  • Costume Voice Changer to use in your helmet, mask, or under your armor.
    Cheap and easy cosplay Voice Changer. Integrate this with your microphone and voice amplifier to get a genuine Darth Vader voice, reminiscent of Star Wars.
    =====
    - i9 Voice Changer is an inexpensive option with a lot of uses at around $25.
    - I recommend a using this with a Moukey Va-1 because they are small when gutted and fit into helmets easily.

    MY REVIEWS & INSIGHTS:
    - This voice changer works fairly well. And should be a core go-to for inexpensive voice changing capabilities for costume integration, gaming, etc.
    - They designed it to integrate with various devices, including your phone, Xbox, PlayStation etc.
    - It’s Far superior to the Halloween store voice changers. Any of those I’ve tried had limited features, and were mostly indecipherable.

    HOW TO CONNECT DEVICES:
    - TO OUTPUT TO AN AMPLIFIER/SPEAKER: A dedicated Mic goes in the "mic" port on top & an amplified speaker goes into “headset” port on bottom. For the speaker you must use a TRRS cable - those are the types if cables that came with the i9 (3 plastic separators & 4 metal sections on the 3.5 mm tip).
    - TO OUTPUT TO A PHONE OR GAME SYSTEM:
    - FOR A 3.5MM HEADSET (headphones + mic combo) - plug into the “Headset” port on bottom; & plug your Phone, game console, or other 2 way devices into “Live1” or “Live2” ports on top using the i9 provided TRRS 3.5mm cable. (Note if your headset has 2 separate plugs for mic & headphones, connect it to a splitter/combiner designed for combining the 2 - it has 2 female 3.5 connectors and merge to a single TRRS male pin. Then put that pin into the headset jack.)
    - FOR A USB HEADSET - use a USB to 3.5mm converter - if your converter splits into mic and headphones then you’ll also need a male mic and male headphones to a single TRRS 3.mm male converter cable.
    - note for iPhones/iPads - you’ll need an iPhone to 3.5mm female converter to connect to your 3.5mm TRRS line that goes into the “Live” port.

    if your voice is more feminine, how would you recommend having the settings? I tried the same setup and I cant manage to get the voice to sound quite right. it sounds too high.

    It’s cool, but a guitar peddle such as a Zoom Multistomp will do you much more justice. I have some videos I’ve upload over the time. You’ll find it sounding a bit more like Vader.
    Then there’s also the annunciation of James Earl Jones us Vaders work/practice doing. That’ll definitely add the Vader voice to sound authentic.

      CanadianVader - what's up man. I've seen some of your stuff - good content my friend.
      1. Zoom Multistomp - yea, for sure. I've got a multistomp myself - although in testing out different devices I'm always on the lookout for alternatives - especially for the folks that can't / won't shell out for a multistomp.
      2. James Earl Jones voice - yea, there's no device that will make anyone talk like him...only good imitation of his style. true.
      I'm fortunate that I can pull him off with an amp alone, although it does miss out on some effects, but most folks don't notice. Despite having a multistomp, I'm turned off by the logistics of carrying it, wiring, etc. so my personal preference is for something fully contained in the helmet - so my go to is actually one of my black series with with built-in mic/amp setups. (e.g.ruclips.net/user/shorts2RWP1sToiG0).
      Perhaps my EFX build out will finally incorporate my multistomp in the mix. TBD.
      Cheers.

    Can you tell us how to sound like general grievous from rots

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  3 месяца назад +1

      I’d use either tthe DSP 99 ruclips.net/video/CEZ4J55W1zI/видео.htmlsi=l1uEUqkhV8Woa5h2
      or something like a Zoom Multistomp.
      1. Pitch Shifter: General Grievous’ voice has a slightly lower pitch with a mechanical tone. Use the pitch shifter to lower your voice by a few semitones. Start with about -2 to -3 semitones as a baseline and adjust to taste.
      2. Distortion or Bitcrusher: To achieve the raspy, gritty texture of Grievous’ voice, apply a bit of distortion or a bitcrusher effect. This will help mimic the metallic and mechanical characteristics.
      3. Delay: A short delay will add depth and a robotic echo to the voice, similar to Grievous’ multi-tonal and reverberating speech. Set the delay time to around 80-150 ms with a low feedback setting.
      4. Reverb: A small amount of reverb will expand the voice’s spatial qualities without making it sound too distant. Opt for a small room setting with a short decay.
      5. EQ Settings: Boost the lower mids to enhance the raspy quality while slightly cutting the highs and boosting the lows a little to round out the voice.

    Would it be possible to do Kylo Ren from TFA with this voice changer?

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  5 месяцев назад

      Sure. There are a variety of LOW voice options to choose from. Use Female to Male to make your voice anywhere from slightly deeper to Uber-gravelly deep. Alternatively Cartoon and Robot are also uniquely deep with a tinge of uniqueness. Between all those options one should be what you need to become Kylo Ren.

      It’s important you use the i9 cables (they’re TRRS) and connect them as I write in the description. If you connect them differently, you’ll likely hear nothing come from your speakers.

    Did you use any specific way to connect it to your speaker? Mine isn’t connecting right for some reason

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  7 месяцев назад +2

      +Triz First ensure you have an amplified speaker ( a personal amp or even a portable Bluetooth speaker that has a 3.5mm input work fine), Next - for hookup - I plugged the mic into MIC port, then my audio output to my speaker came out of the HEADSET port.

    How long does the i-9 stay charged with a full charge

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  3 месяца назад +1

      Several hours. I’ve not used it more than a couple hours at a time and hardly ever have to charge it. My understanding is it’s full time is around five hours give or take depending on usage.

      Info is in the description but here I is:
      HOW TO CONNECT DEVICES:
      - TO OUTPUT TO AN AMPLIFIER/SPEAKER: A dedicated Mic goes in the "mic" port on top & an amplified speaker goes into “headset” port on bottom. Can this work for a wrench mask?

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  2 месяца назад +1

      i9 could work - but is not the best option for Wrench. Using "DJ" or something with mild reverb can be similar. (Note: Robot sounds nothing like a robot, unless you consider Cybermen from Dr Who - which is very deep and nothing like Wrench. )- Here's the full i9 video of all its sounds: ruclips.net/video/BN7Dydsqry4/видео.html.
      Maybe "Phonograph" on the K9 Voice Changer could work - ruclips.net/video/fq0E49NYM2s/видео.html
      --->>> Best Option - would be the DSP 99 board - it can definitely work - although it's a bit more complex to setup - ruclips.net/video/CEZ4J55W1zI/видео.html

    Do you have to buy a mic and speaker output separately?

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  8 месяцев назад +2

      You need both a mic and an external amp with speaker to use the i9 voice changer. Here is what I integrate it with - a personal amp that I gut and integrate into a helmet: ruclips.net/video/0fAGJK9jco4/видео.html -- that one is a small and fit well in helmets. Check amazon and walmart.com to see if you can find it there, if not I just bought a bulk load of them I may be selling soon.
