I have been running one now for several months. it took a few days to get used to Mainly cause I have a problem of not wanting to slow down. But we finally met somewhere in the middle and work well together. If your cutting in thick woods I recommend to not put the deflector shield all the way down you will eventually tear it off if your like me anyway. It has been a great machine and a great asset to my business.
+jay west - Yes, insurance is expensive, but a necessary part of business. We do provide a lot of safety decals, warnings, tips and techniques along with sharing all the safety notices in our manuals. But don't worry, when operated properly, it's a safe product.
Need something like this for the cabin, the woods are over grown and the deer trails are not open anymore. I should look into the local rental places to see if they got this stuff.
Absolutely, this is a tool - not a toy - and it's inherently dangerous to operate. With that being said, the Lexan, bulletproof glass is one of the safest options. And since Diamond's forestry head throws most of the debris away from the cab when operated correctly, you won't have to worry about being showered with debris.
Which mower would Diamond recommend for mowing briar piles? Forestry, rotary, or flail? How about a video doing this with all 3 mowers and pros & cons of each mower in this application?
@drew6709 Our Skid-Steer Forestry head is best option, however the product is best suited for processing standing material. Please reference 3:28 into the video for the "Ground Pull" technique. This demonstrates the most effective use of the forestry head for your application. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact info@diamondmowers.com for technical support.
@@diamondmowers morning.... Would like to know where to purchase this machine in what price and any specific contact I can get so that I can directly have contact or chat..
David McFadden Only thing I don’t like about it is the Hoses aren’t guarded well. I cut only on my right side to keep things from hanging up on the hose side. Other than that been working well.
Great question! Yes, this is a high flow only attachment. For costs contact your local Diamond Mowers dealer - which you can find here: diamondmowers.com/apps/store-locator Or contact our inside sales team at (800) 658-5561 or info@DiamondMowers.com
Hi, i'm from tabasco, mexico... I love this Skid-Steer Forestry Head and it's exactly what I need for my ranch... But I have a question, can you tell me how many RPM (revolutions per minute) does this 60" disk needs to work? And what about the 36" disk RPM needed? I will really appreciate your answer.... Saludos from Mexico amigos!
Unfortunately it is not compatible. Not enough flow and overall weight is under our minimum. We need 24 GPM and 900 lbs. of lift capacity over the side with the blade up.
+madisonelectronic - The “crap your pants” technique is too messy for us. It is better to use the push bar to push the tree away from you. For large trees, it is best to notch the tree first, then finish the cut from the other side using the push bar to push it away from you.

Yeah, I want one. Unfortunately, I only have 18gpm... And not enough bank account. Do you have a 3pt PTO option? It wouldn't be as useful, but might be a fair bit less expensive
+farmerboybill Our skid steer attached rotary cutters might be a solution for you. These can be purchased in the $9,000 to $13,000 range, depending on the size. If you would like to explore this, send us an email at: info@diamondmowers.com with your contact details. The best place for us to begin is to understand your application. Thank you, Tim Kubista 651-955-6665
If the objective is to cut the brush low to the ground, then our product would be a poor fit and you will be replacing a lot of teeth. In these circumstances, a hydraulic shear is a better choice. However, if it is acceptable to leave stumps at 12" or higher, about the rocks/obstructions, then our attachment would be a good fit.
Eric Mucklow - Eric I have an extremely rocky farm and as I have been careful this hasn't been a problem. I am very cautious in the rocky areas and the machine allows good visibility up front to avoid rock damage.
If the SR220 has the optional high flow it would have 37+ gallons per minute and would be able to run it. If it only has its standard low flow at 24.2 it will not be a good fit.
Hi Christopher - can you send us a PM on our FB page so we can get your contact info to share this information? Here's the link: facebook.com/DemandBrilliance/
Unfortunately, the Diamond Mower Skid Steer Forestry Brush Cutter requires a skid steer with an auxiliary hydraulic flow rate of 32 to 41 gpm. Since your Kubota SVL-75 doesn’t have the high flow option, it will not have enough hydraulic flow to operate the Diamond skid steer forestry brush cutter. However, your skid steer may have enough hydraulic flow to operate our skid steer rotary brush cutters. Depending on your application, this rotary style brush cutter may be able to handle your brush cutting application. Please feel free to call our factory and speak to one of our inside sales people and they could discuss your application with you.
This doesn't have the specs to handle the Forestry Mulcher. It needs to have 32 GPM, needs to be able to lift 2,240 lbs, and needs Lexan glass for the cab.
Kevin: Check out this comparison of our Forestry Mulcher compared to these Drum Mulchers from competitors. We'd be glad to discuss any other questions. info.diamondmowers.com/skid-steer-forestry-mulcher-comparison
I have ran lots of flails, and if the teeth come off ever that is a very stupid way to cut. We used to own 12 of them, and that was the first thing we told our guys not to do.
It’s also not a good idea to do technically 3 with a wider, and longer tree I’ve seen another video of one of these doing that, they ended up with a totally jammed machine :(
Good point! The key to operating the disc mulcher is to maintain the speed of the disc. With any size tree, you risk jamming it up if the disc is turning too slowly. Take your time and keep the speed up
The guys I said that jammed their mulcher the disk was full speed and the deck was low it was attempting to take in a good section of a big branch on the ground and that’s when they jammed up their machine the jam was so bad the disk was on an angle and they couldn’t even unjam it with a chain connected to a tree, the branch was totally jammed inside the deck
Go to a video called “Disc or Drum Mulcher” by Stanley “Dirt Monkey” Genadek and watch it from 10:40 and you’ll see how they jammed their machine and you may be able to provide another tip or a don’t do when you do another one of these kind of videos
Our forestry mulcher is what we call High Flow, by that Diamond Mowers means 32 GPM or higher for flow. If you need and/or want the forestry attachment that is pictured they retail for $21,950 + shipping. However, depending on what size trees you are cutting and what you're doing with the downed trees, there may be other options. Feel free to give our inside sales consultants a call and they can help determine the best Diamond Mower product for your application.
Hi Valci: Yes, this is a Skid-Steer attachment. Not sure if this model comes with a high flow option or not. On our rotary heads, we need 17-41 GPM of hydraulic flow. It appears that this model has 16.9 GPM unless it has a high flow option. What are you trying to cut Valci?
This reminds me of the Promac 52 that I had mounted on a John Deere 690. We didnt destroy trees..we processed them into mulch. Be aware how you promote yourself in today's market.

A professional voice is sufficient for me as a buyer. I might consider the Diamond despite the obnoxious music track.
Ewww, do you have it in Arctic White or maybe a teal? That color would kill the trees before the blade ever hit them. I’m going to go put forks in my eyes now.

But don't worry, when operated properly, it's a safe product.

The Forestry discs (all of them) spin at about 15,000 feet per minute, which is roughly 1000 RPM. Thanks for reaching out to us from Mexico!
Looks like a great unit, however, using an attachment like that without cab glass protection (even if the front is polycarbonate) is insanity.
