I agree I feel like a mix style of saber fighting (such as anakin and obi which is really good cause anakin's offense and obi's defense) are not only fun to practice and improve on but also work well with a saber fighting choreography.
I really love the subtle detail that both Vader and Luke are using Anakin's style, but Vader is using a more dominant and agresive variant while Luke is using a less agresive and more defensive variant

In "the birth of the lightsaber" featurette, those almost same descriptions are used to give context to the sabers in addition to it being seen as quite heavy with the emphasis on how much power is being produced from the weapon. It was also more emotionally driven in the OT, which is why they are trying to hack each other to death (except in Star Wars) in a pretty inelegant manner. I have spoken.

I love how the guys who are doing the choreography even have their body language of the two characters down. This is an incredible piece of work and of course an amazing orchestra.
Mechanical legs? Is that suppose to be a problem? In Star Wars? Really? Have you seen G.Grievous? He's whole body is mechanical. And have you forgot about Anakin's right arm? Judging by the way he moves in EpIII, if I were him - I've changed all my limbs to mechanical right after Geonosis incident. Obi-Wan would be doomed.
The only thing I dont like is that Vader moves too much the saber, and one handed. I prefer to see him using two handed light saber, and seeing vader anger in his attacks

I liked that Darth Vader has a less "gracious" style in the beginning (because of him being part machine and/or because of how seasoned he is in comparison to Luke), he gets more aggressive later in the fight and he just give Luke the back, like saying "I've seen enough". Just awesome.
I really, REALLY like your take on both Vader and Luke's fighting styles. I'm not knowledgeable at sword stuff, but I know media in general has a tendency to make Vader's blows generally slower and fewer in number. I know that lore-wise his suit restricts movements, but I feel like if George could recreate OT fights himself, he'd go for something like this. You can sense that Anakin doesnt have the same agility as before, but he's learned how to conserve energy and deal massive blows to his opponents. A lot of time I see angry, long swings that really leave him open for a counterattack, in order to make him appear more powerful. Best-swordsman-in-the-galaxy Anakin Skywalker, suit or no suit, Force or no Force, wouldnt leave himself open like that. He actually looks deadly here and I love it. It actually made me fear being before the artist doing these moves if it was real. Side note, but I'd love your opinion of that One Lightsaber Fight at the mandalorian finale. Thing is, that felt almost too Rogue-One-ish to me instead of taking advantage to make a unique style. But I dont know stuff so i'd love to hear your thoughts!

Well, you might not be a swordsman but your take is far superior to that of some narrow-minded people. Great job! Well, I liked it but didn't love it. But the Rogue One resemblance didn't ruin it for me to be honest The choreography could have been better as well as the execution. I also hate when characters fight without taking the cape off but I guess it was necessary to make the big reveal even more exciting so no complaints here. As for me, Boba Fett's fight against the stormtroopers was by far the best fight scene of the season (and of the whole series so far).

It makes me laugh how the sequel Trilogy couldn't do a good fight choreograph seen this good and these people are using the most cheapest low budget for themselves but Disney has this high amount of money and they can't even do a good choreograph fight scene in the sequel Trilogy if you pay attention to the praetorian guards vs Rey and kylo they both would have been killed easily if it made sense you have to pay real close attention I give these guys a 9.9 out of 10 they did phenomenon the choreograph and the music I love it

How to convert a great fight scene of a movie into a concert, you guys do a great job, i would like to learn how to fight like that, this is just a great example of what happens of you combine great fighting and and great orchestra.
A little note for future reference, although not stated often nor really explained in the movies, Vader’s shoulder section is in fact a bit heavy. Couple that with the fact half his body was cut, it would be very straining for Vader to lift his arms above his shoulders. But when you really look into the Vader in this choreography, he used his whole body all for an overhead swing. It’s a very nice attention to detail, even if it wasn’t intended.

And apparently the guys who have made SC 38 Reimagined are working on The Empire Strikes Back duel. Thanks to this video, we already have a reimagined version of Return of the Jedi duel. The fighting style of this Dart Vader is very similar to the old movies. The attention to this kind of detail makes all the difference. Very professional, very well presented.
You know, we may not like the recent movies, especially the fighting scenes, but I believe we wouldn't be here without Disney. The hype makes our stuff more popular, the anticipation of the new movies and series makes people binge all the Star Wars related stuff and I'm thankful for that. When I started training in 2009, there were no new movies in sight and was sure we wouldn't last long. Little did I know...
In case you are wondering, the lightsaber form Luke uses it's called Shien, which is a less-agresive variation of djem-so, Anakin's prefered lightsaber combat form. So Luke fencing style is actually pasive-agresive version of Anakin full-agresive fighting style, that we can see during the finale of The Mandalorian when he destroys the darktroopers :)
No. Hate to break it to you, but the people behind that Luke scene, i.e. both the actor and the stunt coordinator, never heard about any of those so-called forms. Nick Gillard, the stunt coordinator of the prequels and basically the Godfather of lightsaber fighting, only heard about these forms because the fans (the geeky ones) probably asked him about these forms like a million times. Yeah, I said I hate to break it to you but I lied I actually love to do so. This 7 forms bullshit gotta die. Too bad the new canon hasn't ditch it like some actually cool things from the old EU.

Vader using the lightsaber backwards is a really cool nod to kylo, ahsoka, and possibly even starkiller. easily the most badass part of the choreography

The fighting style of this Dart Vader is very similar to the old movies. The attention to this kind of detail makes all the difference. Very professional, very well presented.
Lukes here combines both Soresu and Djem-So, and Vader (Anakin) use several fighting styles. Impressive.

You know, we may not like the recent movies, especially the fighting scenes, but I believe we wouldn't be here without Disney. The hype makes our stuff more popular, the anticipation of the new movies and series makes people binge all the Star Wars related stuff and I'm thankful for that. When I started training in 2009, there were no new movies in sight and was sure we wouldn't last long. Little did I know...

In case you are wondering, the lightsaber form Luke uses it's called Shien, which is a less-agresive variation of djem-so, Anakin's prefered lightsaber combat form. So Luke fencing style is actually
pasive-agresive version of Anakin full-agresive fighting style, that we can see during the finale of The Mandalorian when he destroys the darktroopers :)

Hate to break it to you, but the people behind that Luke scene, i.e. both the actor and the stunt coordinator, never heard about any of those so-called forms. Nick Gillard, the stunt coordinator of the prequels and basically the Godfather of lightsaber fighting, only heard about these forms because the fans (the geeky ones) probably asked him about these forms like a million times.

I'm a fan of the heavy style of the original trilogy, but this... This is incredible!
Vader using the lightsaber backwards is a really cool nod to kylo, ahsoka, and possibly even starkiller. easily the most badass part of the choreography
