How on earth can anyone watch your videos and comment that roof cleaning is a waste of money?? They must be the same people who dont bother making their bed because they are only sleeping it it later!! Sterling job as always Nick 👏 Hopefully they will get you bavk in the summer to do the patio
People don’t understand the weight of a roof. If add in the moss, wet or covered in snow you’re talking about an incredible amount of weight which a timber roof is just not engineered for. This leads to unnecessary stress and load on the house. Look how good it looks? Looks a million pounds and really pretty with the variation in tile colour. Great job fella 😉👍🏻
I tried the "why make my bed if I'm only gonna sleep in it tonight " thing as a kid, my mom's response? Why wipe yourself if you're only gonna poop again...she had me on that one!😄
If they're were to get a roofer to come in and repair the tiles, the roofer will tell them to get someone into remove all of the moss before they will even touch one tile. Because the moss is what is damaging the tiles in the first place. Thank you for your continually educating us on proper tile cleaning. Tons of love from the US!
@@user-eg7lc1xx5w To the guy trying to repair it, it most likely would. That's why people go to the expense of having their STEPS and WALKWAYS, on the ground, power washed clean from lichen, moss, slime and fungi. On a pitched roof, it's even more dangerous. Step on some moss up on a tile, on a pitched roof, and we'll see you at ground level lickety-split. Why do you think our Roof Cleaning Guy isn't wandering all over the roof with the powerwash wand, but cleaning it from trestles?
@@user-eg7lc1xx5w Ah, you're speaking of the owner's desire to have the roof cleaned. So if there were broken tiles, and a roofer got up there to fix, it wouldn't be slippery? Because, from watching many of these kinds of videos, one of the main reason someone gets the moss and slime mold etc. power washed away is because it makes steps and walkways slippery, particularly in those rainy regions (where these naturally proliferate)...Sometimes owners have to remove because of "cosmetic" reasons; neighbourhood watch is not pleased...Your info relates more to whether or not the moss degrades the roof tiles in the first place; I'll always bow to superior knowledge on that front.
The house from the roof down now looks like a new home!!! Have to admit that my arms were getting tired just watching this video. Damn dormers. Love the tile pattern, the washing brought out the beauty of that roof. Now they just need to hire you to come back and do that patio. 😉 Excellent job as always, Nick. Have a great week and thank you for sharing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
OMG the difference before/after on the roof at around 930 is astonishing. What a beautiful roof it is when revealed. And what a great job (as always) by you.
WOW WOW WOW!!! You have just added value to this home exposing the beauty of this roof! As someone who has always power washed our deck and pool surround myself, I know how tiring and slow this process can be. And that is just standing and using a 3 foot wand positioned straight down! Here you are, on a 12 to 15 foot ladder, using a wand that must be at least just as long, with water surging through it, trying to keep your balance and methodically going back and forth to remove this moss! And constantly needing to climb back down and reposition the ladder!!! EXCELLENT JOB!!! Worth every penny and then some! BTW Female here, 76 years old! Have a great day! Liz👋🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
I wonder if the kickback from the washer tip angling down helps lift the whole bit of pipe, so it’s not QUITE so heavy. Still a lot of work though. An awesome service this guy provides.👍
The pressure holds it up "easily" enough. The difficult and back breaking part is when you stop the pressure and have to avoid the lance dropping & hitting the tiles as that WILL crack them.
The door on the outside of the fireplace used to be common on all large fireplaces. Not sure why they have gotten away from it but it allows the homeowner to push the ash to the back of the firebox so it falls down into the metal box under the firebox so you can remove it all through the clean out door on the outside of the home. That way you do not have to make a mess by carrying ash through the house to clean out the fireplace.
All I can say I find you to be an honest professional with integrity. I enjoy your explanation in the beginning because I am in Canada and am happy you explain what the situation is as we generally have shingles on our roofs where I live. The roof is turning out beautiful entirely due to your work. Ignore the negative comments as they are extremely ignorant about roof maintenance. Pace yourself and have a break after this job!
