I want to like to have friends that are girls that girls to have a crochet blanket and I want to like to make a crochet blanket and I want to like this video
i have a question, would you ever make a tutorial for a knitting pattern for this?
I am super excited to try this pattern, I've been looking for a unique blanket that I can make as a gift for a very dear friend... I'm planning on using Bernat Blanket Yarn... Any pointers for that conversion?
how do you wash it
I love this blanket! I saw it on ig and just had to make one. Your idea of making it a scraps blanket actually gave me the idea of using my grandmother’s left behind yarn to make a Mother’s Day gift for my mom. This is her first Mother’s Day without her and I think this would be perfect 💕Especially being that my grandmother is the one who taught me to crochet.
Awww 🥺 That is so special! 🥰
😭
Omggggg this is such a precious idea!!!!
Did you finish it in time?! Did she love it? We have to know!
Omg that sounds like the most perfect gift ever 🥲🙌 Such a smart idea!
So sorry for the loss of your g-ma. They are the best relatives ❤️
Since mother's day has passed, did she absolutely love it?
I made this. My hubby loves it. He is so happy that I am so Crafty. Every time I watch the RUclips videos, he knows I’m learning to make something. He loves the blankets I make, and so does the rest of my family. Thanks for sharing.
Aw I love that so much!! Thank you for sharing! 🥰
How many square did you do? I wanna do it but I don’t know how many to make 😅
@@rahzo8712 a lot. More then 100.
This is so pretty! I go to Walmart and buy a pillow for $3.44 and that is what I use for the polyfil in my dolls and projects, it works great and is a lot less expensive than the polyfil in the craft section.
Clever!!
Does anyone happen to know if polyfil can be laundered? I know I used to wash my littles stuffed animal in a pillowcase … You know that ONE ‘lovey” that they HAVE to sleep with but just got over a virus etc & it needs to be laundered. Thanks in advance. ~ Anita🧶
I do the same thing, It's much cheaper.
Yes it can. Dry on low heat.
@@Anita3kidsS.
@@Anita3kidsS. Sure it can!
I loved it. My daughter is pregnant and once she gives me her nursery theme I am going to make my grandbaby one. I'm so excited!!!
Aww, I love that!! 😍
Question
Congratulations on your new grandbaby!!
Omg! That’s exactly my situation too!
Im also going to be a grandma in July to a babegirl🎀🐞 Im so excited and making this for her to lay on when she is here with us!
You are an EXCELLENT teacher and demonstrator. I’ve crocheted over 50 years and have never seen a teacher explain and demonstrate stitching into the top of the end stitch. Yes, look for that V … turn your work to see it….
I’m subscribing. :)
And by the way, this is a darling pillow blanket.
Aw, thank you SO much for saying this!! This made my day ☺️💛
Exactly! So agree... sheiladale ❤️ Now I get it!!! So easy but never actually been shown how to count easily like this 😉💎🎉☃️🔥☃️
You have made me an inspired senior citizen of 77 years old. Watching news I saw the devastating flood and deaths and homelessness in Tennessee. My heart breaks for these people and will be making this blanket to send to some one in need in TN. Thank you for your inspiration.
omg i kind of want to make this into a puffy crocheted jacket it would be so cute and colorful thanks for the detailed and clear tutorial
If you do it, please make a video and hopefully the algorithm will bring me back!
Did you end up making it?
This design can go in so many directions depending on color and size. There was a pattern years ago similar to this, but instead of poly fil, clean used nylon hose were used. These days used hose are not as readily available, but I suppose other materials such as thin socks would work if you were looking for something to repurpose. This, of course, might make your squares thinner.
Thanks for sharing this idea. It will be fun to play with the design.
Why does she touch her blanket in such a 53xuaL way?
@@allmigthygoddess939 She just has beautiful hands
@@allmigthygoddess939 If you see it like that you really have a problem.
I am teaching myself how to crochet. I bought some yarn and a hook yesterday in fact and being a lefty, it took a good while to find a left handed tutorial but uh... as soon as I get the basics down and get comfortable and get some smaller projects down, I want to start making this. This looks so adorable and absolutely fits my aesthetic
I wish she’d go a bit slower ! She’s showing off !
