What I did for my super professional system, was bought a $20 voice amplifier and hooked it on the belt, and then taped a shower mate Bluetooth speaker to the other side of the belt and played a loop on my phone while connected for the breathing.
Thanks Jake, really appreciate the effort that went into the demo and explanation. Especially for us Vaders running different set-ups like the guitar pedal. Cheers!
Jake, Love your videos. I am assembling my first Vader costume (ROTJ) for the 501st in the Los Angeles area. Have you had any experience with sound gloves, or a do you know of a system that uses James Earl Jones voice? Thank you, Cameron
I have to questions, One where do you get you file for the breathing? Second question is what is your recommendation to replace the rom/fx revo. it seams the only way to get it now is used.
I'm trying your transducer system, but my question is about the Revo. What type of battery pack do you use? I use the the 6AA open rack that came with it. Also, do you find the transducers run the battery down fast? Thanks
Alaska Vader Great! Thanks, I found it. Is there a specific connector to use between the pack and the Revo, or do you need to splice and solder one? Sorry for all the questions, but that audio setup looks GREAT!
a double ended connector comes with the battery pack. I cut it to length and used the connection on the REVO to make my own. Hopefully that makes sense
Alaska Vader I have the system all together, not as hard as I would have thought. When I tried with the stickers on the transducers on a tin plate and an iPhone it was sufficiently loud. When I connected to Revo it was really soft, like almost inaudible. I have loop at 100% and noise gate at 48%. Did I miss a step? How do you get the Revo to produce more volume? The fiberglass armor dampens the sound even more. The battery pack splice was easy and the pack works great. I'm just confused. Thanks!
Hi Jake, i found this video great and have just added some transducers to my armour, can I ask though what settings do you have your Revo on? I know everyone is different so what settings you use won't work for me or many others, but I just want a rough idea as to how loud you have your loop volume, what pitch your voice change and roughly what your noise gate is set too. I have been playing with my setup and if I put it too loud then it gets a lot of distortion but too quiet and then it seems as though you can barely hear it over my normal voice from within my mask, so I know it's a balance but any tips would be great!
Jake, I messaged you on the SLD, but I know you must get a lot of messages. My question is this: what power cord do you use to go from the amplifier to the battery pack you have listed?? If the amplifier is 12v then I'd need some 12v to USB cord. If it's 5v then I'd need just a USB cord, right? I thought I saw that the amplifier is 6-12v working volts, but I'm not exactly sure. What did you use? Thanks!!
OK, I'm gonna come out and say I'm an imbecile when it comes to electronics like this. I'm waiting for the delivery of my ANOVOS Vader costume which should be around the end of the year. Do you have an email address I can have to talk with you about setting up a voice modulator and breathing loop? I know you have a list of equipment in the description above, but I could really use some more assistance (i.e. dumb it down for me). It would be great to hear from you!
Jake have you how to make a metal Darth Vader helmet on a channel called; goldpointprops ? He made the video 11 Sept. 2017. It really came out really awsome but I bet it would be on the heavy side. He didn't show the paint job at least not in that video. His email is in the info under the video if your interrested.
Hello Jake. You are the "Sith Lord" resource expert ......just so you know. :-) So first of all, thanks !!! I haven't been able to log into the 501st yet, I guess my request for membership hasn't gone through or I would have looked on the forums. I feel like some sort of groupie I've contacted you so much. Tons of info. on RUclips though. Took the plunge before Halloween gets here this year and ordered a new fiberglass Vader bucket. CHA_CHING !!! My Rubies just wasn't going to cut it anymore. I hope to be on my way to a 501st quality build by this time next year. I also will be adding the transducer speakers you recommended to my armor this year and have a simple question. I'm fairly comfortable and have a little knowledge with electronics however .... are your speakers connected in series or parallel? Judging by what is shown in the video, I'm guessing you have ..... + to + , - to - , then the + and - to the 3.5mm jack. Is this correct?
they work differently depending on the surface, the material they are mounted to, the density of that material and the size of the surface. Get one and try it out!
Thank you for the vid .Having trouble finding the dayton transducer. Says it unavailable . Is there another alternative that can be used that gets the same results ?
Alaska Vader ok so being some one that can't wait for a company th get some thing in stock . I found some one else . The link is for Canadian customers but on the same site you can switch to US It's the same specs EX 60 S - 8 ohm Visaton | Mouser Canada ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/243-EX60S-8OHM
The ROM/FX REVO kit is no longer being sold (see www.romfx.com/). Any suggestions as to where to find a suitable replacement? Should I go with the pedal?
The zoom pedal is working really well for lots of people. The only other option currently is either pre-recorded responses (facebook.com/MiComSoundRig) which is great I have been playing with it for a few months now. If you want a voice changer in one solution look for the vortex III by Hyperdyne labs. Cheers!
I purchased everything that was recommended, unfortunately the battery pack is NOT compatible with the amplifier! I am no electrical expert, and am unable to provide power to the amp, with the kind of connections the amp and battery pack have which are totally different. I guess I will need to return them and find another way to make the transducers work or maybe smaller speakers with amps built in.

