  • Sharing a personal amplifier with the smallest inner circuit-board so I could remove it’s parts, and easily integrate them WITHIN a helmet or mask of a costume, to provide a microphone and amplifier capability.
    My intent is to have OEM like functionality and look - fully embedding in a helmet with a realistic look (in lieu of carrying something on my belt).
    The personal amp brand in this video is Dominox Band model v-307 - was $17.99 on Amazon. amzn.to/3T16dfj although they’ve been sold out for a while.

      For this device it would be a little harder, but theoretically yes. You'd have to solder off the power button, then solder on wires that run to a remote button. Good question.
      I'd not worried about it personally though because these batteries can last a long time. I don't remember how long this one goes, but if you're doing things longer than a half-day, a remote power button could well ensure you're stuff doesn't die out.
      Alternatively, if you're hesitant to deal with soldering - you could just find a pack of inexpensive LiPo batteries to have onhand if they did -> this is my go to for spares e.g. amzn.to/3O1pf39 - or just get a larger battery for it e.g. amzn.to/3Q3A0EA

      I imagine if somebody knew programming, they could force the static to frontload before passing the audio. I imagine an Arduino or raspberry pie probably could do something like that though I’m not knowledgeable enough on them to do it myself. But Yep it would be a great idea.

    Any recommendations if you want to use a Bluetooth speaker on your belt and a wireless mic in the helmet?

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  Год назад +1

      If you'd prefer the speaker on your belt, you'll get superior sound that way, because you won't have to worry about feedback as we do when we put the speaker in the helmet.
      I've not done a bluetooth mic to bluetooth speaker, however I have tried out the bluetooth mic/receiver packages, where the BT receiver plugged into my remote speaker 3.5mm input. That went well - easy sync between the devices and good output.
      BT Package I used: amzn.to/3KziEev
      FYI: 2 problems I encountered using the bluetooth package - (If you have a BT mic that syncs directly with a speaker you will not have these problems):
      1. I had to add a TRRS to TRS converter to my 3.5mm jack on my BT receiver to get audible input.
      -- My BT receiver had TRRS plug meaning it had 3 black stripes on the tip separating it into 4 sections. It seems my system would not accept TRRS, so I needed a TRS input (tip with 2 black stripes - 3 metal sections). Fortunately the BT package came with the TRRS to TRS converter and adding it allowed the signal to pass through and get audible output. (Link explaining and showing the difference between TS/TRS/TRRS: components101.com/connectors/35mm-audio-jack#:~:text=Types%20of%203.5mm%20Jack%201%201.%20TS%20Type,...%203%203.%20TRRS%20Type%20Male%20Audio%20jack )
      2. If using a Zoom MultiStomp (or similar sound effects pass-through device): I had issues with the BT Receiver signal and my Zoom MultiStomp. This device powers on ONLY when it senses an audio input. I plug in the BT receiver = good throughput; low talking = good; loud talking or blowing on my mic immediately resulted in the Zoom device powering off then back on. This also happened with a direct cabled mic with inline amp. However it did not happen with my pricey wireless lavalier system I got at Best Buy. So I'm assuming those less expensive wired and BT receiver did not have enough power to keep the Zoom device thinking there was still an input.

      There's a Shidu I just popped open - it has a 2" x 3 1/8" x 7/8" circuit board in it because it has an LED and radio - amzn.to/3YwWWwA
      Alternatively, I just did a quick glance for a simple PA with no LED or radio - Perhaps something like this might work better amzn.to/3lbABqC - it looks small with all controls toward the top. I've not tried it myself though.
      Whatever you choose - ENSURE you look for a model with all the controls as close to the top as possible with no LED or radio. Then it's a higher probability the circuit board is just a small one at the top.
      Many side controls = Big Board --> While my Tacstar was a simple amp - it had a lot of side controls which is why it had a huge board - like 3 1/2 x 4" or something like that - so focus on the ensuring all the inputs buttons and knobs are close to the top.

      From my experience with mics - most available would not be sensitive enough. If I was trying to hear people outside my helmet better, my first though is to get some inexpensive, well reviewed hearing aids online and dissect one - remoting the mic outside the mask (somehow) and either have the device in my ear or attached to the inside of the helmet and wire as small speaker in place of its built-in speaker. Although since those are so small, it could be possible all of that stuff is micro size with micro soldering points that I might not be able to work with without messing up the mini circuit board.
      That's where I'd start, but I thought I came across at least one other person talking online about a setup to hear better in his helmet - but I can't imagine where I encountered it. Worst case scenario you could contract someone to build it. Likely pricey but improving quality of life is normally worth it. I think the guy who sells the Trooper Amps takes on custom work and may well have built or encountered something that achieves your need. I think he does all his work through facebook facebook.com/trooperamp/

      Maybe get a setup that uses a Lavalier Mic (Lav Mic). You see these used on TV interviews, clipped to a shirt. They're designed to pick up in a bubble around them so with a good amp inbetween the mic and your ear buds I bet it would work. You'd just have to hide the mic on the outside of your costume in a discreet place. If you want to get really trickey, two Lav Mics, on on each side of your helmet piped into the ear buds for true stereo, ha.