Good luck!!
I've made hundreds of blankets out of granny squares and sewed a fleece blanket to the back of it. So warm!
That’s a great idea!
@@sass.and.stitch yes yes it is! I wish I could send you a picture of them I don't know how to do it on this!
You can save yourself so much time by using your hook to do the same thing. I love this idea. Very cool blanket.
I personally liked the look of the hand stitching vs crocheting them together, but that’s definitely an option!
I mean you can use your hook to do the same exact way that you're sewing. It's hard to explain it but it saves time. It's something I taught myself. Another idea something that might add a design flair is crochet them together but use a cool stitch for an outline? Just thinking out loud. I love the quit you created. It's so clever.
I love this. I knit but I am a beginner at crochet. My granddaughter wants to learn, so we will learn together. Thank you for such a clear tutorial.
I’m a knitter learning to crochet too. 🌻
Finally finished my first puff square blanket and am sending a a surprise to my daughter who showed me this pattern on Ig. I was surprised at how stiff and heavy this blanket turned out! Will be an effective, warming comfort item in trying times.
Oh, so fun! Love that so much!
Love this blanket you crochet and since it's doggy approved I will have to dust off my lack thereof crochet skills. My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 11 or 12 years old, sooooo very long ago, so I will try to make her happy as she looks down from heaven and see's me trying your pattern. Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it.😊😀👍🦴
Im left handed and I was still able to follow your directions! Thank you so much
That’s great to hear, thanks for the feedback!
OMG. Definitely going to give this a crack, I have so many yarn/fabric cuttings that I could use as stuffing. Thank you!
This is amazing!! I have tons of scrap yarn and would love to use it for this. Thank you for a very clear tutorial and for taking your time explaining.
Young lady you are an inspiration to all of us old farts. It''s great to see the grand tradition carried on. Love the look. Thanks much!
That is so sweet, thank you so much for commenting! 💛
Wow!! Im in love with this. Years ago I sewed a puff quilt with fabric which made a gorgeous pram quilt. Here's the crochet version! Why didn't I think of it !! Its pretty, you can use up left over yarn or rework half finished projects. Im starting one today....thankyou for a really clear video. For anyone who might not know this you can slow the video..just tap till you see setting cog thing, you will get options, choose playback speed. It really helps.
Thank you for doing this tutorial, I have never seen this type of blanket before. It is such a cute pattern and it's not a hard project at all for anyone wanting to make their first blanket. You did very well!
Beautiful work and inspiring.
Thinking about recycling pillows that get
flat, but washing and drying it first, them
use small amounts to fill the squares.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Very creative and unique! Your instructions are clear and simple. Best design I've seen in a LONG time for using scrap yarn, especially yarns of different weights and makes. Thanks for designing and sharing this!
Aw, thank you so much! 💛
I did a lot of quilts and patchwork, but I never used yarn. That is one fantastic idea. And it looks so cozy. I want one! :)
Love this idea, something like a granny square idea. My mind was rolling with different things to do with this method! Thanks for teaching and sharing!!God Bless!
It’d be cool to use this to make a temperature blanket. Thanks for a great idea and tutorial. ❤️
That's a great idea!!
I like this idea. I'm a home health aid and my current client is always cold
Thank you for this. I have so much leftover yarn, not enough for a solid project so this sounds like a excellent use of the extra. Thanks again!
This is a great basic project that can be used as a basis for so many things! You can use this as a stash/scrap buster, a temperature blanket, or I’ve got ideas to make this with a different stuffing to make it a weighted blanket! Thank you so much for this pattern!
Absolutely! This was a scrap-busting project for me!
I’m going to steal this idea too! A weighted blanket is such a good idea and I love this tutorial too thank you so much xx
I guess we think alike! This would be perfect for making a weighted blanket!
I love this it looks so cozy 🥰🥰🥰 I have a bunch of yarn scraps and I'm curious if I have enough to make this. Also any scraps too small to make a square could be cut up to use as filling!
Great idea! 😌
Love the sewing tip! Flat back and puffy front, love how it looks 💚💚💚
Thank you!!
I am beyond excited to make this! I have so much scrap yarn, this is perfect and SO squishy!!
