During the annual fire inspections in the complex where our machine shop was, the firemen always commented on how neatly organized and clean our shop was.
Our Dad taught us to organize the place much like what you have done with your shop.
One can be much more productive when everything is organized.
I had noticed that there is a lack of fire extinguishers etc. Around his shops.
Cole the Money Man Extraordinaire, Shop Designer and De-Clutterer, Organizational Master, Farmer and House builder. Boy, you carry a lot on your shoulders Cole. I applaud you !!
Money man extraordinaire? Wasn’t he the one asking for money to pay for his bins
@@iahawks9434 Yes that is true. But Cole is the man who handles all the money and accounts for the farm and home, He went to seek the funds, because he is the money man who did the research to get said money. And it was A LOT of money !!
@@iahawks9434 He got a great interest rate on it, too.
I can't wait till the bin lawsuit is over and we can finally get the whole story! A pipe falling from the bin is unimaginable. Good luck 🤞
The bind site needs to be condemned.
They never tell the entire story. 😂
@@jzlharvey they can’t until the legal stuff is resolved.
Isn’t this the dude hiding an entire kid and wedding?
I’m sure the lawsuit will have an nda and he can’t say anything about it.
Excellent video. I appreciate your continuing quest for improved efficiency.
Have you ever thought about having 4 large, heavy duty rolling tool carts (say 60" x 30" x 58") with 6" caster wheels on each cart that would have your most used tools on each? That way each person could roll their tool cart to the work project area and have almost everything they need within arm’s reach. You may choose to stock these carts with tools like hammers, socket sets, wrenches, pliers, vice grips, screw drivers, drills, impact drivers, torque wrenches, tape measures, oil filter wrench, oil drain pan, wire brushes, zip ties, rags, mechanics gloves, WD-40, grease guns and grease, etc.?
When you're finished servicing a piece of equipment, you replace all of the tools to that carts and roll them back to the side wall next to the other tool carts.
Think of it like the way a hospital stocks individual emergency rooms. When you go into an ER unit, there might be 10-50 patient rooms and each has most of the medical equipment to address most 80% of a patient's needs. If it's not found there, then they are wheeling you off to other parts of the hospital like radiology, ICU, surgery to attend to other needs.
The same could be true for your mechanic shop.
For less used tools, you could have a giant tool station with tools like welding equipment, pry bars, heat guns, tap and dye set, digital calipers, wire strippers, engine degreaser, brake cleaner, vehicle jack, telescoping mirror, etc.
Keep the videos coming.
We sold bearings, belts, pulleys, nuts, bolts and all matter of product you would use on the farm. Our main job was designing, building and maintaining machines for manufacturing . We stocked 125,000 part numbers on site. We had a further 8 million available. I fought inventory climb for 30 years. I fully understand an organized shop. I also understand having what you need.. not too much or too little. Inventory is the expense that keeps on costing. You cant be without it , but it will hurt or kill your business if not controlled. A farm is a business.
I love the input on the shop storage. We are currently re-organizing our shop and this is massively helpful! Keep them coming! You and this content is very appreciated.
Good Bones
Awesome video as always! Suggestion; maybe keep a dry-erase board in the shop, some come with a calendar; then you could write down deadlines for things needing to be done by a certain date, and for making to-do lists for needed items; maintenance, etc.
Love this video, I have a wood shop and I get so many great ideas and thought processes from you. THANK YOU
Shop is looking good 👍. Updating the other building with tin, new heater and new lighting is awesome. Praying 🙏❤️ for you and your family about the bin site disaster. I pray 🙏 that no one gets hurt going up and down the ladder and way up top on those bins. It's been scary when you guys are up there. All the mothers, pipes, belts clogging, freezing and burning up. It's been a nightmare and I hope and pray that you guys get reimbursed and the site repaired and done correctly!
Glad to see another video!
Cooper and yourself are setting Cornstar Farms up for long term success! little at time goes miles Success is contagious. Fantastic job on cleanup “mess attracts mess and mess is magnetic”
Great job Cole! Having neatness and order goes a long way when working efficiently. 🥰 to the family.
Amazing life knowledge and decluttering advice in one short video. Wonderful results too, hope this is a great season for you guys.
Thank you for publishing another video. I enjoy them. Please keep sharing.
Hello Cole I just wanted to pass on a little trick I use in my pole building, if you silicone spay ( turtle wax silicone car wax spay) your walls once you get them clean then pretty much to keep the walls clean all you have to do is use a micro fiber cloth to wipe down the walls, the dust wipes right off, just a trick I use in my shop, love the channel
Ahora esta muy listo. Bien trabajo hermanos. I did what you were talking about in my garage. I bought a roll away tool chest and built my work bench over it. I love it. Good idea! Go for it.
Very well thought out points. You just described in a nutshell how your place got to be in the shape it was in before you started cleaning, hauling off and organizing. Well done!
