Welcome to Michigan! You will find some awesome inland lakes up here, nothing but gorgeous panfish, smallmouth, and largemouth!
Mabey some pike
Nice day to be up a creek, John. Yeah, no mountains to block that wind up there. Bet it was cooler than down here, though. Enjoying your trip.
i was hoping it was going to be cooler but it was about the same, 90's every day not as muggy though
A little trick I learned on panfish years ago. Light line and no weight. The more natural the bait sinks the quicker the big ones are likely to hammer it.
Damn straight
@@FriedTrout25 The problem that I have noticed is getting a light, natural bait to sink far enough to find the big guys. A big night crawler just on a hook would drop down, and then slowly lifting and dragging that along usually hooked up bigger rare spare perch of the bream variety!
@@abedanielspictures yeah I have noticed that while fishing lately, red worms are actually a lot better for the tiny fish because the night crawlers are usually softer and easier to be stolen
you don’t have to watch the video to know it’s gonna be a good one, automatic like button
Sight fishing in clear skinny water is a blast! Sorry you lost your drone 😞
🔥🔥🔥Kayak fishing
What a great trip! You have the best fishing channel around.
You guys fishing is like me gardening when I get it right the rewards are fruitfull. But when you just mess around and don't know what you're doing everything tends to hang up 😂.
We fished Lake Erie outside Monroe, Mi in the same kind of tall reeds and grasses... got 20 lbs of Bluegill Pumpkinseed and Sunnies in 3 hours. Some of the most fun I ever had fishing...
Excellent video. Neat to see you perk up when you got into "your zone" of "creek fishing." You weren't having a good time in the lake, but when you got to the creek....! Those pumpkin seed fish were beautiful!
I thought I recognized Wabasis in Ethan's video. Great lake, I hope you enjoyed your time in Michigan
Congrats on the PB Pumpkinseed John!
knew exactly where you were as soon as I saw the ramp....its a great ice fishing spot for Crappie and pike.
sorry to here you lost your Drone. I have a DJI maverick mini. rule of thumb never fly past 40% of battery away from you if there is any wind. second thing i learned is if you don't have a clear line of sight you will loose signal. always check the settings for return to home to make sure its above any trees. And at a last chance resort if you still have a connection to it land it as soon as possible on dry land there is an option to turn on an alarm or i think they call it a find me or locate me. you land it and it just beeps so you can find it. But to make you feel better i lost my first gopro camera on my first fishing trip with it, had it mounted on a pole on my kayak and mount broke in the wind. its sitting in the bottom of a 40 ft deep lake.
Thank you for another great video and I will be praying some one finds your drone and returns your drone to you God bless you and your channel 🙏🏻
@5:40 Wow! Those colors!
Northern Michigan is a special place this time of year. Coming from a buckeye, 😂
They have some used DJI Mavics at the pawn shop in Athens across from the high school. Might be able to get a cost break there in replacing. I’d call before driving up. Last time I was in there last week they had a Mavic 2 used.
That creek area looks awesome 👌 👏
Some tips for Michigan. For largemouth, fish toward evening in about three or so feet of water around reed beds or lily pads or drop off with structure. For bluegill, fish drop offs in spring around 10 pm on the surface with black poppers or in September when the air is cool but the water still warm in about 12 feet of water.
Awesome video brother! Pumpkin seeds are so beautiful!
Just bought a Piscifun Carbon X2 1000 and a 2 piece 6-6 Moonshine Rambler rod can’t wait to get the line wet
5:20 was a slab of a pumpkinseed!
You were in my neck of the woods. 7 inch is a good pumpkinseed my pb is 9 and they don’t get as big as redear and bluegill. 👍🏻
There is some nice smallies in Michigan and largemouth.good walleyes 🙏
I had the original mavic mini. I also lost mine. I was flying it and the remote lost connection with the drone. And when that happens it will just land itself. Well mine was right over a pond. I made one video with it. I think I flew it 4 times before I lost it.
Yeah it was aggravating
Enjoy your video 👍
Those pumpkinseed look a lot like the longear we have in TN don't they Jon!!
