How do you guys like the add “more water” feature? Does it really make a difference? I read it adds about 3 more Gallons to wash and rinse cycle. Be honest! :) I’m trying to decide whether to get this 4.8 or the 5.0 (but 5.0 doesn’t have add water feature)
@emikahmakor9941 I have this exact same model and size machine. I’ve done much researched even in the manual but cannot figure out how to make the rinse water cold for color loads. Only the wash water gets cold.
Thank you. My Laundry room has the washer and dryer sitting at an odd angle such that you cant get the drawer on the washer open all the way. Any way I had been looking for the fabric softener port, and didnt realize there was on behind the bleach port. After watching this we able to make some adjustments so we could open it far enough to get access to that port. Thanks again.

Very good review and I'm very happy to know I could use powder detergent.I saw a review and in the comment section someone said you couldn't use powder bc when she use the powder detergent it leaked over the floor.But after watching your video I believe maybe she put it in wrong.Anyways you have a beautiful set and I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Thanks for the review! I just received my new washer & dryer today. What is the difference between "Cold" and "Tap Cold"? Also, do you still wipe/dry out the inside after the venting is complete? I do not want to get mildew again in my machine.
To avoid mildew dry inside rubber seals and if you can leave the door somewhat open if possible ,It's because if you have children they may be playing with it while open or getting in it, just leave it like that .I always do since I don't have children. If you do that you will never have that problem. That's what I did with the other set I had which lasted me 10 or 11 years then it died 😔.

Not yet. No mold issues as of yet. Yes. Dry it after use. We do it once a day if we're doing particularly heavy laundry. We just dry at the end of the day. No mold☺

Yes it has a light switch. Her model appears not to but we just bought the same set and it does have a light button/control lock button bottom right corner of panel
I was wondering, we bought these and there seems to be some excess water sitting inside the door on the blue seal...not a major but it seems like it would eventually get moldy.
Love them. But sometimes the "sensing" in the washer doesn't sense right. Meaning it doesn't completely dry out clothing...Has happened twice already. So I have to hit the spin button again...Maybe we should call the warranty number. We also got the store warranty from which we purchased it from.
One question. Your experience and help with this model would be appreciated. So I bought this from Lowe’s and had it delivered yesterday. The delivery people were a nightmare but I’ll get over that. My question is my ultrafresh vent button doesn’t illuminate/light up like yours. Only the left side does when I put it in that mode to dry the drum for the 8 hrs the Manual tells you to follow. I woke up this morning and water was still under the rubber part and it should of been bone dry. Customer service said to turn off the breaker for 2 minute to reset it but I’m at work so I can’t do that till I get home. What exactly do you do to use that OPTION to dry the drum with the ultrafresh vent when you do it ?. I hit the button and then I hit it again 3 seconds later and it starts to run buttttt the light only lights up on the left side and after 8 hrs it’s still wet inside lol. You help would be appreciated again.

@@emikahmakor9941 Ok hun. I got good news and bad news today. The bad news you might want pay attention to lol cause I think You , I and most of the public were duped on this 550 series. The 650 and 850 get the EXTRA Ultra Vent effect. I’ll explain later down below. The GOOD NEWS : (( Deep Breath )) exhale. Ok. lol. I had a tech come out today again and replace something that wasn’t opening at the top of the Blue vent in the drum. If you reach up in the blue rubber part at the top you should feel a opening. Two weeks ago mine was close but the washer still worked. The tech replaced the part cause it needed to be open. So I’m happy that is fixed .. but lol The bad news: This 550 series doesn’t have the FULL effects of Ultra Vent Cycle when it’s ran for the 8 hrs or so that GE tells you to run it after you wash all your clothes for the day LIKE the 650 or 850 series does. The 550 models Don’t have a FAN in them that dries them out completely like the 650 or 850 models do after the 8 hour ultra vent cycle So when you run the ultra vent and the drum runs for 8 hrs / that’s all we’re getting with this 550 model. The tech told me he talked to GE days prior to coming to my house and got some info from them to relay to me about my product I bought - so lol the TECH told me what they said at GE headquarters. GE told my Tech that my expectations for the 550 model won’t be what the 650 and 850 does for drying out the water to prevent mold. Lmaooo. I told the tech that’s what I paid for. To protect from mold. The tech said the blue ban is suppose to protect it from mold still but doesn’t have a fan running when you do the ultra ban vent cycle fr 8 hrs. I knew I should of bought the more expensive ones that were $600 more total and just got the 850 models. When you run your Ultra Vent cycle for 8 hrs do you notice Water in the drum a little ? .... cause In the 650 and 850 models with the fan it doesn’t leave water in the drum after the 8 hr cycle people say. Those 650 and 850 series have a fan that helps the water go away when the ultra vent cycle is ran after washing clothes. I’m mad lol but I hope the Tech is right about the Blue Ban on the drum still protecting my washer from mold and not blowing smoke up my ass cause of GE being his source of income cause he works for them through a company that gets jobs from GE locally in my city.

Yes omg same for me to! I thought I was going crazy lol. We're used to top load washer/dryers and I absolutely LOVED smelling the detergent as it was washing and also on the clothes. I'm seriously trying to figure out why clothes don't smell fresh with this front loader! I always used liquid detergent and will test out HE powder detergent and see if there's a difference! I'm not giving up until I get that fresh smell again haha!
We own this pair. They are terrible. They both keep breaking down after only two years of use. Now I need to replace the washer because GE doesn’t have replacement parts. After only two years of use!!!

Don't forget to remove the bolts in the back of the washer . It will look like they need to be there ... but they don't. There's 4 of them

It senses the weight of the load! the bigger and heavier the load, the more water will be added.

Do you have warranty? I'd get Lowes out there to take a look at it. It seems there maybe something definitely going on with your units.

What is the exact width? 28 inches? I know sometimes they say 28, but its actually 27 3/4ths.
I wish they put the light on these base models. I can do without the smart dispenser but that light just makes it cool 😎 Have you setup the Wifi app?
Yes i did. But Uninstalled it because it kept giving me notifications at work on laundry if someone was doing it at home😬

One time I got a washer and it was.connected incorrectly: cold to hot. Probably what happened in your situation+

The washer shakes if the clothing within the washer is unbalanced. So if it is overly stuffed , or the washer doesn't appropriately sense the laundry.