Thanks and glad to help out!
Hey mate have u set up the zoom peddle with the transducers yet? Can u please do a detailed video when u do?
Not yet but I plan to soon
Awesome video! Thanks!
Thanks Cheers
Real beautiful armor
Can you also do a video on how to hook up the fans to a helmet
I'll be posting the fan setup video tomorrow or saturday!
Hi Jake, I just scored a Revo. Can I ask you what settings you use. I know mine may be different but can use a starting point.
Thanks
What hinges did you use on the shoulders?
Thanks for the video Jake.
You bet!
Hello everyone, thank you Jake Sloan for all the links.
I received yesterday my Zoom MS50G, someone knows the setting for the voice of Darth Vader ??
I don't but there is a great thread on it over on the forums at the sith lord detachment
Hi, Ok thanks Jake
Very good !
What's theaudio source of the actual breathing?
Good!!!! Video Thank you so much ~!
Thanks
hello, what cable do you use between the battery and the revo?
Jake, Love your videos. I am assembling my first Vader costume (ROTJ) for the 501st in the Los Angeles area. Have you had any experience with sound gloves, or a do you know of a system that uses James Earl Jones voice? Thank you, Cameron
Yes look up micom sound rig on Facebook. They make a fantastic setup for Vader! Tell them I sent you 😉
Awesome thank you 😀
To quote Monty Python.....you are so wise in the ways of science..lol
I have to questions, One where do you get you file for the breathing? Second question is what is your recommendation to replace the rom/fx revo. it seams the only way to get it now is used.
What pin connector did you use to power the Rom FX Revo from the battery pack? I would like to do the same. Thanks for your time.
Hey it’s bobby can you make a video with the multi stomp
From whom did you purchase your Revo unit? Can you please provide a link? I've only seen a board which comes in heat shrink wrap...
It seems the rom fx is not longer available?
A+ Fantastic !
Hi Jake! Can you please provide a link or information for your preferred Breathing file to place on an iPod? Thanks!
Hmmmm I'll have to look for it. I can't remember off the top of my head...
Ok, no worries! (You probably downloaded it YEARS ago!)! Sorry I missed tonight's live stream!
In this case do you feel a transducer works better than a small speaker? Also, can volumes be adjusted on transducers?
I do feel it works better than a small speaker. The volume is controlled through the amplifier. Cheers
Thanks Jake for the quick response!! I know it's early up in Alaska so I do appreciate the help!!
I'm trying your transducer system, but my question is about the Revo. What type of battery pack do you use? I use the the 6AA open rack that came with it. Also, do you find the transducers run the battery down fast? Thanks
I use the battery pack linked in the description of the video. Lasts a long time much longer than AA batteries. Plus it's rechargeable
Alaska Vader Great! Thanks, I found it. Is there a specific connector to use between the pack and the Revo, or do you need to splice and solder one? Sorry for all the questions, but that audio setup looks GREAT!

How mush does it cost in all?
Hi, wich voice synth for Android do you recommend?

Hi buddy which 3m vhb tape did you use pls as there are a few types
I used the 6lb tape which is lighter grey in color.
Alaska Vader ok so many different types, it might be the one for different materials 4149p maybe ?
+Anthony Nobbs I think it's the 410p. m.lowes.com/pd/Scotch-1-in-x-5-ft-Two-Sided-Tape/50053419 that stuff In the link
How does the volume of the transducer compare to the 3 speaker setup you had previously?
Its good but not as loud. It does sound much more natural though
I see your chest piece is Fiberglass, would it work with my *(cringe)* Rubie's supreme plastic vader chest plate?
Hey Jake, I have a Zoom pedal but am struggling to find a good amp, preferably one with its own power bank. Any suggestions?

Educated myself a bit more on this and found out that it is wise to hook speakers up in parallel as opposed to series.
Wonder how the transducers would work on my proton pack
