Steven Spielberg said it best. "Without John Williams, bikes don't fly, nor do brooms in Quidditch matches, nor do men in red capes. There is no Force. Dinosaurs do not walk the earth. We do not wonder, we do not weep, we do not believe."
I don't know about anyone else, but, as a lifelong Star Wars fan, I'm also a HUGE fan of the music of John Williams. The Raiders March is my 3rd fave JW theme. (Main Theme from Star Wars, and Superman, are numbers 1 & 2.)

Thank you Mr. Williams! And thank you Megan for posting this incredible video!!
Certainly, without Mr. Williams's music, Mr. Spielberg's and Mr. Lucas's careers wouldn't have made the same run. Long life and many good melodies, Mr. Williams!
John Williams....90 yrs old.....let that sink in....just a decade shy of a CENTURY on this earth! he is up there on that stage full of boyish exhuberance and charm and looks like a man who is just merely of standard retirement age......INCREDIBLE.....i only hope I can look and feel as good IF and when I reach that age! Happy belated birthday MAESTRO :)
Makes you think Ford has great hearing, wonder if he shows up everywhere these songs start playing. You can tell he truly loves John, they have been part of each other's lives for over 46 years.
Such an awesome sight to see John Williams giving so MANY cues to the orchestra (sections). He would have the "right" to simply give only general time and dynamics, but no, he cues tiny things in every performance. He couldn't be more down to earth and actually "helping" the musicians...
I was 17 when Raiders came out. I watched the early evening show on my way home from work and was stunned. The next night I saw it again and walked home humming this march. On the third evening I saw it again and when I walked home, I _was_ Indiana Jones.

They should have sent him after the Necronomicon and have him burning it at the end to stop the 'experts' at DARPA, The Pentagon and Porton down, the Nazis and Russians getting hold of it for 'research' (inother words figuring out how they can weaponise it) purposes as too dangerous.
Every Indiana Jones movie was excellent except the last one Kingdom of the Crystal skull. That one was weird! I mean what the hell is the point with the aliens? I thought taking place in the 1950s it would deal with the Korean War! Not aliens!

Hi Megan W! Thanks for this great footage. I would never have had the opportunity to see this otherwise. What great legends we have been blessed with! I truly hope that John Williams knows how much he means to us. His name should always be held in the same reverence as Spielberg and Lucas. He is as much an important part of their film's success as any of his actors, if not much, much more. As you mentioned about the whiners, I agree, "Shut Up!"
Megan, how lucky you were to be there for this performance. Glad you recorded it. And hey, Megan? You put something out into the community...you get comments, and not everyone's always appreciative. It's just that way, and it's one of the prices you pay for your generosity in sharing it. Many thanks.
Without a doubt John Williams is the greatest composer in the last 120 years. No offense to other composers of the 20th century, Holts, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, Bernstein etc. But how many people who don't regularly listen to Classical music recognize William's work compared to those other composers? William's catalogue transcends classification in any one genre of music. Wish he could continue for another 50 years.