I cant wait to start this project, it looks perfect for those cold Autumn/Winter evenings, especially with fuel bills rising as high as the heavens🤔 Thank you for this tutorial 💐
your a genius, been crocheting for 50 years and never ever thought of stuffing the squares! Loved your video. Thanks frthe tutorial.
Thanks for sharing. I had a hard time to find out the right stitch to end up each row. But you were right because after practicing, it was finally easy to recognize. Your voice is soft and it s nice to listen. Thanks a lot. 😊
when I saw picture of this crocheted puff blanket for the first time, ( and every other time there after.) I was just completely smitten. I -must- make it! Thank you for the tutorial
Love this thank you!! Can’t wait to start my puffy quilt!
Love it. It looks so cute. I definitely need to make one.
I also really enjoyed watching this video. I feel very calm now even though I didn't even crochet myself. Very peaceful atmosphere. I didn't even plan to watch the whole video just now but here I am 30 minutes later. 😂 Thank you. For both pattern and video. 💕
Oh my gosh, thank you!! This is so sweet! I’m glad it was relaxing for you 😌
What a simply unique design. Thank you!
So puffy and warm. Looks awesome and comfortable ☺️ caught my eye right away. I have to make one or two.
I love this idea. I have a lot of extra Bernat Blanket yarn. I was thinking of making a granny square blanket, but this makes me think I would love to make a granny square quilt from it.
I'm thinking of making two granny squares back to back and filling them, then stitching together, then stitching all together. Yes, it will be very warm. I have a granddaughter who gets really cold, so this would be perfect for her.
It’s crazy! I’ve been wanting to do a blanket like this for months, but couldn’t figure out how to make my squares. I’ve tried almost everything that my mind could muster and nothing was working! This is a beautiful pattern!
Hopefully this pattern helps! 💛
Such a cute idea! I'm going to start right away with my scraps. Thank you for sharing.
Cant wait to start this project after I'm done with my cardigan! Thank you for sharing!
I just finished a small blanket (10x13 squares) out of scrap yarn I inherited from my grandmother and I love it! My plan now is to make one to cover my full-size bed, mostly blue shades in a chevron pattern. I can't wait!
Thank you so much for your wonderful tutorials!
Such a cute puffy blanket! I love it
So beautiful, well done, Robin! Have to put this on my bucket list. Thanks so much for the great tutorial 😍
Oh my, this blanket is very unique, cool and pretty. Thank you 😊
Thank you. This is ez enough, excellent to use up scraps of yarn that can’t be used for a full project, cute, different and clever. I like that it can be done in such a variety of patterns too. Thank you so much for the idea!
This was a incredibly relaxing and calming video to do, while doing a fully different craft with no intentions of picking up Crochet :) thank you for the background entertainment
Aww, that makes me so happy! Glad it was enjoyable! ☺️
I've definitely found my next project! I quilt too so I'm super excited for this crossover. Thanks for sharing
Oh that’s so fun!
I love it I've been wanting to do a blanket like this. Your directions are so easy to understand. Thank you for sharing this. God bless! 💗🥰🧶
あなたの言葉は半分ほどしか理解できませんし、私は鍵編みを経験したことがありませんが、とてもやってみたい気持ちになりました。いつか挑戦したい!
Cute! The colors and puffs make me happy
This is a lovely blanket and pattern and your tutorial is clear and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing! This blanket is definitely going into my queue.
Went to check out your other videos and realized you just started! Congrats!! Excited to see more from you!
This is the best of both worlds for me. I been wanting to do a quilt, but I'm just a little bit apprehensive, because I have never done one before, but I have been crocheting for a long time now, so I do have the confidence to do this. Thank you so much for your brilliant concept.
What an amazing idea. I have all this yarn and i didn't know what i could do with it. This crochet quilt is just the ticket to use it all up. Yay!!! Thank you.
That’s great! 🙌🏻
Love this tutorial and your doggie. Such a great way to use up yarn. This might be a great summer project for me while I’m on the deck supervising the kids and their friends swimming in the pool. So glad I learned to crochet. It is the best thing ever to call my anxiety and easy enough to do when I have a migraine or a Hashimotos flair up.
