honestly I think that Beretta is on to something with the ammo can packaging. I live it, and truly think all pistols should come packaged more like that
First time ive ever seen packaging like this! It makes complete sense. Instead of packaging it in a box most will probably never use again, they give you an ammo can. Great video. Thanks for sharing. Just sub'd. keep going.
I just got an M9A3. I prefer the FS model with the safety/decocker. I hear the trigger on the A4 is amazing I can’t imagine how much better it can be than the A3 because that trigger feels so good compared to the regular M9.
Actually, both the M9A3 and M9A4 have the so called “D” spring. The most palpable difference is the double action pull. The original M9 classic, which I also have, the double action is over 12 lbs initially. Now that it’s broken in, it’s around 10 lbs or so, closer to 11. Single action pull is close to 5 lbs initially, down to 4 now. I recently bought a M9A3 three weeks ago. Double action on the A3 is 10 lbs right now, think it will drop to 9lbs after it gets broken in. 4lbs single action. Will be lower after breaking in. This makes the A3 so much easier and smoother to shoot, this plus the raised night sights also means I’m more accurate too….Now, I just need to save up for my can to really have some fun! (Have eyes set on a Rugged Obsidian .45 cal can for my FN FNX-45, with an adaptor for the A3).
I know. I was interested in ordering one of these until he said there was no safety on the decocker. That was one of the reasons I got my PX4. I would not like to holster the M9A4 in the dark and have it go off on me.
I seen this video probably 10 times and I can’t get enough of this beautiful pistol, and one day I know I will get one ,thank you for the great job on the review
Should be getting mine today! Can't wait! Absolute perfection IMHO. Do you know if they got the mag issue squared away yet? Superb review BTW. Two thumbs up!👍👍
I'm not a gun guy (and I'm not from the US either), so I was wondering if it's normal for guns to not have a safety, coz it seems quite an important feature, especially in this case, where simply pulling the trigger even after de-cocking the gun would still fire it.
6:11 Maybe I'm not seeing it, but I thought on the A3/ A4, with the hammer cocked, the de-cocker was angled up a bit more noticeably. In the video it looks like it's parallel to the slide.
If the gun goes off when you use the decocker it would be an AD not ND. An AD is when the gun mechanically does what it’s not supposed to do when safety protocols are adhered to. ND is human error, not mechanical.
My cz75 is way more accurate than me beretta 92. Probably because cz fits my hand much better but can't deny that beretta feels much more premium andi have the cheap one
Unless I'm mistaken it seems really stupid that it doesn't have any safety at all. Is there any reason they chose to remove the safety to just have the decocker?
I'm not sure on the decision, so this is my speculation. The decocker has been an option, but a large portion of DA/SA pistols don't have them. I believe it was an military requirement and they've finally gotten away from the need for it.
It has everything I want besides being inox IT DRIVES ME CRAZY they have every version of an m9 you can imagine besides a4 inox. If i want front serrations i gotta buy a discontinued expensive gun or get a gunsmith but im not sure its legal to put front serrations over the text on original m9s
Beretta is a way better manufacturer than a lot of people give them credit for. I think a lot of it has to do with the military experience with the M9/M9A1. Which is a little misplaced when those guns have decades of service and 10’s of thousands of rounds. The M9 I carried as ASF in the Navy p, the bluing was so worn it looked like an INOX model lol
Indeed. Most of the military ones had been rode hard and put up wet. Despite the abuse, they could've been worse. We will have to see how the sigs hold up after 20-30 years.
Never liked the M9 regardless of how beaten or new it was. Too many malfunctions to include the slide pin shearing at the range. Was never a fan of the trigger feel and that includes the action. I figure it's popularity came from the movie Lethal Weapon because those of us that transitioned from the 1911 and held these things were like WTF is this? Sort of like how so many Vietnam soldiers felt when they were handed the M-16 after using the M-14. Unimpressed.
Attractive pistol, have a closer look and it's lipstick on a .... First the A4 trigger is dismal- try a M9a1 w an upgraded D spring or Taurus PT92- and I have competition among the variants and they out shoot the A4. Next the optics plate uses tension screws on a sheer application- why? To have the optics get loose . No safety, heavy trigger and questionable engineering wrapped up in a great can.
Optics system could definitely be improved, but it appears they worked with what they had available. Trigger isn't terrible, but I agree it could be improved.
