat thin hair, but then it just started coming out and was so traumatically thin and noticeable. This was way more devastating to me than when I had chemo for colon cancer 17 years ago, because I knew after the chemo my hair would come back (it did, before I even finished my last treatment.) When I met my husband (then boyfriend) a couple years ago, I found Keto/Low Carb was just too restrictive and started eating carbs again. I'm happy to report that I stopped losing hair and I'm completely back to normal. Last year before the wedding I tried to do low carb again to lose some of the weight to fit into my wedding dress and my hair starting noticeably thinning AGAIN! No more. Your body needs healthy carbs and a well rounded diet. I may get "shade" thrown at me for bashing Keto/Low Carb, but just Google it - hair thinning/loss is happening to a lot of people following that lifestyle. I am much healthier, happier, and have my hair back. Thank you for sharing your story!

Thank you so much for making this video. (And to all the people sharing their stories in the comments.) I think I’m around 8-10 weeks in and have lost at least half my hair at this point. It used to be the only thing about my physical appearance that I was proud of, so the loss has been pretty devastating-I used to look like the lass from Brave, but now you can see right through to my scalp.
I feel a reassured to know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’m a bit scared to know that it’s probably going to still fall out for a while more (It feels a bit impossible to lose any more at this point, I’m sure others have felt this too), but knowing there’s an end to it and it’s not forever makes it SO much more manageable mentally.
I’ve been trying to look for positives, even though I don’t feel very positive. I’m pretty sure mine has been triggered because of my ED, and it really has been my biggest push in recovery. I probably wouldn’t have changed otherwise. I’ve upped my calories, my protein, started taking vitamins and supplements, hopefully the things that I broke can be fixed.🤞🏻

When I wash my hair, I hold it in a bunch at the nape of my neck and just scrape my fingers - in a comb like way, from front to crown. Then let the water take the shampoo away. I don’t wash it like I used to, but the loose dead hairs still form a ‘matted tangle’ and I have to gently tease the strands with a wide toothed comb. The amount of long strands that come out, even then, are alarming. I haven’t washed my hair for 2 weeks - I’m too scared

I noticed my hair is not as smooth as before, it becomes very dry on the touch (not on the look though), and I am too scared to wash my hair, and would only wash it when I can't stand the itchiness, which is about 2 weeks+ for me. Back then my hair would get oily if I don't have a shampoo for more than 2 days.

I was so scared but I try really hard to stay positive and pray that it would go away. It lasted about a 100 days. My hair is growing back, I’m like you, I have a very thin amount of hair now. It’s been over two months that my tragedy stopped 🙏🙏🙏Praise God. Thank you for sharing your story ❤️

I was a hairstylist for 45 years. I would get asked many times over the years about thinning hair and I would always start with "don't worry unless it becomes notably thinner." And #2 "stress and worry won't help." Generally hair loss can relate to stress and thyroid. I have recently been doing protein cycling so likely I haven't been getting quite enough of that on top of everything else. I was always the girl with the huge mane of thick hair and it's helped me to hear my words come back to me. I've had plenty of stress this last year and I had to bouts of covid back to back a few months ago. I didn't stress...but your video was beautifully reassuring. Always good to know you're not alone. I'm now a full time artist and if it gets real bad I'll get creative with bandanas when I go out. Thanx

Thank you for this video! I've been dealing with this for a long time now. I lost my professor a few days after Christmas (who was very dear to my heart and helped me so much), lost someone close to me (family member) in February - had to fly out of town to say goodbye in the middle of a stressful semester in school - all while trying to maintain a 4.0 GPA and get into a very competitive healthcare program. Then I got covid for the first time. I had just started using Bondi Boost because of the stress of school and tragically losing 3 people in 3 months, but it made me shed much like a dread shed with minoxidil. I kept using it and then the covid loss started.I thought it was all from Bondi Boost and stopped using it but my stylist said she saw baby hairs. Then I found out about pumpkin seed oil and saw palmetto. Those 2 supplements stopped my excessive hair loss within 2 weeks of use. I started using Mielle and my own rosemary daily spray that I made. I was doing well with stopping the excessive loss but haven't been able to see much regrowth before I got slammed a week ago with 3 infections and I'm on several meds - all of which cause temporary hair loss. Not a biggie that it's temporary but I don't have much to lose. I also got into that healthcare program but it's really hard to stay in. It was devastating (still is) to see more loss after feeling like I won the battle of excess hair fall. I'm hoping it stops soon. I'm tired of losing my hair. Thank you for making me not feel alone. I've got some new things to look into to help. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Same thing has happened to me. My hair to was thick so people don’t really notice but I have. I too have lost a great deal of hair. It has finally stopped. I bought expensive shampoos, conditioner, and treatments. Scriptures I prayed every day: Luke 12:7, Luke 21:18, I Corinthians 11:15, Acts 27:34.

