The i9 should have come with 2 TRRS cables… not sure why it won’t work for ya.

To my understanding it’s the same helmet as in the full costume. It certainly wouldn’t be cost effective for Jazwares to create two different versions. Though I don’t own the full suit so I cannot be sure.

They definitely put forth some quality work in that mask. I see Game Stop is still selling the Darth Revan helmet here. Good price at $80usd. The Revan character deserves his own show. He’s one of my favorites - I just wish TOR designers would’ve designed his character with a more open face - as his mask is among the lowest visibility yet.

It works only for pushing background audio like music thru it UNCHANGED. It will not incorporate voice change. (No cables required)

I have seen some with BT (like the i9) but it only uses it passively by passing it through as unchanged background audio (it does not voice change it). I’m guessing you’re looking for BT as a voice input? If so I’d recommend just getting a BT headset and connect it to your favorite voice changer.

Unfortunately the Moukey is now extinct- but you can instead use a Norwii Mini (S368) or Shidu S617 your amp. You can use the M10 with those. Although if you have not yet bought your voice changer first take a look at the MC-093. It only does reverb and pitch, however, it allows you to use both at the same time, while the M10 and most other budget voice changers only allow one function to operate at a time.

in reality it depends on your desired use case and preferred style (e.g. ANH, ESB…), but here’s my general recommendations: 1. PROFESSIONAL / CUSTOM SIZED / SCREEN ACCURATE (More challenging acquisition): If unlimited budget and esp. if you’re considering joining the 501st (professional) Star Wars costuming club - I’d get a custom made screen accurate helmet already approved by a 501st Garrison with all the electronics already integrated (fans, mic, amp, etc). However this is easier said than done. You’ll likely only find completed ones by getting one direct from a person who built it for himself, which is a low likelihood. Consult the Sith Lord Forum to see if anyone is selling - but More likely you’d have to get it custom made & the forum can give guidance on vendors and how to get a helmet approved. Most of those vendors can make you a helmet custom scaled to fit you (rather than the 6’6” David Prowse). So not only do you get the most realistic helmet but also one that is sized to look right for your body. (E.g. If you’re a foot shorter than the actor, even the most accurate helmet will not only look wonky if it’s too big, but worse the neck length may limit your mobility and safety as you may not be able to safely see out the eyes or move your head around.) 2. EASIER TO ACQUIRE / SCREEN ACCURATE A.N.H. CAST: my generic recommendation if you have the money and you’re unsure which one you want - get the EFX precision cast replica for 350 bucks. These are highly sought after and you’d have no problem reselling it probably for more if you lose interest. Personally I like this look the best, but you’ll need to custom pad the inside to fit your needs, and add your own amp, & fans. Keep an eye out on Sideshow.com for stock info (it’s more informative than EFX’s own site)- they allow preorder when EFX has new batches pending. For amp installs, these have lots of room to embed one inside! 3. EASY ACQUIRE / VERSATILE / DECORATED INSIDE & OUT - NON- SCREEN ACCURATE (but I find to be the most fun!): Casual/Versatile, but not screen accurate: the Black Series masks are great for events - cool looking inside and out and allow you to take off the top and remain in character with the detailed bottom half of the mask like in ROTJ. - If you’re under 6 foot the 2018 black series is the most comfortable given it shorter neck to allow you movability of head and actually an ability to actually look down. For amp install these are much tighter on space you’ll need a small form factor one and have to be creative when fitting it in. Check out my videos for that. 4. EASY ACQUIRE / E.S.B. STYLE / FITS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX (Looks accurate, but might not be) If you like the ESB high gloss style and want something will fit right out of the box - get the Jazwares Vader!

@@creative-stuff I saw that EFX released a new run of Vader helmets a few weeks ago and sold out pretty quick, which I guess is normal. I have one of the new Black Series helmets but with all the internals it's too small for my head. At 6'4" and hefty I find the hardest costuming things to find are the jumpsuits though.

Ahh, bummer on the Black Series. So we’re in interesting times as after years of EFX helmets being only available second hand at prices double or more- I got lucky and got in on their release last year. Then surprisingly they ran that other one just recently. Fingers crossed they’ll do it again. Have you hit up some of the Etsy vendors for custom sized Vader suits? They’re more pricey but may be worth it. I’ve also encountered some cheaper Chinese costume company options that also have custom sizing, but I’ve not tried them personally.

