Love that Beretta came out with this beauty again. Unfortunately the gun store I work at is not going to carry this firearm. They dislike Beretta. I asked to special order one they said no. So I am gonna go to our competition and buy one. See sig ,smith and now Springfield gives points to how many you sell so the salesman get free stuff.

Can’t be done. The Cheetah is blowback operated. 9mm is too hot for the direct blowback design.
This also means that you probably shouldn’t shoot +p out of this gun. Luckily, it doesn’t really matter, as a .380. +p is only about as powerful as a weak 9mm, and therefore would not likely be a one hitter caliber especially from a shorter barrel gun.

Glad to see one of the classics brought back in a modern format. However, like most, I'm not getting into 380, I can't justify getting a weaker and more expensive cartridge when everything else is in 9mm. I would love to see a 9mm variant of the 80X, or a shrunk down 92 variant with the same dimensions. Not sure what kind of design changes that would entail, but it would definitely be popular. I love the size, controls, and features, just not the cartridge.

.380 ACP, у них все серия гепардов с таким калибром. Может 0.22 еще есть. Дизайн классный, но все равно расчёт на военных, как и 92SF с такими же контролами и открытым курком. Неудобный на самом деле и как EDC не годится

Need threaded barrel, and grips that feature a palm swell. Vertec is overrated, and for shooters that are used to the old berettas, the training required takes ages to overcome.
Also would be cool to see a plate with extended height irons.

@@mikeskidmore6754 So, I guess you decide it's a compact carry gun ? Plenty of compacts with threaded barrels these days. Also, I think that a "suppressor ready" model would be great for people that buy guns for fun, not necessarily locking them into a certain subset.
If it was specifically for pocket carry, I'm sure the rail would have been deleted in favor of a smooth profiled frame.

@@mikeskidmore6754 Ok, so when does a .380 necessitate whether it can be suppressed or not ? When does a .380 lock it into a "conceal carry only" class ? Last I checked, 99% of .380 is subsonic out of a 4" barrel. Naturally, with less of a powder charge than a 9mm, it would be quieter, and more fun.

@@ThatAintGud Not quite, the 92C trigger guard is much lower to the magwell than the 80X, meaning you can only get two fingers on the grip, and your pinky on the magazine baseplate/extension. 92C is also fatter and taller, due to the P38 locking block design. 80X feels svelte, while the compact 92 feels... Kinda chunky for how small it is.
The differences between the two are akin to those between a Glock 26 (subcompact double stack) to a 43X (Staggered column magazine)
Next up, controls. 92C gets the slide-mounted decocker, 80X has a very nice thumb safety; it actually works, it doesn't get in the way of hitting the slide stop like the safety on the XI or Performance models. Even on a Taurus, based on the original 92, the safety feels like an afterthought rather than an intentional design.
I'd love to see a variant chambered in 9mm with a modified P38 lockup, somewhere in between the 80X and the 92C in size, with the 80X controls. It would almost certainly have it have its own unique magazines, but I'll take that trade off rather than having to get new magazines and stock a whole new cartridge to get an 80X.

@@ThatAintGud the reason I don’t run a 92 series pistol is because they’re so big and clunky. This is a tad bit smaller than a Glock 19 but chambered in 380. The 92X is bigger than a 19… plus hammers, levers and switches on, and Kerrigan is not a great idea. The more things you have to worry about in a stressful situation, the more things you can forget, and the more things can go wrong.
If you only shoot government calibers like 9mm and .40, it just makes those ammos cheaper for the governments.

Wish it didn't come in such a trash round. Also, dosen't make sense for most to carry it as a backup to the backup. Then youd be carrying two pistol rounds. All in all, Nice pretty gun, over priced, garbage round.