There’s nothing like getting lost on some little backwater paradise!
Pumpkinseed are my favorite sunfish to catch. Very beautiful 💚
Glad you had a good time fishing.
Pumpkinseeds are really beautiful fish.
Real sorry about the drone.
Hope someone finds it and returns it to you.
Those punkin seed were beautiful and quite big . I enjoy watching you fish for multiple species especially when your in new places , almost makes me feel like I am there to. Keep up the great work sir . GOD BLESS AND GO KATS!!!!!
The patterns on those sunfish are sick! Nice float guys
Yeah buddy! Pumpkinseed are such beautiful fish!!! Good video!
John, do you know snowmobiles can drive on water?
I live in michigan on a lake and I have caught pumpkin seeds over a pound and they are beautiful❤
Wow I hat would be fun to find
Haha. In the wide shots of you in the yak, you look like a floating movie production with all that gear. Great stuff as usual!
If you ever get a chance, take a fishing trip to dowagiac mi . They have a place called mill pond, lots of big fish.
hell ya man, i live over on the east side of the state, Kalamazoo. and kayak catfish got me a fever to start catching fish in a kayak witch also lead me to your channel. i live about 4 mins from a county park/lake and the last 2 trips i have got a pumpkinseed just over 7 inches they fight like the dickens and love them on the ultralight. just started fishing again fell off the wagon for a bit
That looks like the rasin river.
Sorry to hear about your drone loss.
Hate to preach but this topic hits close to home for me John.
I have been an RC pilot for decades, along with my father who started me on the hobby as a kid.
You should never fly RC aircraft without 100% battery.
Flying with a non-full battery is a safety check failure of every preflight safety check for RC aircraft everywhere.
Chinese DJI Drones are not cheap these days, and the Mavic is impressive in capabilities.
You probably lost $600-$1000?
You also polluted the lake with plastics, metal motors, and the toxic lithium batteries it operates on.
Please try to be more careful, also never fly over people as a falling RC aircraft can kill and maim.
Otherwise enjoyed the video sir!
Michigan just hits different.
it sure does
Glad you had a great time in the Mitten 8)
Dang man! Sorry about your drone.
Great video. !!!!!
Those pumpkinseed are really cool, I’ve caught only one, it was pretty small but really colorful. They are pretty rare in my area
There are some world famous trout streams a few hours to the north, the au sable comes to mind.
Ayye Wabasis lake. I was checking out a boat for sale over there and the boat died all the way on the other side of the lake. Had to fix it on the water to get back to launch. Didn't buy that boat to say the least! Apparently there are some really nice largemouth in that lake. Never got a chance to fish it, though.
Also I’ll help kick in on the John Dalton Drone Fund don’t worry lol
So sorry to hear that about your drone. But I believe in miracles and I think your as good as they come and I'm sure you will get you a new one or somebody will find your and send it to you. Sir thanks for all that you do you are a true blessing to me and my family. I wish I had just as much luck and fishing gear as you do. My three kiddos sure could use some after there stuff and mine got stolen. I mean I could careless about me just getting my kiddos back out is what my main problem is. But I have been praying and I know god will make sure it all work out. Sir I'm just glad to see you made it there and back safely and had a wonderful time fishing with another awesome youtuber. Well till the next's one GodBless and Tight Lines.
Cool looking place good video
You drove right past me.
Hopefully you plan on trying St Clair while your out here. Those smallies are worth the trip up here
DANG! That's not good at all lol. Really good story to tell though. Nice day on the water until that happened of course.
That one was a red ear fish
Need to come to Southern West Virginia my man. Some great fishing.
Bummer on the drone,I'm from southwest michigan
Kent county
@@poimendave9536 berrien county
Dude is totally on Wabisis Lake
We call them pan fish or sunfish.
I live in Michigan I would love to show you some awesome spots..
Nice
Sorry if this has already been asked, but what lake is this? You only mentioned it's in southern Michigan.
I know where there are giant pumpkin seed..
