I own one and love it inwoukd recomend putting an inverter in the car for elongated storage or having a plug like alot of trucks have you can leave it plugged

How long will it stay charged if you use the outlet for your cpap? I was thinking it would be a great way to bring the cpap our camping and have the unit to plug into for the evenings.
Per the manual - Keep in mind that this inverter will not operate high wattage appliances or equipment that produce heat, such as hair dryers, microwave ovens and toasters. • Do not use this inverter with medical devices. It is not tested for medical applications.
Just wondering I recently plugged something into the outlet when I turned it on the AC and and a little triangle started flashing. I was wondering If there was a way to stop that and make the outlet work again
Mine did this too after 1 jump. Dead battery. No features worked. Had to recharge for the features to re enable. Returned to Costco. Not pleased with this model at all.
they can be a little buggy sometimes the manufacture actually recommends letting it sit on the charger for 40 hours before first. Thanks for the comment be sure to subscribe for more it really helps me out!
Just bought the upgrade 2022 version at Costco. 99.00 with 20.00 off. 79.00..not a bad deal. It’s charging now for the recommended 40 plus hours before use. I’ll leave mine in the garage. It’s to jump start my car when I do something dumb like leave the dome light on or glove box open. I actually watched a me Shamir at a rock quarry walk out the shop with one and used it to jump start a very large front end loader. I was impressed. Hopefully I didn’t get a dud..
I have the same inverter its like new i only used it a few times im trying to charge the batter but the battery charge indicator is just flashing and blinking. I now got a trickle charger im trying to charge it by connecting to jumper cables but the charging level still blank and battery is just flashing. Have u ran into thid issue? Possibly bad internal battery ?
I haven’t personally ran into anything like that. I will say there might be electronics that stop the battery from RECEIVING energy from the posts which is why it’s not charging. If you’re not able to return or do a warranty service I would try and charge the battery directly. I’m sure it’s just a standard size SLA 12v. I believe it’s capacity’s 9ah so finding a replacement shouldn’t be hard if you go that route. Thanks for the view!
@True Vision I connected the leads to a trickle charger for a day and it actually started holding charge again the low battery indicator went away it only returns when battery is low after multiple uses
Any updates since last entry is a year ago....I just bought one for a cross country trip...not too worried about longevity. If it has issues on trip back to Costco it goes...
I just bought one of these and plugged it in to charge about a week ago. I live in a remote area with lots of variables when it comes to having consistent power, so I don't want to have any surprises with a low/dead charger. Why is it bad to leave it plugged in?
Me thinking the same thing. I think it was only pre-2000 that electronics didn’t self regulate their charging when plugged in. Lol. Nowadays everything does.
I got mine at Costco a few months ago. I read the book and put the thing away as I didn’t understand what I was reading. Thanks for your video. So I did try to use some of the features and it works great.I know now how to use it. And it is charged and ready to go. We are under a winter storm warning now so it’s out of the closet and standing by just in case.

This was great when it was working. Used the air compressor and usb outlets with no issues. Was mainly using for my cpap machine daily. It wouldn't charge anymore after 8 months so had to return to Costco. Glad Costco had 100% return guarantee. Not available in stores so debating if I should get another one online cuz while I was walking out after the return, another customer was walking in with same CAT charger. Its because i flip video game stuff and want to use this jump starter so that i can use my tv to Test game consoles on the road before i buy them so that i dont end up buying junk consoles that dont work due to sellers claiming they work when in fact they dont. Thanks. ANYBODY Knowledgable please reply soon.
It depends on the power draw of the console and tv but in going to say no. It will most likely power the tv but the console will draw too much juice. Nowhere that i can find in the manual does it explain what a flashing "jump starter icon" means. I got that today when the fully charged unit failed to get my tractor to "turn over". It's for situations like this that i purchased this item so quite frustrating that it wasn't up to the task.

