  • All Battery Powered Jump Starters are not the same. We have several different types and we take a closer look on the inside. Some are powered by SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries, some by Lithium-ion (or polymer), and some using Litihium-ion and super capacitors. No need to carry jumper cables anymore when you have these self-contained Battery Powered Jump Starters onboard with you. #tools #jumpstarter #review

I have Gooloo jumpers in most of my vehicles and they have been great! Never going back to jumper cables.

I have two Gooloo's recommend by Project Farm. One jump started a v8 Tundra no problem. I prefer the pouch cell jump starters because of their compact size. The Gooloo even comes in a nice zipper case to keep everything tidy so you can chuck it under the seat or in the trunk.

I have the GooLoo. I keep it in my car at -35*C. It'll show a little snow flake symbol showing that its too cold to jump, then I'll wait while it warms up the battery pack, say "ready" then I'll hit boost and it'll boost. my 3.0l V6 Escape, I Jumped it twice a day for 3 weeks 6 times a week, never charged it until it hit 50%. Absolutely fantastic.

I carry both, cables and jumpers. I have different styles of cables, as well as different styles of jumpers. Each jump is unique, so I'm prepared. Even for 120v use like your Dewalt. From a Power Wheel to a Semi, I'm ready. 👍

I want to get a capacitor jump pack but I'm on the M18 platform so I guess I'll have to wait!

Least dewalt gives you that nice handle to chuck it over the hill with in 3-5 years when the sla wont hold a charge anymore.
One thing the cap discharge ones have going for them is they generally still work very well when they're freezing cold. Straight lipos, not so much.

I have a Yaber jumper with a 2800mah. This thing jumps everything and charges up fast. I used it when it was 15 below zero

Is there any reason why we can't use an adapter to use a M18 battery with the Ryobi?
I am also waiting for a solid M12 option.

As a DeWALT fanboy their jump box sure was disappointing with that lead acid battery. 😕

Yeah the SLA jump starters are all pretty much outdated. Over my 20+ years as an automotive technician I owned several SLA jump starters. Jump N Carry 770, 770R and 950 models. The 950 was a beast when it was new but after about two years it could no longer start our diesels off the vehicle’s battery was still good but severely discharged. To get those going I had to disconnect the battery, jump it, and then while it was running, reconnect the vehicle battery. Not ideal. I derived over to the NOCO GBX155 and never looked back. That thing is an absolute beast and 3 years on now it still functions flawlessly. I have two of the Gooloo 4000 models for home use and they’ve surprised me quite a bit too.

We need an m12 jump pack with 2 high output 5.0 batteries

Well no we dont NEED that. We just need something that works.
You can buy several cable devices that attach to a single M18 battery and will jump start your car. And they only cost 30 to 40 dollars. Amazon has several of them. Also for Dewalt.

As a former tow truck driver and roadside repairman the only brand I truly rely on is Jump N Carry it is the old Tech with a sealed lead but it has NEVER let me down

Schumacher jump starters are no good, wouldn’t recommend them to anyone, unless you want to throw your money away

  • @Machineius

The Ryobi is definitely the future of the BEST jumpstart packs. I only wish Milwaukee would make one like it. I own that Dewalt, it is a piece of trash. It worked for a few times. Now, being one year old, it can barely start my lawn mower. It can not start my escalade with a battery that is only JUST too low to start the truck on it's own. The gooloo one, my son has one, does work very well. But if you use it a few times and forget to charge it? it is useless. And it does seem to lose some charge just sitting in the trunk.
