Your powers are STRONG old man!
Thanks!
That's some creative shit, boss. Really, really top knotch.
what's this from
this is a fun build! thank you
And i ordered the parts, hoping it will arrive while we are still in quarantine. Cheers for sharing this!
Awesome! Are you using it for Darth Vader or another costume?
RickMelges : i plan to incorporate it with the 3d printed face mask that i will be creating so that i dont have to modulate my voice when talking to people even with mask on
Very Cool!!
This is amazing
Thanks!
This is so impressive! Do you just need the two items you linked in the description or do I need to get a special cable too? Fantastic work!!
I found that the Urban beats Speaker I was using did not have enough amplification to speak over my voice, thats why I used the Head phone amplifier between the phone and the speaker. The amplification made the Star wars Imperial theme really boom as you march down the hallways and byways! hehehe
why do you have darth maul's eyeball as your pfp
Excellent Job!!
I've been look around for a while trying to find a Vader voice solution. I found a build your on solution so order parts then seconds later and find your solution. Your solution is FAR FAR above the build your own solution I found so canceled my order. Thanks for sharing your solution that was something cheaper and better.
However I do have one question that is unclear. What did you do with that huge button? Did you cut it out of the circuit?
I opened it up. There was too much electronics in there to mess with. In other words, it did not make sense for the incoming wires to be connected to the out going wires. What I did was put an 11inch zip tie on it and made it a behind the back belt attachment. That way I could either turn it on all the time or have it off.
thats creative
Thanks!
That’s sick 🔥🔥😂😂
Thanks!
I love your costume
Thanks!
Video is great
Thanks!
Genius! It also solves the issue of nearby people hearing your regular voice in addition to the speakers.
Indeed it does, very good at doing that, it even picks up whispers. but Darth never whispered!
I really love how you did this. I would like to set something up like how are you have it, but for a devil voice. I have muscular dystrophy so I figured this set up would be the best for someone with no arm use. I would love to talk to you more about how to set it up and how to do the voice changer please get back to me
I use the app on my phone called RoboVox. It has some free basic voices. But it has the “SHIVER” or “GEIST” voices which might be the style you are looking for. But you might have to pay for the full app to get them.
Hey love the set up where did you get the voice changing software or how does that work, is it pictured in your diagram?
The software on the smartphone is called Robovox. And I am using the headphone mic portion. It is for both iOS and Android.
www.mikrosonic.com/robovox
Epic
Thanks!
I ordered the mic. Just need a bit more info on the cord. And the materials I need to make it. Thank you
How did it work out?
I wish someone would sing with one of these on.
Lol. Might be kinda muffled. I know you can whisper with them.
@@RickMelges That is still really cool. Imagine telling your kids a bed time story with the whispered Vader voice lol.
cool
Yeah!
Nice work! I'm gonna try it on my costume this year. Was the wiring of the cable you made difficult? I need to know what you used and how you wired that up...thanks!
I will get that wiring diagram up soon.
Ok , after checking on my setup several times it turns out that I did not need to make special cable. that a smartphone cable splitter works just as well. so here is my setup. www.dropbox.com/s/j0eo2i6vxto2zod/Throat%20mic%20set%20up.jpg?dl=0
@@RickMelges How does it connect to the phone that you're using the Robovox app on?
@@darthcaul9447 I'm using an iPhone 6 that has a 3.5mm jack on it that accepts a 4 pole connector like you see in the image I gave.
@@darthcaul9447 I will test tonight to see if the lightning adapter will work on the newer phones. Like I have an iPhone X.
Awesome. Where would u get the neck mic?
Thanks! I ordered from Amazon. here is the link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PEJPPWK/
Thx
Was hoping for electrocutioner. By palpatine of course not the electric choker of course
Hmm?
May I ask, where you got your electronic chest box (life support box) from?
Hey Tian, I 3D Printed it out from my remake on Thingiverse.com. Here it is www.thingiverse.com/thing:3207444 Also I go over how I placed the electronics in my Geeking out with my Darth Vader costume video here about 11 minutes into it. ruclips.net/video/GRjtfUHxitk/видео.html
How did you make your own cable? Or did you just plug the microphone part of the splitter into the larger prong on the throat mic?
It turned out that I did not have to make my own cable. That a tip, ring, ring, sleeve to microphone splitter did the job.
But if you have a cable for a smartphone that does the same split that is all you need.
May I ask what blue tooth speaker you used? The one the sound eventually comes out of?
I can’t find the Bluetooth speaker that I used on amazon. That’s why I used an Anker speaker in my image. That was the closest to what I used with an Aux 3.5mm connection.
What I want to do is take the speaker apart and Mount it inside the mouth piece of the helmet and put the battery and electronics in there too. But I will see this year if I can do that. One of the nice things about this size of speaker is that it has some good deep resonance. I think that if I take it apart I might lose that.
Is there a way to make the output setup work wirelessly with a Bluetooth speaker, or does the audio output have to be wired?
Well if you can find a wireless throat mic. I have not found one. Would be happy if you did find one.
Can you just get a throat mic and connect that to your phone and then put the other wire to the speaker
The throat mic has no amplifier on it. The throat mic is design to go into a a radio transmitter and then the signal is transferred over the air without being amplified and then received and amplified to the ear of the other device. I am using an iPhone and the connections are 4 channels(Left, right, mic and ground).
I am trying to do a costume but it has no mask it just has a hood do you have any suggestion to have a voice changer but no can see it
Hmm, and your neck is visible? Dunno. I was using a turtleneck to hide the throat mic apparatus. Can you utilize a turtleneck shirt?
Also can I just use a voice changer and plug a throat mic into it and be done
Question, can you yourself hear your own voice and is their a slight delay
There is no delay that I can hear. Your voice is heard as you normally speak with the background of the amplified voice.
Where did you buy your Darth Vader suite
I made my suit. Bought the fabric and 3d printed my armor, chest plate and belt packs
I bought a Kylo ren voice changer and the mic
Nice!
Ok here is the updated for the voice changer! ruclips.net/video/mytEuQ9sxr0/видео.html
Hope this will help you!
I am a women I need to get one of these for my Santa suit to disguise my voice as Santa lol
Awesome!
Can I use that on my Kylo ren voice changer
I’m not sure. Does it have an auxiliary output jack?
Do u anything inproved in the last 4 years
No sorry. Im messing around with Mandalorian gear which is easier to voice than Darth Vader.
Could I use a voice amplifier instead of that speaker and headphone amplifier?
Like which one?
@@RickMelges zoweetek voice amplifier
Well. It looks like the Zoweetek amplifier needs a mic level signal coming in. The smartphone takes the signal from the throat mic and outputs line level. It will be too distorted. Mic level is very low impedance. A line level is about 1000 times stronger than a mic level. Electronics usually need to apply resistance to the signal to bring it down to mic levels.
@@RickMelges thanks which earphone amplifier would you recommend the one you have listed is out of stock. I prefer one maybe a little more on the cheap side but will get the job done
I recently changed the link. To a much cheaper headphone amplifier.
How do I make a voice changer
From scratch? No idea. I’m just using known components and then hooking them all together.
Much to Learn, You Still Have. Just kidding
Hehehe. Thanks!
