So how much did I spend on my 2018 Shelby GT350R? In today's video we go through the deal I got on a used GT350R, tax, registration, oil change costs and more! Before the newest GT500 launched, the R was the priciest Mustang you could buy, most of them had an MSRP of just around $70k when new. About 2 years ago, I seriously considered buying one, but was frustrated that nearly all dealers were selling the cars for $10-20k markup, which I was not interested in paying. So I waited for a while, and now 2 years later I was able to get one for a pretty good deal! After a fresh oil change, I am ready to put many fun miles on this car and share the ownership experience with you guys!

A7 is amazing. I prefer the supercharged by far.
$57,000 for a 2018 GT350R is an excellent deal, considering the original owner must have paid over MSRP.
Don't need to apologize for buying the "R" model. Every GT350 Owner secretly wishes for the "R" model. :)))))))))))
Original owner was able to get it for MSRP! But saving a bit from brand new was nice. Car also already has PPF and the Watson half cage installed.
@@EddieX Oh yes! Extra savings. I hear many folks are doing flex fuel for their GT350s, using E85 for more horsepower.

Love the color and the blk stripes. Great price for that car with those miles. I once bought a car out of state when I was living in Michigan and drove it home with no plate from Savannah GA. Of course I got pulled over and has everything the law stated I had to have (bill of sale, proof of insurance, signed off title,etc). Officer gave me a ticket anyway for no plate and I had to stay and appear in court 2 weeks later. Judge threw it out but it was a major pain in the...local dealer helped me out and gave me a paper plate to get home on without more issues. Great content E!

Love these price vids! Gives a great example of what the real world is like and what it takes to obtain things! Also good heads up for things to do and don’t do when buying cars.
You can see that it already has some aftermarket goodies... A tow hook and a roll cage to make just 2. The roll cage costs a pretty penny, too, and the tow hook requires the removal of the front bumper to install it. Extra score!

Beautiful car. I recommend taking your own oil to the dealer when they change it. I used to take Amsoil (dealer approved) when I got mine changed, much better oil for longevity. Enjoy!

Anyone who lives in Chicago understands that the potholes in the city are horrible, you definitely don’t want to crack the carbon fiber wheels if you are daily driving it

Unfortunately an oil catch can might void your warranty. Under the Magnuson-Ross warranty act of 1975 a manufacturer can not deny a warranty claim for using aftermarket parts or services unless the manufacturer was paying for service/parts. Which is not the case.
Interesting, honest account- thanks. Could you do a video on the main differences between buying via a dealership versus privately, e.g. pros/ cons, questions asked/ checks you made on the seller, how negotiations went (e.g. for inspection fee payment), etc? Would be helpful to those considering this.

Here we are in 2022 and you can barely get a low mileage non-R GT350 for $60K. I’ve seen GT350R at auction going for $100K+ now.

The GT350R were hot for a minute but not so much anymore with the GT500 in the new mach one coming out you’ll be able to get them a lot cheaper soon

I take my GT350 to the dealer as well for service because these motors are crazy expensive to replace and I am giving Ford zero reasons to deny a warranty claim. I’ve has my 2018 since last November and I love the car even more, than the day I bought it (used, had 1400 miles and I paid $49K with Recaros and electronics package).
Look into the Steeda Ultralite Gtrac brace. Even with the stock Super Sports I noticed a lot of tramline and the brace really helped. $80 and a really easy install.
For my Focus RS the oil change was $104. You got a good price EddieX.

60K is a lot of money for a used car. Now I am looking around the country for a "GT350" only and there is more than a few brand new 2018 I am just playing the game before I pull the trigger...
Eddie like I said in previous video great car. I can tell you that the price was fair for that car man, I been looking for one for last few months wanted the 2020 but after speaking my local dealer the markup was 25k I said hell no. So I'm looking around for 18 model or 19 if it's within reason. Pre-owned low miles is the way to go. Your wise to remove carbon fiber wheels and adding after market wheels don't listen to some of these people if those wheels get damage it's alot of money to replace why take a chance. The roads in Chicago are terrible my brother lives there I know the deal.

Buying used is a HUGE mistake. Nearly everyone pounds these engines early before a 1000 miles and then they consume oil. One car you truly need to buy new.

With higher rpm it'll resonate/vibrate and the seal fails

That issue was fixed in the middle of model year 2017 by switching it to a canister. I have a late 2017 and it’s the new canister style; eddies being a 2018 he will have the canister too
I test drove a Shelby. Really loved the stock sound, but it was complete shite for city driving. All the torque is in the high rpms. Great for the track but not so fun between tight stoplights, and this thing tramlines more than any car in my vocabulary. Unless you're tracking this car regularly, you may tire of it more quickly than you think. Fortunately they hold value fairly well.

Nice car! I’m trying to line up a just for fun race with someone I know that has one, just a quick from a dig 0-100 straight line against my (slightly) modded 4x4 450-470hp 19’ f150 5.0. Should he give me some car lengths or should we see if he peels out instead of hooking up? If I win I’m hoping he wants to test drive the truck and vice versa!!!

Check how the oil filter is tightened man! That other guy on RUclips the resonance frequency made it come loose and his car burned down.

a stock mustang GT premium costs just under 100k here in Taiwan same price as a base model porsche macan , and over 1500 per year to register it... and the average salary of a collage graduate is less than 1k per month XD