    What I'm trying to do is create a voice-changer for a dragon costume. Unfortunately the changers I find on Amazon are just robots, weird-o, or some derivations. I did find one that I liked, a Disney Pixar Zerg mask, I took it apart, now I'm trying to figure out how to get it to work the right way. Just as you showed, you pretty much have to have the microphone dead-center in the mouth, which is not ideal. Even if it were to the side, eh, probably not a good look. There are other issues as well, I'm trying to figure out. Essentially my face is uncovered, so there isn't a helmet involved. Any suggestions? I really could use the help, thanks.

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  5 месяцев назад

      I’d have to see what to costume looks like around the head for my best assessments. Pending that, you could have the mic at the tip of your chin and point the mic toward your mouth. As part of the costume your dragon could have an exaggerated chin, allowing you to hide the mic better and give it more direction toward your mouth. Then just have the neck of the mic and wiring run under your chin and up or down your neck depending on where you’re stashing the voice changer.

    • @gschneyer
      @gschneyer 5 месяцев назад

      @@creative-stuff Well the Zerg microphone doesn't pick up much at all unless it is directly in front of the mouth, I tried on the side, etc. I practically have to eat the thing. Do you recommend a replacement, probably would have to unsolder/solder and all that? The other problem is that all the various pieces, though connected when they're in the helmet, are a bit unmanageable now that they're loose. Lastly, when the system is turned on there's a start-up little phrase that I'm guessing in the context of the movie makes sense, not so much when you're walking around trying to sound like a dragon. I guess I would have to use a toggle switch between the board and the speaker that would be off, then another switch to turn the system on, thus when that start-up message goes it doesn't sound-off. Maybe just a push-down switch for it, press when I'm talking like a walkie-talkie type of style.
      Anyway, the hood is essentially a balaclava with a scale print that I pull over, with a slit in the back. I'm first having a set of horns, the hood pulls over, and the horns goes through the slit, pointing rear-ward. Real basic.

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  4 месяца назад

      Okay so the balaclava covers your whole face including your mouth? If so, that’s handy.
      Replacing the mic itself “might”help - it’s just hard to know if it’s the sensitivity of the mic itself that’s a problem or if it’s a software thing that expects a certain volume level or else it cancels the signal. but short of any other options if you’re comfortable soldering, I suppose it’s worth a try. I’m always happy with the mics that come with personal amplifiers - as much as it would suck to cut one up, I’m thinking that if it’s going to work with a different mic, this would be one it would work with. But it’s hard to say when you don’t know how the whole Electronics package was built to begin with. Definitely not the definitive answer you might’ve hoped for, but hopefully it helps somehow. Good luck.

Even if you need to make the wires longer - you could just get a same or thicker guage wire and add it in the middle - twisting the ends together and electrical taping. Voice Changing is NOT a part of the voice amp but here are 2 good options:
      A cheap easy voice changer to addon to an existing voice amp: ruclips.net/video/BN7Dydsqry4/видео.htmlsi=-4BzmKXJ9z_ZWZLh
      But Alternatively you may instead want to get a used Hasbro Darth Vader Voice Changing helmet from the early 2000’s second hand - that voice changer Only does what you need - it has 3 options for making your voice deeper and the lowest sounded demonic.
      The bonus is that it also has the mic, amp and speaker so it could be an all in one solution for what you need. - the board wasn’t too large from what I remember

      @@creative-stuff thank you so much for reply...and for the options you give me. Its not easy to find that device. I wanted to offer to my nephew. He love that stuff. You know the game gotham knights? He like the voice of the mask of the Court of Owls. Thats the kind of voice he would like to have in is mask! Deep and intimidating...

    How can you make a real time doubled audio effect using one of these?

    • @creative-stuff
      @creative-stuff  Год назад +1

      Not sure if I understand the question.
      - If you’re looking for double audio in the sense of playing a sound clip or song from the SD card while you’re also speaking over it, that’s doable as it happens by default.
      - If you’re referring to an echo, reverb or chorus effect, you’d need some kind of additional reverb device to create those effects. There are some amps, that come with an Echo capability (most of them don’t do well at reverb as they are more echo), but buying one with the Echo capability built-in, is much easier than adding it on via an extra product.
      Did one of those answer the question?

      @@creative-stuff yeah I was kind of wondering if it's easy to make a sort of flanger effect that sounds kind of electric

      @@sublimebeyondloss6887 check out this vid i did on a 100 voice effect device - flange options are 66-69 (right after chorus 60-65). They sounded a pinch like someone was talking through a straw, but either way there are a large variety of options on there if that doesn't sound right for ya. The thing was like $20, although you'll need a pre-amp on your mic-in.
      Here's a shortcut jumping straight to #60 Chorus, followed by Flange... ruclips.net/video/CEZ4J55W1zI/видео.html

      Check out this DSP99 it might do what you need. Otherwise something like a Zoom Multistomp could work too… it’s just a bit bulky and more pricy… but more versatile

      Easy Peezy, my friend. Just split your audio output lines into two and you can have dual speakers.
      Granted, it will not be in stereo - but you can get that additional volume that two speakers have to provide.
