Dude, Grinding that whole garage was a feat on its own… let alone to record it and fill in the cracks, I’m surprised that you were able to do it, and make great content while doing it. Keep it up, excited to see you fix the head gasket on your eclipse!
I am constantly amazed at how hard you work, this is a HUGE job and not a lot of fun. Consider doing the epoxy coating with grit so the floor has some grip, that's been nice on the garages we have done. Not sure if that's an add-on product or you'd need to exchange for a different one. The owner must be stoked, you're increasing the value of their property a lot doing all this. Could you ask if they want to contribute a little to the cost? The worst they can do is say no.
@@_Gingium_ you will for sure! Crawling around on clean epoxy flooring is so much nicer than the greasy, dusty, patchy floor that was there before 🤢. Lighting is gonna be better too like you mentioned! Keeping your cars and workplace clean is gonna be way easier. Ahhh I'm so stoked that you're redoing the flooring. This channel is gonna be transformed with a nice shop!
This is the first video of yours I have ever seen. I 10000000% admire you for doing ALL this prep work to make sure the floor is properly prepared.. 99% of the people in this world would NOT do this. THIS is why you are a success on YT and as a business owner.. Keep up the great work!
For other people cleaning an area like this, don’t use the pressure washer wand, use a floor cleaner attachment. Infinitely easier, cleaner and more effective. He’s right to grind before epoxy anyways though.
When I did pressure washing as a pro, we used a few different surfacers and two of them had vacuum ports so we could hook up our recovery machines. Our units were 3500 psi at 5 gallons per minute and we ran the water at 200 degrees f. and used a degreasing soap that was custom mixed for us. The dirtiest two jobs I worked on were an auto shop where engines were torn down and rebuilt and a sharpening shop. On the sharpening shop we washed from the ceiling down. Much of our work was for restaurants and our more iconic locations were LA Staples Center, Dodger Stadium, and the Nokia Theater. Kitchen tile and equipment can be very dirty. Dodger stadium thought the kitchen tile grout was black. It was really gray, but the chemicals, heat, and surfacer cleaned it up. That was work I did when our washing crews needed more help, but I was also a pro painter among other trades (all at the same time), so I agree that grinding the old epoxy was best.

I did the RockSolid Polycuramide 2-part finish in my 2 1/2 car garage before we moved in. It took me 4 days to empty it out, clean the floor, degrease the floor, patch it, grind it, scrub it, degrease and wash it over and over and then about 1/2 day to put the finish down. The problem (at least for me) with those kits is that the color doesn't match 100% from one bag to the next - I figured it was mainly from mixing, but it could have been a difference from batch to batch from the manufacturer. Renting that concrete grinder was a great idea - that stuff would have never adhered very well with all that embedded grease and grime. Even the smallest amount of oil or grease causes the finish to thin and bubble and dissipate. Beautiful job! All that hard work was totally worth it. And, YOU ARE TOTALLY CORRECT about having a nice place to work improves your attitude, drive, and productivity. It makes a HUGE difference. When I build my shop, I'm gonna have the pros do it - they can mix it in big quantities - I checked out a local group - and I've seen them use 10 gallon buckets to mix -and they have a big crew so it goes faster.

Spent a summer long ago working for a "gourmet garage" remodeler. Put lots of epoxy down on concrete. They had GIANT floor grinder with giant vacuums. The only downside was they were even harder to get into corners and next to walls, so, there was more hands and knees with a hand grinder. No need to etch when you grind it like that. Just go over it a bunch with a good vacuum.
Don’t loose face man, you worked hard harder than we know. But, you know you made the right decision to put the effort in now. Good on you. Life lesson learned, the budget always blows.

Hey mate well done. I’ve done a lot of grinding myself in a remodel 80m2 on my hands and knees. Tip: if you don’t want your vacuums to die, use a bucket in between the grinder and vac and add a dust collector to it. It’ll grab all the heavy material and won’t kill your vacuum.
not gonna lie, i love car repair and upgrade videos, but i'm an absolute sucker for renovation and optimisation of shop spaces, so yeah, can't wait for more lol
Hey just a lil word of wisdom. All RIDGID vacs have a lifetime warrenty. Ive warrentied some that looked like yours with the same issuse and got a new one just in case you still have a hold of them.

So glad you filled the rest of the cracks, you woudl have regretted that everytime you rolled something over them. Awesome work as always!
I love how hunter is just sits while gingium is doing the work XD
This looks so frustrating to have to do all this prep but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Gingium props to you man for sticking to it and doing it right!
Omg. That floor grinder was sooooooooo satisfying.
This dude appreciates everything he owns and takes good care of it makes me enjoy the videos way more
Nice job. 👍 I cannot believe how many people love watching deep cleaning / before and after videos. Gingium channel is back!
I own a pressure washing business and what you need is a surface cleaners attachment. It’ll make cleaning then concrete floors a-lot more easier
Short term pain for long term gain
You'll be churning out builds in no time. Keep it up dude
not gonna lie, i love car repair and upgrade videos, but i'm an absolute sucker for renovation and optimisation of shop spaces, so yeah, can't wait for more lol
A ton of work but it looks amazingly better! I can't wait to see the finished product!
looks like you got so much done! grinding all that concrete within a day is insane.
Hey just a lil word of wisdom. All RIDGID vacs have a lifetime warrenty. Ive warrentied some that looked like yours with the same issuse and got a new one just in case you still have a hold of them.
SERIOUSLY INSANE how much work ur putting into this new shop! I think you said your leasing it which is insane ur doing all this work! Seriously one of the few self made hard working RUclips creators on this platform!! Keep up the great work man!!!
Miata Mansion, an ode to the roots of this channel 🔥
Not sure if you saw my comment on the last vid and took it on board, but in case you did, thanks bud. I love your content and I'm glad to see you're evolving
that’s dedication bro, this is why i love this channel, there’s so much pride in working hard
you should paint those metal beams either black or grey, I think that would look dope. congrats on the shop!
Been down that road more than a few times. Another 25 years and 15 shop moves you will call a steam clean professional. Good of you to clean that stuff out of the drainage so it doesn't wind up in my fishing hole. Good luck hang in there it gets better.
Mx garage, I mean the miata is why I came to this channel in the first place a few years back, same with the scooby, good to see you’ve come far man
it's a lot of work but man it's such a huge change and I for one highly appreciate the time, work and effort you put into your shop just like you do your cars. Keep the transformation coming!
Just want to say congrats again! You deserve it, brother!
Respect for your prep work. It's hard AF, and you care so it's even more important to you. You're setting a good example, keep up the work and the content, we all appreciate it.
IMO it's worth doing all this work to have a nice floor because you're constantly touching it, unlike the walls or the cieling. I'm sure this will be an excellent shop!
Dude, you won’t regret all this work once it’s done and looks great.
I don’t understand the lift in the back of the shop cause it can’t go up that high consider the beam is right above it. Great work! Excited to see more great content!
Insane dedication to the shop. Going to be soooo worth it.
