    GREAT VIDEO, dear ihdc1! Ether-Clear sight: clean air, clean ground, clean water...worth posting and praising! And 747 dash 8 is an engineering marvel: Its majestic, its solid-state, truly breathtaking! SUPERB GE-NX 2B engines, fantastically spooling in perfect tandem (at counter 47---49). Hats off to boeing, hats off to Korean air for giving/having such a flying-fortress! Keep it up!

    Flew the same route a few years ago on Korean 747-8. At the time they had just this one daily flight to/from ICN. But once they changed to two daily flights, pre-pandemic, the 747-8 went away in favor of two 777-300s. Shame on them, so I quit flying Korean from HKG. For me, If I must fly a 777, might as well be on SingaporeAir with the famous Singapore girls service!

      Hah ! I would like to reply, I am Roger Ruuska aka Tootkaylok, as a very young boy I am sure I flew a couple of times aboard the Boeing 707, perhaps the somewhat late 1950s to mid 60s from Anchorage, Alaska to what we called" the lower 48s" visiting my foster parents relatives mostly in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I still have very fond memories of that time. I always have and always will enjoy flying, whether private and, or during the course of my Military career visiting the numerous countries (and the associated cities) we went in the course of supporting our allies. I am sorry I've forgotten what else I wanted to say. Anyway, thank you for allowing me to share what I did. C/O RDRT.

    Wow, such a clear day. You can see the peak of Mt. Diablo--30 miles away!

    Why do they waste so much runway length? Keeps rolling so long before takeoff ;)

  • @jasoncavitt2043
    @jasoncavitt2043 6 лет назад +3

    Man, I didn't know they had five-mile runways. Maybe those softly purring engines weren't full tilt?

      28R/10L is only 2.3 miles long

    My suggestion is, it appears to be quite a large jet, and if so, it would certainly have to have a long runway to properly fly out of. It doesn't seem to indicate the airport and city it's leaving from (not that I can tell?). My last comment I will share with you-- from 1978 to 1982, I was privileged to serve in out USNavy. During the course of out deployments, 1st aboard the USS Midway, an aircraft carrier, then transferred to the USS Brewton, a fast frigate, we visited on Westpac cruises Pusan, Korea several times