I don’t see why not, as it’s taking in analog signals - so you’d just need to merge your left and right channels into one as this device only takes in mono for audio input, but does have stereo for audio output.

Actually the Moukeys are No longer in production - however they are actually just rebranded CALLVI V307s, which can be acquired from China’s TaoBao website. Regardless, I’d instead recommend this Norwii as it’s cheaper and has a battery that fits better in costumes: amzn.to/4hYM6KP

I don’t know if I mentioned it or not but the one i demoed works without Push to talk; while it does have a button- If I recall correctly it’s a push to silence- where it silenced your audio when pressed. So it was pretty easy to work with from that standpoint. Although the audio could still stand to be improved. Possibly. In theory it “should” as the i9 provides analog audio output, however I cannot be sure as I have never used the device you speak of.

I’d need to know how all it’s hooked up. My assumption is if you’ve got an echo that you might be feeding your audio into your gaming system that while the output audio is coming out of your TV or home theater system rather than your headset - which would make sense as your mic would pic it up and repeat it. However if you are getting your audio only via your headsets headphones it would be tougher. I’d then check the software audio setup options for an instigator. Alternatively it could be a battle-buddy your teamed with that uses TV audio and doesn’t have a noise canceling mic…

The voice changer is pretty decent for it's original price point the helmet is just a bit small looking. I've recently put the black series helmet over top of the voice changer mask and noticed it looks really good. It would just need a mod of a good neodymium magnet on top of the voice changer mask. Aside from that if interested I have a video coming out soon about the new Jazwares Vader mask comparing it to EFX, Rubies Supremes, both Black Series and Hasbro Voice Changer Helmet.

So I soldered it to the exciter and reinforced it with hot glue to keep the wires from breaking off while testing, installing and just from longer term wear. If you don't know how to solder, you could choose to instead twist your wire ends then feed them through the holes where they would normally be soldered and just keep wrapping them through the holes a few times and then twist the remaining wire to itself and put hot glue on it

Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated. I cannot speak to which to recommend - as I haven't bought a few dozen to test as I have voice changers. I only have that one and that video was after my first couple days using it. I generally use regular mics but my Halloween outfit lacked a mask so I used the throat mic. I quickly discovered that mic placement and connectivity to your troat makes a huge difference in quality between sounding ok and being indecipherable. Perhaps I'll look into more throat mics in the future. The one I had was tolerable but hopefully there are higher quality options out there... Or Perhaps im just too used to the clearer quality of normal mics If you try any out I'd be happy to hear your feedback

Ensure padding between your helmet and mic head and neck. If the upper neck or head of your mic is hard mounted to the helmet it’s getting the feedback direct from the helmet vibration not the direction of the exciter or speaker. Inside a helmet it will always be prone to feedback due to the close proximity but you should be able to get by with a volume level that’s sufficient without squealing if you mitigate the squeal-risks. Put some soft foam behind your mic/mic-neck. I’ve also found that in my Mando helmet, it worked to pad the neck and point my mic away from me toward the glass that goes down the middle of the face, putting the mics own windscreen foam against the glass. This both padded it from vibrations and pointed in a different direction than the actual speaker.

Hmm, not sure. Unfortunately there have been a history of 2 different variations of wiring TRRS plugs ; one where the mic is on the sleeve and the ground on the 2nd ring, and the older version swaps the two. That 'might' be the issue, but without knowing the wiring - i cannot say for sure. Given this, I've personally picked up some 3.5mm converters that will swap those 2 signals. This one is a mono out. Since it doesn’t have an audio in you’d have to output this into one side of a splitter/combiner then your music into the other side to give you a single signal output to an amplifier. If you do that I’d recommend connecting your positive output from the board to both the Tip and Ring, and ground to the sleeve of the Tip/Ring/Sleeve male connector - that will put your output on both channels for the stereo output. - 2 female to 1 male TRS 3.5mm - amzn.to/3UyTVgf - TRS stereo prewired connector for audio out: amzn.to/40w1mbJ Alternatively here’s another type of board that both already has stereo capabilities as well as a built in preamp (unlike this board). Glad it helped! To output to 2 speakers connected to your armor: you should output from the i9 to an amplifier then split out your signal to the two speakers. @marc-andretheriault8908 the preamp only gets your mic volume high enough to be processed by the i9's electronics but you'll still need an amplifier after the i9 so it can be high enough to be processed by a speaker.
