Is there a system to 3d design things like ponds and waterways on a computer and upload them to something like this Trimble, then follow the design with bucket, backhoe and dozer attachments? I have a brand new 299D3 CAT
I have been looking at purchasing the Trimble Ute but on a dual dozer box blade for permeable paver setting beds. Do you think it can lay the 3/8 chip good enough to lay pavers on? it has the wheels behind the box. they say it's better for getting perfect grade. Thanks for the great videos.
I think it could work. You would have to use it in reverse so you are not driving over the 3/8 stone... It would probably take some figuring out the best way to do it but yes Id say it could work. Thanks for watching!
great videos! I have a question. this box blade with the trimble system setup. when you set it to auto grade...is it just running a flat grade from a specific elevation or will it also cut slopes and pitch in the auto format ?? you'd need hard drive grade gps setup right?? is that what you have in that setup and how much does it cost to get that hard drive created from a set of prints??
It is doing a pitch in this demonstration. I am grading a ball field. To do this for your self you would need to digitize the plans and then upload them via USB to the Trimble box in the machine. I have no idea on the cost to digitize. I dont think it would be much. Most plans for commercial projects are coming digitized these days now anyways.
Great video! My company is looking for a system like this for trail grading, most likely utilizing the UTS system. With the wheels on the front of the blade, what is the best technique for knocking down piles of rock subbase since you can't just push through a pile like you would with a dozer? Obviously, it would be easier to have a truck spread the load so you don't have to deal with the piles in the first place. Thanks and keep the videos coming!
Just start cutting into the pile with the corner of the box. You will take about 2ft at a time. It works well. I tried doing it, I didnt get it on video though
Im always posting new videos! I have one more coming up from Trimble Dimensions and that will be it from this show. Just thought Id show you guys some of the stuff I thought was neat that I saw.
Great Videos! Keep up the good work. Have you ever used the Spectra LR series Laser Machine Display Receiver? They are made by Trimble. I am looking for some type of affordable grading system for use on both my excavator and skid steer and wanted to know if you or anyone has any experience with them and are the worth the money. Thanks and looking forward to more videos.
Thanks for watching. Unfortunately I have not tried on of those so I cant give you any good feedback. Maybe some one else with experience will chime in...
Benny Silva excuse me ,I do and the thing that all these people don't understand if you don't know the fundamentals of running equipment (like old school way )🤔 all the technology in the world can never help you if you're too stupid to use it. Speed and time saved wins
I’m in the laborers union for close to twenty years now. This new gps stuff I don’t like or trust as good as old leveling or pulling string off the stake and hub. Further more I would like to say, I can’t get in the operators union because I would pass the IQ test!
I would never EVER buy this from CAT. Too much money, total rip off. You can get the same thing from a lesser known manufacturer for a fraction of the price and it’s built exactly the same. WORD TO THE WISE
Ok, and yet again it's in nice soft fluffly material, now lets see that in hard pack clay. The Scraper Bucket is the only attachment that will do it.
Is that something that any cat dealer would have? I have a Kubota I haven't seen one from them.
Does it work on slopes??
I want this system so bad 😂

On average a full cab kit including the screen, antenna, and receiver heads will run around 50k

A GL7 series laser with a LR 410 laser receiver is an awesome combination.
I’m waiting for the day when I can down load an app on my smart phone or tablet and do the same thing.
they have that now in the 2019 version, at least for laser grade