you really looked fantastic in those wigs. The red one was so pretty. I had covid in Nov and spent 10 days in the hospital. As I am coming home I contracted Shingles. I have dreadlocks 4.5 years old. I noticed a month ago my scalp hair that holds the dreadlock to my scalp has thinned down to maybe 30 hairs, if I pulled my dread slightly it will come off. I havent found any yet laying in my bed. My handicapped 54 yr old son passed 2 yrs ago, I found him on the kitchen floor, I cry every day for him. Had to sell my home one month later. Now losing my hair. I pray every day for God to give me the strength to get through this and whats coming in the future. Bless everyone.

I’ve gone through the same, so get what you went through. I did things slightly different. I wasn’t as delicate with my hair. I brushed it normally as I wanted it out if it was coming out anyway. I’ve lost 60% of my hair and after 9 weeks I’m over any hair loss. I threw all my shampoos out and use Beautifully Ellen natural products. Awesome and natural. I also take the vitamins shown. I feel the pain for whoever is going through this. I have regrowth which is a massive relief.

I had COVID in October and again in March and lost hair both times. I had platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment to help it start growing back. Doc made sure my vitamin D and iron levels were adequate to help grow the hair back. It’s starting to come back in thankfully but I’ve always had long hair to my waistline so it was tied in with who I am. Lots of tears. I’ve been using clip ins to get through it. HOLY SMOKES I STUMBLED ON THIS VIDEO AND I CANNOT THANK YOU ENUF FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO….like someone else said in these comments, I was stunned when you showed the bag of your hair!……
I got a milder case of covid in late July and then I had surgery (yes, under anaesthesia )a few weeks afterward….then I noticed I was losing a lot of hair afterward ( not at all as much as you… so i am thankful for that…)but it certainly was enough to cause big concern and depression for me. I consulted my doctor and had blood work drawn to rule out any medical problems (all blood work came out good, thank god, but why was i losing so much hair? )Like you, i didnt look forward to washing my hair or brushing it either…I was finding my hair everywhere! Like you, My clothes were covered, my bed, and i was very cautious while preparing meals …my hair was noticably EVERYWHERE!😩 I went to my hairdresser and had her put in hair extensions to “cover” my thinning hair. (my hairdresser is actually the one who told me about surgery and covid being big reasons people get thinning hair.
I have always taken biotin and vitamin D3 and i am thinking that that may be the reason my hair loss has not been as extreme as yours seems to have been..
I am currently waiting to see if my hair starts regrowth soon (Im told it takes a few months for regrowth to start ) i am armed with wigs if need be, but i took the extensions route first..
I am so grateful for this video, I thought I was alone on this crazy journey…I am 67 years young and hair loss at any age is traumatizing…trust me on that one!
Thank you again so much!!❤❤ Heather A-C

Thank you SO much for posting this. I had Covid for the first time in September of this year and about three weeks ago, my hair started falling out in clumps and I didn't make the connection because I thought it was due to being in my 40s now and having hormonal changes happen. I was searching YT for hormonal hair loss videos and found this. When I had Covid, it turned into pneumonia and I was SO sick, I have never prayed to god before, but I was praying daily. It lasted for a month and I can't imagine the stress my body was under trying to recover. Thank you thank you for posting this. I feel so much more hope now!!

Your energy and the way you talk about your experience is so soothing to me. I'm a 20 yo female and I started losing hair about 2 months ago. I was in an abusive relationship for the whole of 2020, broke up with him beginning of 2021, dealt with restraining orders, debt, and emotional trauma from the relationship and then right when I got out of the thick of it, my hair has been falling out. This video has been kind of a beackon of hope for me and I just want to say I'm really appreciative that you took the time to talk about this sensitive subject. Thank you.