Hey John,.. are you Part 107 licensed? If not, look it up. Don't want to see you get any grief from the FAA. Flying beyond line of sight is prohibited.... if you do it, just don't say you did it on the video! LOL
Head to the Upper peninsula
Hilllsdale County? Looks like it
I live in South East Michigan w/ hundreds of lakes. Can you say what lake you were fishing?
A lake in northern Kent county.
So no so southern :) I grew up in fruitport Michigan and that's basically Straight west and we didn't consider ourselves southern Michigan
That's a good excuse to buy a Mini 3 Pro.
Sorry about the drone, but the adventure was great.
location?
I'm in ann arbor. Where is this place? 😮😮
John, offer a reward if someone finds it . With anther drone it could be recovered . One of your rod and reels for sending you your drone ?
what lake?? curious
I live in michigan, and I'm the best I know with electronics repair, where exactly did you lose the drone, I might be able to salvage it if it isn't gone already
if i knew that i would have dug it out but i couldn't find it, probably in the mud now
Hills? In flat land.
Those hooks don’t hold fish
It would be great if me and everyone here attested to be fishing with you
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
I see alot of water in the bottom of your boat....whats up with that.
thats normal when im standing up and down
You seem to travel through alot of different states!
Do you buy different states fishing license?
ruclips.net/video/Kwj42AzluKc/видео.html
Ummm....northern Michigan in the lower part is not northern Michigan
What lake? Im from that area.
It has a campground
People are speculating Wabasis. Could be. Lots of lake around there similar. I’ve got a place in Pierson that has a similar type creek and then there’s the chain of lakes up around Lincoln Lake that are all connected by swampy little creeks like this one.
How do yall get tired of catching fish I could never get tired of catching fish I can fish from sun up to sun down
i get tired easy if i dont eat
@@CreekFishingAdventures true but I will over come hunger with plenty of liquids and stay on the water longer I'll even make a little meal pack just so I can stay longer then go eat a real meal after the fish stop or it gets to dark for me
Can you eat these fish?
Yea but the bass aren’t that good
You need to get back to your roots
Dude go on one of my Videos. Get ahold of me.
First
I love fishing. Right now I'm fishing for people. Jesus is the way the truth and the life He is the Lord of my soul and also the entire universe😬☕.
I enjoyed your video thank you
Cool reference to Psalms brother 🙋
I just subscribed
Wabasis suckssss
That sucks that you lost your drone bruh!!! If anyone finds John's drone please send it back to him. Let's show him some MW hospitality!!!
💯💯
Least you don't have to worry about Gators coming out of the grass like in FL. But with those big Pike wouldn't dangle those toes in the water.
I don't think pikes would attack you lmao but you never know. I've been swimming in these lakes my whole life
@@VictorKaneLifts To be fair lots of people have never been attacked by a gator lol
Pure Michigan baby!!!! Let's gooooo! 🦌💙
I’m new to fishing in Michigan where are good places to fish?
@@ianbryant9 I'm from Michigan but I haven't had a chance to fish there yet. There are lakes and ponds everywhere
@@ianbryant9 just caught a giant smallmouth today at the metropark near Brighton!
Hi John, one thing you need to know is southern rivers are more sand and gravel, where northern rivers and lakes are muck bottom in 80% or more in a lake. This is due to the ice age. when the ice grew farther south it left more sand and rock. the rivers all so flowed before the northern areas. Up north the ice gouged out more dirt and mud when it was retreating. I have fished 75% of Wisconsin lakes and rivers and they were all at about 80% or more muck with a few sandy areas. I would say from southern Illinois go east/west and that will be the boundry line with the muck from rock and sand. Only the faster streams will have a rock bottom from the muck getting washes away in the past centuries.
I think we called marrow bottom lakes I don't remember why
You couldn't fish 75% of Michigan's waterways in two lifetimes.
You been fishing on some of our hottest days this summer. Glad your having fun catching michigan fish! Bummer on the drone loss.
Wabisis is a Great Lake 😂😮
You cant beat a good day of fishing and catching! Great video!
I am sorry you lost your drone. But the pumkin seed were really beautiful fish. Thank you for sharing and God bless you both and your families.....🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