@@EveryDayJay415 the next time i hooked it up to the tractor, under largely similar circumstances, it worked fine so hoping it was just a fluke the day it failed.
The air compressor is actually pretty strong. I’ve inflated my suv and othe car tires 30+ times. However I’ve gone thru 3 of these compressors because I never read the instructions. You can not use this air compressor for more than 5 minutes at a time. It will blow out the compressor. But 95% of tires you need to put air into will require only 2-3 minutes of air max. If you’re trying to inflate a car tire from scratch; then yes, this Cat is not for you.
@@sallywong106 good question. I still haven’t read the instructions. The type is too small on the paper leaflets. But I learned my mistake by watching RUclips videos. Don’t search for “cat air compressor”. Rather, do a RUclips search for the more broad “Costco air compressor.” Watch the top 3-4 videos and someone will tell you the answer to your question. There was a predecessor to the Cat model sold at Costco that I preferred. I blew that out but the RUclips videos on that model were very instructive. But my guess is that if you use the air for 5 minutes, you should probably rest it for 15 min?!? Also try to buy new at Costco. It’s only $75 (I always say it’s the best $75 I ever spent and I buy over $30K worth of goods at Costco a year). If you burn out the compressor, you can return to Costco. Personally I’m against returning anything, but that option is there for you.

Jas Kain That’s a common issue with the units, make sure all the buttons /dial is switched off. If that doesn’t fix it try plugging it in to reset the computer in it. It depends on the model but if it’s rated for about 2A of draw at 120v it will be fine. Look on the back of the tool to check the amperage rating at 120V. This inverter can put out about 2A at 120V
This will now power a real buffer. I plugged in my dewalt buffer and it did nothing. This plug is not designed to power equipment. It’s more suited for charging things, power stuff like lights.
I ran a 45watt outdoor LED light and the battery lasted for an hour and 45 minutes.....but it had still retained some juice to run lower wattage devices.

Since I never know when I will need to inflate my car tires or jumpstart my car battery, how practical is it to leave this in your car all the time (trunk) especially when weather is hot or cold? Also, is it reliable even if not in use for long time periods? thx
I own one and love it inwoukd recomend putting an inverter in the car for elongated storage or having a plug like alot of trucks have you can leave it plugged

I think it will be find but i would take it out every week or 2 and give it a charge. The type of battery they use (SLA) are fairly durable but nothing is perfect especially in the extremes.

But where do you put the charging cable when the station doesn’t need charging? Is there a compartment or location on the station itself?
Not that I know of, I’ve seen people wrap it around the handle or jumper itself, I just keep mine in a storage tote with other cords
@@EveryDayJay415 greatly appreciate your response! I noticed small flanges or "hooks" on the backside, but don't know if they have a functionality. I always have a hard time keeping track of cords. Did they forget a compartment to store the ac power cord?
Hi. Anything I plug in, I get an error message. How do I reset it. I don't think it's a defect, because I tool the first one back, and same thing happens. What am I doing wrong?

How long will it stay charged if you use the outlet for your cpap? I was thinking it would be a great way to bring the cpap our camping and have the unit to plug into for the evenings.
It really depends on the power draw of your machine. This is a fairly large battery though.
Can charge to battery or not
Per the manual - Keep in mind that this inverter will not operate high wattage appliances or equipment that produce heat, such as hair dryers, microwave ovens and toasters. • Do not use this inverter with medical devices. It is not tested for medical applications.
Just wondering I recently plugged something into the outlet when I turned it on the AC and and a little triangle started flashing. I was wondering If there was a way to stop that and make the outlet work again
Does it come with the black cord that you used at the end? If not where do I get it?
Yes I should have, I have a similar one linked in the pinned comment

My only issue is that sometimes when I know it is charged it will show an empty battery then I plug it on wall and right away it shows a full battery.

I'm planning to buy it tomorrow from someone. When you say can't use more than 5 minutes what is the wait time in between?

It depends on the model but if it’s rated for about 2A of draw at 120v it will be fine. Look on the back of the tool to check the amperage rating at 120V. This inverter can put out about 2A at 120V