Thank you for these videos and comments. I been crying for three weeks now and everything you ladies are saying I’m going through it for three weeks. I started saving bags exactly as yours, four quart baggies in six days. I had COVID two times first time it almost took me, the second four weeks of positive test and four months latter still no taste, smell, skin problems, vision problems, etc. but the past three weeks I have just shut down there’s so much beautiful hair that’s is everywhere, I cry in the shower, as I blot my hair to dry I cringe, today I just showered closing my eyes but the hair just falls down getting stuck in my hands and I’ve woke up with just hair laying on my pillow. My hair feels so different it’s not breaking it’s falling from the root and it’s tender on my head but I have such bad headaches. I’m hearing there is hope lord I have so much aniexity
about it I even thought what if some cruel person put hair remover in a bottle of shampoo that’s how fast it is falling out. I had lab work and all the mention vitamins I’m extreamly low my t3 and t4 almost not reading a count and death of my dad and almost lost a child all about four months ago so I am not sure exactly if it’s just a combo of Covid and my thyroid but without insurance I only had lab work done and I’m taking supplements because I half to do something. I am so very sorry fir anyone going through this because I have at one point after throwing up and just sitting on the bathroom floor thinking what else could be going on inside my body. The constant vertigo feeling, nausea, anixity, swelling, pain everywhere, now my hair, I feel like there’s a few people who just think I’m making it up but I’m not it’s horribly noticeable not to mention the brain fog, and exhaustion. To the point I’m scared that’s all I’m just scared and looking for answers, I’m so thankful I found your video and I’m so very sorry for all the losses, I’m was at the point trying to pull over areas of my hair today to hide where it’s just gone. I already have gallon bag and quart baggies. But it will stop from what I’m reading and hearing that gives me hope.
Has anyone had there teeth to start breaking mine has begun doing that as well.
I’m not crazy and I’m not doing this stuff to myself or trying to get attention, I keep it to myself unless it’s a need to know person and I just feel like I’m fading away, I have been driving and had to stop because I seriously forgot where I was going and what I was doing this is happening more and more, loss of memory and trying to speak or say normal words I can’t it comes out all messed up like my mind and voice are having an argument. It’s embarrassing all of it and it’s really causing daily limitations on just waking up and doing normal things. Ladies it will get better right I pray! .

After a major surgery I had TE for 4 solid months. It finally stopped in November, I tried everything possible to get it to stop but it wouldn’t. I now have tons of baby hairs all over my head, about 3-4” long. My hairdresser took a long section and held it up and then blow dried down to see how much growth I had, I really recommend this if you’ve had a lot of hair loss, I could see probably an equal amount of new growth to the long section. I was shocked because I’ve always had fine straight hair, so the loss has been quite noticeable and the growth is less noticeable as far as volume but it’s definitely there. It was very satisfying to see that it is growing and things will be back to normal at some point. I love videos like this, even though I’m past the TE phase, I never know when it’ll come back so thank you for making me feel less alone in this. 🥰

Again thank you and wishing you a happy recovery of this.
One more thing, it just peeves me to no end on how the medical community is or doesn’t even want reactions to be reported on having COVID or if you have been vaccinated, etc. So it is not like they haven’t keep us all on high alert with the fear mongering and now that we have had the sickness we have to deal with this as well. Good grief! I'm so glad I found you - I'm in my early 60s, not vacxed, had a MILD (4 day) case of Cov in early Nov. About a month ago, I realize my hair is falling out - and, just like you, it's hanging on the back of my shirts, my bathrobe, washing my hair is an absolute NIGHTMARE - clumps coming out, then after washing, more coming out when I'm combing through. I did go to derm and he thought it'd been the Cov and stress - my younger daughter married and we had friends living with us from the EU and Puerto Rico for over 3 weeks in late Nov. Between cv and stress, and now my hair falling out, I'm mentally 'spent.' - My husband (of 25 years) is pretty much bald, and has been for quite some time - - - and I'm beginning to empathize with him! LOL - I try meditation, yoga, what a journey it's been! Thank you for posting this!

Thank you for your story. I feel like you told my hair story. I would red washing my hair because of all the hair loss. I didn't even want to touch my hair and wanted to stay home and never go out. I had Alopecia Areata from a autoimmune thyroid condition which was caused by low vitamin D. I lost 75% of my hair and was so close to getting a wig. I had 7 huge bald spots all over. I went to a dermotologist for cortizone injections which helped. Vitamins and nutrition are so important and finding out the root cause. I do so many blood tests to find the source and found out about autoimmune - Hoshimotos. Here is the kicker, I don't have a thyroid, was removed in 2012 due to cancer, but it doesn't matter when you have autoimmune. After injections once a month for 5 months, it took about 8 weeks to see growth. It took a full year for my hair to fully grow with a ton of awkward stages in between. Now I am experiencing loss again but more thinning and shedding. This time I believe it's age and hormones. I will be 57 next month. I love when they say don't get stressed as your hair covers the drain with no end in sight. I follow a ton of doctors and ultimately it's about inflamation and nutrition. I have cut down on carbs, gluten, sugar and I also put Rosemary Oil on my scalp before I wash my hair and I try not to wash it more than 1x per week. I hope I won't need a wig this time.. thanks for listening