I love organization and cleanliness! I enjoyed this video.
Nice work guys. So proud of the family. Thank you, for the “stuff” you grow for me and my family. Circle of life, we work to earn money to buy stuff you grow, so without all of us doing our part there would be us. THANK YOU EVERYONE, keep doing your part.
Glad to c the pup is still alive
Cole,
Life gets in the way with those "pull aways." Your solutions are game changers that anyone can use. Thanks for the video.
XOXO from a grandmother.
this video bings me so much joy, amazing job x
SO SATISFYING! Great Job boys!!!
Will Cole ever tell us about the BIG secret?
@@nickjewart9351 nope, he's a fraud through and through
Congratulations on the wedding and the birth of Eduardo!
@Nave I Noticed you helping Cole and Cooper clean in the fast motion segments toward the end of the video! It was nice to see you again Nave. Even if it was in fast motion!. I've really missed you lately!
Poor puppy has to lay on COLD CONCRETE wow. no bed or blanky in shop for puppy. WOW SHOP ORGANIZED??? YES YES YES so proud of all of you for sure GOOD JOB!!! God Bless you all.
Sandra Van Lankvelt. That poor puppy has several soft places to lay but at times he chooses the cold concrete.
I enjoyed watching the video, big thumbs up on the clean up, the shop looks good
This tickled my brain in the right way. I appreciate your thought process.
I totally agree with you about keeping your equipment organized. When I'm getting ready to work, I go through a mental checklist of what I'll need and get them. It drives me nuts when someone comes along and says can I borrow this for 5 minutes and then loses it. I have to go hunt it down which slows me down and I get behind on my work project. Why can't they be organized I don't know. Nutsy
Shop looks beautiful!
I was exhausted listening you to explain the inefficiency of the old set-up in the shop!!!!! Glad the new organization process is moving forward! Blessings!!
Looking Great and enjoyed the dialogue on organization and efficiency.
You guys and your family Rock!! God Bless All of you and Other Farm Families that Keep up America's Families feed!! From Ne USA 🇺🇸 lol Ms T Ellis
Hi Cole, Cooper and Dad. Just wanted to say comment and As always good luck and God Bless. Stay safe out there.
i turn 70 yrs old , work hard most of my life , but i never forgot to enjoy myself along the way , working hard is ok COLE but do stop and look at everything around you , life is short and time does fly bye , be well, be safe and always take time to enjoy life ,
Thank you for saying this, I work hard but sometimes I don't feel like I'm doing enough. Working yourself to death is shame because it's not only yourself that you're providing for but others.
I agree totally. My OCD would not let me pass up something that needs to be picked up or I have to leave the room. It is very difficult to overcome this urge. Still cannot stop watching that sexy smile. Keep the videos coming! 😎
Excellent progress my man! 👍👍🤩
The shed looks great, well done 😁👌👌👌👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Wow what a difference. Well done. Makes me think spring cleaning just around the corner.
Good to see you and your cute brother, Goldilocks, working together. Dad must be so proud of you guys.
Yes you said that right! I’m pretty impressed with your pronunciation!!
Your gonna succeed in life Cole, I hope DC is proud
Organization goes a long way! Great job
Cole you are a superstar brother. it makes a big difference? Sure does. I bet you mom and dad is so proud of you boy's have learned out. You have to do this every year. If you haven't touched something for 5 years, it's trash time. That works. Neal Apollo Beach Florida
Plus everything clean and in its place prevents accidents and injuries!
People might think this video was boring. You would be very surprised to find out how much money and time are wasted daily on issues like this. Let alone how much money companies spend yearly to research this issue for profitability purposes. It's a ligit topic. Even all the way down to restaurants, fast food, blue collar companies, factories, and delivery services. Great way to educate.
Team work makes the dream work.
Always like the videos so informative and detailed yea awesome job on the organization looking good
Man I can't wait till I get some time to do this in my barn. Place is a mess right now. Hopefully this summer I get some time to organize.
Clean and organized....looks fantastic. Makes life so much easier. Great job.
You should be a motivational speaker on how to declutter and organize your farm, to get the most done, in the easiest and quickest way! I want to declutter our house, but it's hard when we're both the sentimental ones on our families!
When I deliver products to farms I can tell the difference between those who care to do a little extra and those who don’t. You guys do a lot extra and it shows.
Thanks for the video Cole, you’ve given me some inspiration for my shop. So many of the same trappings. 😂😂😂
I couldn't agree more about a clean shop. Nice music during the time lapses.
So first of all great job! I a couple of ideas that might help as well. First of all get a couple of empty tool carts / tables and what you do is when you have a job in the shop you load your tools on it with your consumables and then take it over to the work site. This gives a central location to put your tools while working instead of scattered round the floor. When your done with the job you roll your little cart back to the tool area and put everything away and dump your trash. The second thing I have started to do is every time I have a job like change the oil or replace a water pump for example I write down every tool that ended up on my little cart and next time I can load all of the necessary tools / consumables and not a bunch of extra. ADD I know.