I have health problems too, and crochet has been such a big help to occupy my hands and mind!
Sooo happy I found this. I do amigurumi mostly, and find some blankets a bit monotonous to make. I think this will really hold my attention because it's much more involved than a normal blanket. It's also gorgeous and I really need one in my life. Thanks for this lovely pattern!!!!
Absolutely! The thing I love about this blanket is that I can do it in “bite-sized” pieces and easily work on it between other projects!
This makes a great scrap yarn idea. I always end up with half a skein and it’s not enough to even make a hat. Great idea
Awww I love this design! This blanket looks so cozy and it's easy to follow. Thank you for the video❤️
I’ve seen the quilting puff quilt and was hoping there would be eventually be one for crochet. Thank you.
I can not wait to make one of these! Such an amazing tutorial 💙 I loved it so much, I went looking for more on your videos. I hope you continue to give us some fun, new, unique tutorials 🤩
Aw thank you! I have lots of fun plans lined up for the coming weeks! ☺️
Great way to use scrap yarn! My grand babies would love this! 💚
That would make an awesome baby blanket for tummy time! So cute
Love the through explanation! Now I want a puffy blanket 💕
Thank you!! Glad it all made sense!
This would make such an amazing weighted blanket kinda thing, can't wait to try this !
Yes, I think this could make a great weighted blanket!

Or just fill the whole pouch with beans, rice, peas, or whatever you want to use for weight (some of them do need to be inside a tighter pouch).
I once bought a wieghted neck tube for a replacement of a water bottle. It was filled with cherry seeds. Warmed the thing up in a microwave. Every once in a while i will soak it in water to put moisture back in the seeds. I dont see why a run thru a washer by its self would hurt the washer provided it wasnt a full size blanket or larger. The seeds holds heat for a long time. Thinking i might try this just not fill the pockets full but partially along with the pillow stuffing. Just a thought im having. I bought that neck warmer at a craft show or home/garden show. Those seeds are germ free too.
im a complete novice and have been watching tutorial videos and such up until now. watching you deftly handle that yarn was a fun skill im looking forward to having
Wow. This is gorgeous.
You could do this as a "cleaning out my scraps" project. New sub! Looking forward to more
I love this idea so much. Can't wait to make one. Thanks so much for the pattern. I make blankets for our local SPCA and they would love these!!!
🙏 You are a beautiful soul for making them blankets. We need more people like you! 💖
This is fabulous! I was given soooooo much stuffing and have been wondering what to do with it. Now I see blankets, seat pads, wall hangings, rugs even! Thank you so much!
All such great ideas!
Love the dog helping!!! My dogs help too. I have never seen this before, and I cannot wait to make one!! Thank you so much!!
Hi. This is such a beautiful technique for a blanket. This is going into my to_do crochet list😉 Thanks for sharing with us.
Absolutely LOVE this, you're amazing! going to try making my fur babies a bed, I'm so excited to finish one! thank you SO much for sharing your creativity!
Beautiful! Your way is much better than what I would have done. I'll get started right away. Thank You!
This is super cute! Thank you for being clear & patient & detailed . Love this!!
I’ve been working on this since June making an absolutely massive blanket for my future mother in law for christmas It does work slower than blankets I’ve made in the past but I’m definitely pushing my limits with this size
🤯 wow! Hows it going so far? What kind of yarn n colors? How massive are you making it?
This is really beautiful thank you for sharing and explaining so well I will definitely be try this ☘️☘️
Thank you! I have soooo many unfinished projects so I cannot wait to start. Also a compliment: you have such beautiful hands!
So many ideas!!! I can see this as either a scrappy blanket or a temp or mood blanket!, also, if you don't want or need the extra weight or squish the squares alone would make a pretty warm blanket since they are double layered! Thank you for such a fun project!!!
So true!!
I love this! Was thinking it would make a great temperture blanket too (might do it for next years )
this would be such a fun variation to a temperature blanket or a mood blanket omg now im tempted to make one for next year or next month haha
Yes, I had that same thought! I think I’m planning to use it as a temp blanket for next year!
@@sass.and.stitch blankets are the best excuse to get *more yarn* ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