Oh my now I understand why my hair is falling out. Scalp is so dry and even if it's getting alittle better. I'm still losing hair alot less now. I did lose like you 75 yo 80 % of hair. My hair was so dry and brittle. With, moisturizing products, vitamins and rosemary oil my hair has gotten much better. I'm ok because it's a process that has to take its course. What I don't understand is that I was never diagnosed with Covid-19. To me it had to be the vaccine. Because I was fine until then. I look at your hair I know exactly hat you mean. Thank you, you had helped me so much with understanding my situation. It is very dramatic and a scary situation. You look fabulous and your energy is wonderful. Good luck and God bless 🙌

I went through same exact emotional rollercoaster and Telogen effluvium cycle with the EXTREME fall out😭 but in the front hair line I also developed seborrheic dermatitis and it was HORRIBLE. I didn't understand what was going on and put coconut oil and that was the worst. I discovered that it made the seborrheic worst it went down to my forehead and eyebrows 😫Visited every doctor to check out everything and all they said was stressed caused even though I never felt stressed at all. But I did almost everything you have mentioned. All I could say is that I haven't seen any new hair growth,I have bold edges and lots of thinning everywhere. I see less fall out and my hair length never stopped growing as fast as it always did. At that time I never had felt COVID symptoms unless I had it with no obvious symptoms.

I had covid pneumonia this past Jan. It was real bad and I couldn't eat for 2 weeks. Dropped weight and stopped having my period for 3 months. I've since recovered but over the last month i have been having extreme hair loss. Crying in the shower over how much hair is falling out.. these videos have me so emotional but i am so relieved to understand this is not uncommon...

I had Covid in fall of 2020. Then in June of 2021 my mom passed, and my husband left three weeks later. My hair started shedding like crazy. I’ve lost probably 30% of my hair. My dermatologist said the same thing - just overall life stress. They gave me some topical steroids and then switched to a liquid vitamin d for my scalp. They did tell me you be careful about biotin because if you have cardiac issues like a heart attack, biotin can mask important factors to determine what’s wrong in an emergency. I now take vitamin d and collagen. I don’t take anything else because my blood work showed everything else was fine.
I went to a hair loss specialist and did splurge on a laser cap, and I noticed an immediate reduction in shedding. But they are not cheap.
My hair also got super dry. I used Amika’s The Kure every other day and it made a huge difference. I have all those little tiny hairs around my face too, probably a couple inches long. My top front was where the worst of the loss is - I hope it’s finally starting to fill in.

I had my own expereince with TE in 2022-2023. My experiences was similar but my shedding waa extremely fast.
I had an accident and shattered both of my feet. They were so bad i couldn't leave my bed for six weeks. This was in July. In Nov i noticed my hair thinning but i didnt think too much of it. Within a couple of weeks i lost more than half of my hair and what was lert felt like straw. I kept my hair line but everthing up top was gone. It was all scalp. I had juat finalized my divorce of 17 years too. It is very very unsettling to lose all of your hair so quick. As you said, life comes to a hault.
Im 51 and a male bur a full head of hair and no baldness in my family. A lot of people just said get over it. Its just hair. What did you expect? Never lose you hair? None of that helped. I was open about it and posted on Facebook what i was going through.
I did my homework - i knew what was happening wasnt normal balding. You dont go bald all at once and quickly. When i read about TE it made total sense to me. I read that if i started rogaine i would shed MORE and when i stopped i could lose what i gained. So i did nothing but wait. The shedding stopped almost as quickly as it began. I still had hair up front so i combed that back and wore my hair slicked back. Nine months passed and i wasn't seeing the bald patches anymore but my hair had so many different lenghts it was hard to know what was what. It hadn't been cut in almost a year. June 1,2023 i got my hair cut short and all of my hair had grown back. ALL OF IT. If you have TE dont panic. Its the most common cause of hair loss. Most times it will grow back 100%.
    Thanks for this post.😢

@@takshilalegha9793 hi love, i’ve finally found something that actually feels beneficial and a friend of mine who has been trying it for a little longer (who also suffers from hairloss) has noticed a lot of growth!
Try making rosemary water and putting it in a spray bottle. Spray it on your scalp in sections every morning when you wake up and right before you sleep. Massage it in if you have an extra 5 mins. You’ll see a difference in no time!! please try it, i pray we get through this❤️