Sounds like a brilliant idea!
Salut. Nicely done and it really looks far, far better. I would suggest taking watered down wax / polish and apply to the areas of the walls most needed to stay " dust free. " Makes it very, very easy to wipe or air blow clean. Just a thought from past experience.
Thanks for another “Kaizen” episode. Always an engaging topic. Cool to see you put it into practice
Awesome job gentlemen and ladies.
Another great video. Thanks for sharing 🤙🏽
Problem with putting the tool chest under the work bench is the dust. All the grinding dust ends up on/in the tool chest. That stuff gets everywhere. Also, pallet racking works well to create a work bench. You can move the height easily if you need to. Variable lengths, 8, 10, 12 ft. And you can add additional shelving above the work bench to have some vertical storage for stuff that doesn't get used often but once/twice a year. For a bench surface, you can use wood or buy a sheet of steel plate and lay it in there.
yeah, the vice, bench grinder, and drill press are way too close together, they will live and learn.
You need a huge 25ft CornStar Farms vinyl wrap logo on the back wall of all your shops! That’d be sick!
Roger Penske would be so proud of you!
I love how clean you made the shop. I geek out on organization!
Cole the Super Efficient Cornstar!! I'm pretty organized but now I feel the need to organize again.... lol Great video!!!
The 7140 is looking goooooood !
Such a good way of putting it about shiny sindrome, it so true, great work all of you
Cole the man of many hats👍👍👍👍👍👍
My fav type of vid!! Starting my spring cleaning. So what understand what you are saying.👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I meant to say, play nice Cause le. Good job, Conner!! 👏👏👏👏👏👍💞
Si Cole, lo dejiste bien. Muy buen trabajo 👌🏻
God bless you all for neighbor helping neighbor. 💪🏽🙏💖🐝
With retractable hoses and cords, wipe them thoroughly with Armor All - it reduces the friction when retracting, and protects the hose. More rapid retraction. Do it a few times a year if you can.
You all r fantastic!!!👍🏻👏🏻
I love it Cole I think they call it OCD lol but you are right about the path to clutter, the process and I am looking forward to seeing your progress in the new shop and any other plans you have. Oh and having had to deal with legal issues before people don’t realize how long it takes to resolve those issues so hang in there and don’t settle for anything but what’s right!
Oh he's 100% OCD
It’s called adderall
The OCD is strong in this one !
He's an example to small farmers.
@@leetingler619 not so sure. I like the Welker's example more. Use older equipment that is still good, repurpose etc
I loved shop cleanup’s
Shops looking good.
Awesome job kids!
Planting season is coming time to get the shop ready. I've seen the John Deere trucks drive past my house few dozen times the last two weeks.
Daddy Cornstars old Chocolate milk drinking table and refrigerator!!
Now he has a Cadillac Milk drinking cabin!
Looks amazing!!
All that organization is called 5S!! Working more efficiently!
I love clean up videos!
Love this video!
Great organization. I like it
Cleaning and organizing on a working farm, or even in a family household is something that never ends! The important thing to remember is to just try your best and ensure that everyone else is on the same page. Great job Cole and family!!
Always good see daddy cornstar
Now let's start on your house Cole. Start rebuilding inside can't wait before planting starts.
great video Cole. Shop is looking good...How is the inside of your shop come along with the tin ? maybe an update please
Summer, good choice of tunes on this video.
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎
Great video
You should hang a bunch of those extension cords from the ceiling in the barns with trickle charger on the tractors
Ooh, satisfying!!!
I know the feeling. I helped my brother clean his shop at the farm . The size of a small barn.
I need to do this thanks for the inspiration
You have probably noticed already that your clean and organized shop is a very calming space… less stress and anxiety is awesome for our immune system. A clean space is a safe space… which adds $$$$$$$$ to the bottom line. So impressive, Cole!
I love how your brain works!
This was such a useful and timely video for me. I am about to clean out and re-org my own little shed. I am using some of your ideas, Cole. Thanks for sharing them!
I love your YT handle. 🥰
@@Stephen_A. 😉 It is loved and maligned by many. It originates in fables / folktales from some of my ancestors, though similar characters exist in many cultures world wide. My, oh my, what a wonderful day!

Good night Cole and family
Harbor Freight has some really good benches for great prices. I got a 6ft one for $1,200 that the drawers are on roller bearings.
I buy the soccer sets like you do and I set 4 of them one in each corner of the shop. That way I have the tool there and everyone knows that when you're done with it that goes back to the Box. Same way with wrenches and drills for not in one place or four different places in the barn
Like you videos Cole cooper and daddy cornstar keepem coming ya,ll
EFFICIENCY EXPERT, GO YOU..GOOD TO BE ORGANIZED!
