I’m so excited to make this stitch! I’m a big fan of fabric yoyos and have made more than I care to admit for scrap quilts etc. now I can use my scrap yarn to make these great yarn yoyos. Thank you very much!!
I absolutely love what you're doing. I live in a nursing home and to keep myself busy I crochet as much as I can and that gives me a project that's going to keep me busy for quite some time. I'm going to be leaving the nursing home and back on my own very soon and I'm going to make one to go on top of my bed as a bedspread, that is going to look great with multicolored blues. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hi I have just found your tutorial and it is just what I am looking for can I ask how many balls do you think I would need to make a blanket for a double bed . I will use the yarn that you used in the video . Many thanks xx
The yarn I used in the video would be VERY expensive for a blanket - it is a chunky yarn so not much yardage per ball! The colourway I used does come in a finer weight (dk) but you would still need a fair few balls as these puffs are definitely yarn eaters x
I feel like this would make a lovely, soft bath mat--nice and squishy for your feet on a cold morning. Thank you for the wonderful tutorials and the inspiration!!
I love the way you're recording this and holding your hands and yarn so you're not covering or twisting things too much. Makes it really easy to follow! The tempo is nice and instructions clear, thank you so much
I can see a tree skirt made with these using a red/white yarn. They'd look like peppermint swirl candies, maybe with a fleece backing so you don't see the tree stand?
Evidently, you are the only crocheted ian capable of learning from. I honestly love your videos. They are the clearest, easiest, most relaxing crochet tutorials I have found. Thank you so very much 💕
I have wanted to make a blanket for my bed out of yoyos for years. This is the method for me! This is the first time I have found a pattern that is easy enough to make the hundreds I'll likely need, and is beautiful enough for me to actually complete the project. Thank you so much!
here's some fun mathematical advice: you would attach them every three stitches if you were assembling them in the offset way (which is very similar to a hexagonal pattern.) if you assemble them in the in-line way (which is pretty much pretending the circles are squares) you should do every four stitches. the hexagonal/offset way has less empty space, but that also means that the square/in-line way can make a bigger project with the same amount of yoyo puffs. the point about the six-point attachment being more stable is very true! -
I think these would look super attached to a granny square and arranged in a pattern such as a Xmas tree for Xmas in Xmas colours, or a flower, or a heart or something.
I was travelling from Scotland to the US and then flying around the US. My suitcases are very nondescript as hubby often travels for work. I made a single puff flower and added a long chain and stitching it together to make a loop. I used it to attach to my suitcase handle, which made for a great easy ID on it. It worked so well that I have had friends ask me to make some doe them. Thanks so much!!
Yoyo puffs would make a great 70s style cushion cover. Id also love to do join as you go like a granny square with them but I wonder if its even possible!! Oh!! And if done suuuper chunky with a big hook...POT HOLDERS
You could join them as you go definitely! You could pop a slip stitch in the first round - so double treble, slip stitch to made yoyo, double treble etc I did try that initially but I was too lazy to do the maths as to how many stitches you'd need depending on how you were laying them out 🤣🤣🤣
I’ll make a bag for a handmade book with the theme of bees. I’ll sew the macaroons together so they look hexagonal like honeycomb. I also am about to make one as a big button (filling it with a disc punched out of milk carton for stiffness) and use to close an different crocheted pouch for a handmade journal.🦌💌❤️🧶
Would be nice for throw pillows too I guess. I would use it for blankets. I think it would be too thick for clothig. Thank you for sharing, I am definitely saving this one.
love these little cuties! hahaha.. yes, "a big fat blanket" of course! and I think these would even make a really fun bathmat, with chunky cotton yarn. so fun! thank you for sharing this pattern with us! ♡
Out of curiosity, why did you use the chain circle instead of a magic circle? I just usually see you use magic circles so I wondered if there was a reason you chose not to this time... this pattern is really cute!
Hi there Miss Robin!! I absolutely ADORE your channel!! I'm always watching your videos. I have been playing with these cute little yo-yo puffs. Here's what I decided to do with these lil cuties...........Oh I'm not able to post a pic??.....OK, well I put cute little squiggly eyes on them. And the front hole looks just like a mouth...like the worry worms! SO cute these guys!!!!
@@HookedbyRobin Yes ma'am I sure will place this to your page!! I'm using them like the painted rocks.😊 I also made roses and the little Worry Worms for the same reason lol.
How adorable! I have a lot of cotton leftover scraps from different projects in all colors. For a 3 mm hook. For a blanket I would need millions of them, so I’m gonna make yo-yo chains with beads in between and use them as a summer curtain for my balcony door. BTW, your accent is so beautiful! I could listen for hours. Where is it from? Greetings from Germany
:o they're so cool! I'll have to show this to my friend, she wants a lap blanket kinda deal for her mom... she may like this idea. but how to judge how much yarn to get xD
I hope to make a blanket with 12 ply yarn. It will be big puffs and work up quickly! Love your tutorials and the outcomes. I reference your YTs in my crochet classes.
